Work Text:
I wish they could see it,
I wish they could know.
If life is for living,
then I live to be owned.
I am not my survival,
I am not my courage.
I am not the extremities which you see,
I am but a seed.
I could be tall-standing,
I could shape the landscape.
My roots could sink to the core from the surface,
Do not mistake my potential for purpose.
I am to be kept,
My gardener’s little sprout.
I am loved,
There is no longer a doubt.
Their radiant joy,
it must not be postponed.
This is my purpose,
I was made to be owned.
Adorn me in flowers,
the kind that reflect you.
Adore me, please…
I can never detest you.
Let me be fragile,
Let me be fleeting.
Let me be small,
I’m begging and pleading.
Do not burden me with potential,
Do not burden me with strength.
Do not force me to sport a thick, resilient bark,
Just leave me unguarded, let me warm your beautiful, glowing heart.
It’s all so clear now,
Do not try to erase it.
It was always this simple,
They could never embrace it…
In devotion I bloom,
I’d just like to mention;
To wither away,
It is not my intention.
My words,
They are not the echos of resignation.
My desires,
They do not depict stagnation.
I do not wish to rot,
I do not wish to recede.
My wish for submission,
It is not my undoing.
I love that I’m small
I love that I’m moldable.
To deny me this truth,
It is simply deplorable.
I was made to be kept,
I was made to be fawned-over.
I was made to be yours,
I was made to be owned.
