Chapter Text
They say it's the darkest before dawn, while the world sleeps in slow breathing, dreams and nightmares keeping them in bed, except for some nocturnal ones who cannot sleep no matter how hard they try. The ones who stay awake along side the stray cats stealthily walking over a loft or the loud creatures squeaking at a distance, perhaps a flickering light in the sky. Something drags itself on the cold hard ground, grunting with heavily breaths drawn in difficulty, it scans the neighbourhood, effortlessly blending in with darkness as it enters the premises of a possible school. Red eyes catching a streak if light from a dorm room far off the eight floor of the building.
Han Jisung, or Jisung as everyone calls him scribbles down a note on his book as he uses his thumbs to glide his Gouache pigment on his sketch book. Chubby cheeks bunched up and big doe eyes flicking between the computer screen and the sketch pad. He's one of the many ones who never slept or perhaps rarely ever slept at all having difficulties of getting some sleep. He's alone at school, it's summer and all have left to spend time with family, which, unfortunately Jisung had none. He could go back to the orphanage he grew up in but just for a visit of maybe three hours or more, not to stay. He was no longer 18 to find refuge under the wing of the church. So he spent all his summers here, alone, working on himself and a summer job to be well, financially strong. Jisung's roommate, Changbin had offered let him join though the Omega, kindly refused.
In a world of humans and omegaverse, Jisung was just a tiny little brown wolf who kept to himself. Making himself look as small as possible without drawing much attention to him. His thoughts are interrupted when a loud bang on his dorm room door startles him. Making him drop his paint on the floor with a plat, he had to collect four pay checks to get the best Gouache paints out their and now, he's lost his orange just like that. Just as he about to blaggard the possible intruder he gets a strong whiff of someone, or something he couldn't quite put a finger on it. It was heavy, strong and........bloody. Another bang follows making making jump in his seat, his honeyed skin turning a pale white. There wasn't many staying at school, just a few girls in the girls dormitory, the football coach down the school grounds because he had summer events held. The Ajumma who cooked for the ones staying at school, summer class students and so one.
"W-Who is it? Changbin hyung?" Jisung knew it couldn't possibly be Changbin because he'd be informed that the older would be coming if so. Because Jisung was a sensitive little bean, gingerly padding towards the door he peaks through the peek hole but there's nothing on the other side. But the rattling gets louder and louder making Jisung's heart rattle along with it. Locking the door with all the chains that Changbin had fastened on for safety, regarding Jisung being a Omega who went into heat every month, as a protection from hungry Alpha's, the brunette opens the door a jar.
Only for it to be dashed open, the chains breaking off and Jisung is slammed harshly on the wall behind, an arm around his mouth, his wrists pinned above his head. The man, obviously the man, was strong, exceptionally strong, he pressed Jisung into such a state he couldn't move. The door must have clicked shut because low breathing could be heard behind it, more of a human wheezing with anger and vengeance. Jisung's eyes tear with the intensity of the man's hold on him, but he doesn't let go until the wheezing noise is completely gone.
And......
Then he's let go off, the print of the said man's hold left behind in Jisung's skin, on his jaw and wrists as slowly he sees what was before him. Or who was before him. Alot of blood, coating his floor, injured and weak yet awfully terrifying, was an Enigma Alpha standing before him. Jisung's eyes grow big with wonder and fear at thean before him, because as far as he's been taught at school. They didn't exist. Or perhaps, a rumour had been circulated for years that one was believed to be.
"You....You will not say a word to anyone. If you do, I'd sink a bullet down your head." The voice felt like a command, he was commanded and Jisung couldn't physically react against it, he were as through he's been put into a trance. Hypnotized into listening, to bending down to a mythical belief that suddenly happened to exist. Jisung doesn't say a word, instead he stares and stares like he's been petrified by the magnificent presence before him. He wasn't even sure if the Alpha before him was even real to start with. Because they.....they didn't exist did they? Jisung must have slipped down the wall between all the happenings that he doesn't realise until the Alpha squats before him, holding his jaw so tightly he fears his bone might snap.
"Have I made myself clear?" He's asked, the man's blood dribbling down Jisung's neck. Jisung nods weakly, because he's a pathetic Omega the lowest rank in the hierarchy of Omegaverse. What was he supposed to do? Rebel? The Alpha let's go of him as he sits stumbles trying to find a landing to let his body fall and he does on Jisung adorable little bed. He's injured so bad, slashes and scratches a bullet down his thigh and god knows what else.
Enigma's, by far as Jisung has known were a fragment of myth, believed to not actually exist and we're fabled. But there were stories that stringed back to the ancient era's where people had seen an Enigma, sightings and never solid proof of one. History recorded that an Enigma is the Alpha of Alphas and is believed to be a myth because of their rarity. They are extremely dangerous and can either lead a society to flourish or to damnation. No one knew exactly how they were, what their characteristics were. Or how they behaved.....and now Jisung had one heaving heavy ragged breaths on his bed.
A low howl makes Jisung snap out of his thoughts, the man sat himself up, leaning on wall on the left side of the bed. Drenching Jisung's safe place into ruins, "Get me a knife and a candle. And disinfectants....." He grits his teeth, his fangs never disappearing. Jisung crawls to his bathroom, afraid to stand and look tall for the intruder as he comes back, walking because his knees hurt.
"Clean the fucking wound Omega." He growls making Jisung pout and waddle towards the stranger with big unsure eyes. His arms shake as he tries to clean as many wounds as he could see, flinching everytime the Alpha snarled or growled at him. "Get off me." Jisung scrambles away as the man heats the knife and nicks out the bullet of his thigh, the fabric being torn in the process. He looked haggard, I'll shaven and a mess but his aura had Jisung at his mercy. Perhaps if he had been a beta this wouldn't have happened. He'd have a more stronger ground.
"You're..... You're stabbed." Jisung whispers pointing a shivering finger at the man's waist, he takes steps back when the Enigma looks up at him. Thick blood dribbles down his waist and he's a breath away from going insane with pain.
Jisung finds himself pressing a t-shirt onto the blood that begins to flow once the dagger is pulled out of the intruders waist. Relatively bigger in size the Enigma Alpha was hopelessly injured and weak......making Jisung regret having his lights on, staying in the dorms. Summer was no longer going to be nice, what about his job, what about the pretty set of seashell paints he wants to get? When will this man ever leave?
"G-Give me you leg....." The Alpha glares at him and Jisung refuses, moving away for the man in fear. But he doesn't get too far, he trips and falls on his bum, as a gold string loops around his ankle chaining him to the horizontal grills of his dorm room window.
"No no no no what are you doing?!" Jisung screams, trying to break off the gold cuff off his ankle, pushing his glasses back on to see clearly.
"Let me go-" Suddenly he's slammed again on the wall, reminding him of what happened moments ago as those red fierce eyes stare at him like a predator.
"If anyone finds out I'm here I'll kill you. Be a good Omega or you'll have a bullet down your skull." His voice is deep, dominating and forceful. Jisung had never been part of a pack, because he was discarded the moment he was born. But this Alpha gave off the vibe of a pack leader, once he's let gone, Jisung realises, he must be because an Enigma ruled over the entirety of all packs.
Light slowly dawn's over as Jisung curls up on the floor crying silently as he watches the Enigma writhe on his bed. The nauseating smell of blood churning his insides, his scent so strong it made Jisung dizzy and feel weak. The wounds were tended to, Jisung providing the man with whatever he asked because he was terrified and had no choice but to abide.
Jisung never imagined his last summer at school would turn out to be the most terrifying of all his life, he didn't know what to do, he cannot talk back.....well he was an Omega after all and the man asleep was almost considered a Master of Alpha's. Never in his life did Jisung think he'd be held hostage in his own room, his heart sinks because perhaps he'd never get to find his future mate, he'd never have little pups running about, he'd never live the life he's always dreamt off. He jumps when his phone rings on his table, thanking heavens that it was one of his friends hopefully.
Unfortunately it awakes the beast, despite the extremely injured body, the Enigma grabs hold of Jisung hand, folding it behind him as he takes the phone off the Omega's arms. Throwing it against wall, Jisung starts crying, he pushes the man away as he scurries to take his phone. Shattered beyond repair, the first gift mother superior had given him when he turned 18. Now he'd be cut off his friends, the entire world out there, "Monster! Why should I let a criminal seek refuge in my dormitory?!" Jisung screams at the Enigma, wiping his tears away from his eyes, hugging his broken phone close to his chest.
"Don't you dare talk to me like that!" The commanding tone shuts Jisung up but doesn't stop him from crying. He prayed that Changbin would notice his silence and reach out. Would save him from this monster stuck in the very walls of the place he once found comfort and peace in. It was no longer safe, it had been tainted and ruined. "You suffer the consequences if you try to blow up my cover Omega." The man growls at him, his fangs digging into his lower lips. Unlike the normal race of Alpha's, Beta's and Omega's, Enigma's fangs were visible.
"I didn't ask you come here, I was minding my own fucking business and you chose to come here! You have no right to tell me what to do!" Jisung screams back, glaring at the man who didn't value anything, not a life at the least. He knew made the Enigma furious but the pain held the Alpha back to bed. Rooting him in place. Thought those fierce eyes glared him down with an intensity, it had Jisung hide under his table away from the the man.
Jisung was told the world outside was scary, but unfortunately no one told him about how his life inside his dormitory could go haywire in a heartbeat. He prayed for someone to save him from this monster. Enigma's never brought forth good as per lore and legends.
