Chapter Text
“Yuma you can’t leave” Izukacha said as she rushed after him trying to grab on.
Yuma was tired Calvaria had been using him for years. Then he finally escaped and could travel just like his father. He wanted to know how his father felt while traveling. Now that he had a new perspective of his time.
Dying at 11 was hard, well he was 11 back then. Now he’s 16 and still looks too young. He wished he could keep traveling but he was so tired. This toxic country was to much, and the council had made the decision to invade other countries. He was done, his time here ended a long time ago. Maybe he was just holding on to the last place his father had been.
Just a few moments earlier, Yuma had announced that he was leaving Clavaria. No one was happy, they knew it wasn’t just him traveling as always. He could care less about their feelings though, he was tired of hurting, tired of being hurt, being alone.
“Yuma!” Izukacha yelled at him rushing to his side and grabbing him by the shoulder. “Why, why are you doing this?” Yuma looks her dead in the eyes. “Don’t you see what’s happening” He says in a calm tone. “This country is destroying itself, I don’t have time to be here for its downfall. The most important thing I need to do is find a way to replica.”
Izukacha looks down sad and angry but she knows he’s right. “What about us, we care about you. What are we supposed to do.” She says talking about herself, father, and brother. Her and Yuma were childhood friends after all, even if they had different lives.
“I suggest leaving this country quickly, the Trion amount is decreasing rapidly. The counsel will likely go after more sacrifices. You guys may be next due to letting me leave” Yuma says, clenching his fist before he says “Trigger On”. He passes something to Izukacha and gives a small smile.
“These are the planets in rotation the next month, if you guys need to leave-“ Yuma sighs before continuing “Just click a planet and be sure to have skin to skin contact. That way it should teleport you there”. Yuma looks her, a worried expression but it disappears quickly before he turns around.
“I don’t want to lose anyone else” He says before he opens a portal and disappears. Leaving nothing behind except the tablet in Izukacha’s hands.
In the shadows, a council member stands before picking up a device. “call #*%$” He orders. “Tell them that we have the solider they need” as he watches Yuma disappear.

Yuma lands on this new planet with a trion soldier he made. By his calculations he is now on Medein this is where his father wanted him to be. For a moment he just stands there. Memories of blood, tears and screams of desperation filling his mind. Everything he had to do the last 5 years, working for Calvaria. Warriors who never cried, shedding tears over their decapitated child while the mother wails in the background. How children looked as he killed their parents and then brought them back to Calvaria to be warriors. He never wants to do that again.
With the loss of replica in the madness, to not keep him fully sane any longer and not help him. “Trigger Off” Yuma says as he reaches into his pocket pulling out a mini replica. The last thing he had of replica. The trion soldier he made runs off after being ordered and he continues on his way.
He finds a broken building near buy, that looks towards Headquarters. The name he can’t quite remember it started with a B right? He notices a sign in the corner of his eye. “Forbidden zone?” Yuma mutters. Good thing he remembers some Japanese.
Yuma stars at the sign for a while “Is this how they protect their civilians from enemies?” He hears someone walking up behind him, though the steps were slightly silent.
“More to minimize the damage, stop to much large scale destruction.” A male voice speaks from behind him. Yuma swiftly turns and stares the man down. The man had light brown hair, and eyes similar to a fly. He had the stature of a fighter, but seemed to be in civilian clothes.
The outfit similar to the clothes his father used to sometimes wear around him when they were at home, or traveling on their ship. The man shoves his hands in his pockets.
“Civilians aren’t allowed here, you know” He smirks down at Yuma. “But you wouldn’t know that would you” Yuma looks at the man unfazed by his assumption.
“Geez, I didn’t even get time to look around. But I guess I do stand out” Yuma replies as he looks down at the civilian clothes he got from Calvaria.
The man laughs “That’s an understatement, even with whatever the hell you’re wearing.” Yuma hummed. “So, you’ve identified me. What are you going to do next?” Yuma asks, getting straight to the point.
The man made a conflicted face and rubbed the back of his neck. “Wellll, because you’re a Neighbor I suppose I should bring you in. However you haven’t really shown any ill intent and look about five sooooo.” The man debates looking down at Yuma.
Yuma’s eyebrow twitched. FIVE? He may be short but that was an exaggeration. Especially since he’s taller now since his last journey.
The man hits his fist into his hand “How about this, I take your phone number and keep tabs making sure you don’t cause problems, and you take care of any Neighbor activity outside of the forbidden zone!”
Yuma’s stunned for a moment but then he guesses that would work. “That sounds a little to good for me” Yuma stares at him for a sec “What are you trying to do?” This man starred a Yuma with an expression he couldn’t recognize. Yuma’s side effect also wasn’t going off at all. “In a normal circumstance, I would take you in without hesitation. But looking at you, there is something wrong it’s fairly obvious. As a soldier, I should discard that. But I’m not on the clock right now, so I’m a civilian. As a person I can’t do I that”. The man cracks a smirk “Plus, something tells me you would be better as an asset.”
Yuma wanted to shut the offer down, but he knew he couldn’t. He has no doubt that someone has been following him, but he couldn’t figure out who. From how the man talked about Neighbors, they seem to be disliked or unwelcome therefore, outlawed. Granted that means him to, but….
Yuma sighed in defeat. “Fine, it’s a deal.” The man grins “Sweet! Tachikawa Kei, 20 years old. Nice to meet you shrimp.”
Yuma’s eyebrow twitched. “Kuga Yuma, Sixteen.” Tachikawa blanched. “How the hell are you so short- wait never mind. Phone number please.” Yuma stares at Tachikawa’s hand with the device in his hand, he just looked at him like he was stupid because honestly maybe this man was.
“I’m a Neighbor” Tachikawa blinks. “Yeah, so?” Yuma looked disbelieving. “I come from an entirely different world, and you think I know what a phone is?” Tachikawa froze “…..Ah.” Yuma rolled his eyes and grabs the device(phone) in Tachikawa’s hand. “I’ll just make my own” Tachikawa looks surprised. “How?”
Yuma responded with a simple, “Trigger”.
Yuma analyzes the phone in his had while Tachikawa stares at him. Yuma makes sure to modify to not get any of Tachikawa’s information.
Tachikawa watches in amazement as a small red flip phone emerges from Yuma’s ring, identical to his own in all but color. Handing back the phone to Tachikawa, he said “I put my contacts in there, so everything should be set.”
Taking his phone back, Tachikawa examines it for a sec. “Holy hell that’s useful! Is this a new thing in the Neighborhood or something.”
Yuma shakes his head and held up his hand with the ring. “No, it’s just my trigger” Looking at it, Tachikawa’s eyes turn sharp “Is it black?” Yuma nods, checking for the older man’s reaction.
“Man, good thing I didn’t attack, that would have been a mess” Tachikawa mused. Yuma looked at him confused “Why are you so confident? You met me 15 minutes ago and are acting like you have all of the information you need. I could be lying for all you know” Yuma says stunned by Tachikawa’s reaction.
Tachikawa shrugs “Something tells me you’re not a lair, and you don’t like them either at least” Yuma hums. So he liked to get into other peoples heads, good to know.
“Well, now that we established I’m an ally, I have to figure out a place to go live.” Yuma sighs. “Do you even have the money for that” Tachikawa questioned. Yuma nodded. “My father used to live here, so he had money called “Savings”. Whatever that is, it looks like a lot of paper to me.” Tachikawa sweat drops. This kid was not gonna cut it, he ran his hand down his face.
“How about this, I have a pretty good house because of my Border status, and I live alone. You can stay with me, so I can keep an eye on you and help you understand Japan’s customs.” Yuma cringed, earning a dramatic gasp from Tachikawa. Yuma hated this, having to rely on someone while being trapped in a corner. Yet at the same time, he had literally nowhere to go, and this is where his dad wanted him to be.
Plus, Tachikawa seems like someone he could get along with. Not that he would ever say it out loud to his face.
“As much as I dislike it, I agree. What do you want in return?” Yuma asked, Tachikawa grins at Yuma “Can you cook?” Puzzled, Yuma nodded. The older male grabbed his collar and began to drag him. “Then lets gooooo-“

Approaching Tachikawa’s house, Yuma’s first thought is ‘it’s not that bad’. It was definitely similar to some of the houses on the other planets. At least it wasn’t on the glamorous side like the castles. These were his thoughts before they entered inside.
Yuma was not ready for the absolute mess everywhere. Ramen cups layered on the flood, blankets and pillows everywhere. The kitchen had moldy dishes and Yuma swears he could see dirty clothes underneath all of it.
Yuma could not understand how someone could be so messy. Originally he would think, it’s because he can’t sleep. But he can now so even without the free time he’s never been this messy. Yuma turns around, only to see Tachikawa with a proud look on his face and arms crossed with confidence. Yuma looks back to the mess flinching in disgust especially with the smell.
Tachikawa’s confidence droops when he sees Yuma’s face. He looked around his house and realized maybe, his house was a little messy.
“Tachikawa” Yuma says staring and locking eyes with the attacker. “Please tell me you have cleaning supplies”
Well, at least Yuma would have something to do.

Tachikawa pouted as Yuma cleansed his house. He couldn’t complain after all Yuma would be living there as well. Plus, Tachikawa knew someone had to take care of the house and he wasn’t able to properly. Although it sucked someone 4 years younger than you acting more mature. Not more mature maybe adulting better in his opinion.
Speaking of adulting, Tachikawa now had a kid he had to watch over. He knew better than anyone how bad this idea is, after all he’s not only a kid…….teen but a Neighbor at that. However when Tachikawa saw the shrimp, he could tell that the albino was alone. He knows, he’s seen it in himself.
Tachikawa groaned, also it fairly obvious that the boy had a heavy amount of trauma. Although he seems to barely have any scars his mental trauma seems to cove more that enough. From what, he didn’t know. But…..
Tachikawa shifted his eyes to the cleaning boy.
He couldn’t stand seeing someone so young, not even reaching adulthood bring done so soon.
Tachikawa snapped out of his thoughts as he saw Yuma’s clothes. Well first things first, he needed to get out of whatever the hell he was wearing.
“Yuma!” Tachikawa called, getting the boys attention. “We’re going out, you need different clothes.”
This should be a fun experience.
____________________________________________________________________________________
An it definitely, was. They visited kid store after kid store.
Walking out of Once Upon a Child, Yuma just scowled as Tachikawa laughed. “Was this really necessary? I’m 16.” Yuma grouched. “But they still fit” Tachikawa. wheezed
“Still fit at the second to last size, take me to a different store” Yuma says huffing.
“Why it’s cheaper this way” Tachikawa says poking at Yuma “Plus its funny to see their reactions to us telling them your age” he lets out a chuckle as Yuma huffs again but laughs a little.
The last store when Yuma said she was 16 the lady’s jaw dropped. She also dropped the scanner in her hand and gave a discount guessing wrong. Especially as she looked a Tachikawa recognizing him. They brushed off her apology and told her it was fine, but it was still funny. Cause you also just see Yuma deadpanning at her.
Yuma and Tachikawa bickered for a couple of minutes. Yuma arguing that he wasn’t a child, and Tachikawa saying that Yuma could still pass as one.
Walking out from the mall, Tachikawa stops as he notices some teens in school uniforms walk by. Now, he remembers.
“Yuma, we still need to get you into a school” Tachikawa says out load, looking at the teens as they turn a corner. Yuma looks up at the taller man. “School?”
Tachikawa shrugs, “Like a building where you learn stuff, and make friends” Yuma hums. “Sounds pretty stupid.” Tachikawa sweat dropped. “Yeah, but it’s the standard here.”
“Really?” “Really.” Yuma groaned, and buried his face in his hands. “What the fuck.”
“Language.” Tachikawa comments. Yuma lifted his head out of his hands and gives Tachikawa an unimpressed look. “What? You’re my responsibility now, it would look bad if I let you cuss” Tachikawa explained
All he got was a finger in response.

That’s how, Yuma found himself standing in front of a middle school, in a stupidly uncomfortable uniform.
Tachikawa somehow came up with a compelling argument, saying that as part of their deal it was up to Yuma to defend outside of the forbidden zone in case it ever came to that. The best way would be that Yuma’s acts and fits in as a “normal civilian”, much to the albino’s dismay. But please both Yuma and Tachikawa knew it wouldn’t go their way, which is what Yuma replied back to that argument.
But yes, that’s how he got in front of this stupid school, in stupid clothes, surrounded by stupid people. Just like Clavaria, actually he can’t say that he hasn’t talked to them yet but it feels the same.
A sharp pain struck his chest as he remembers Clavaria, he hopes Izukacha and the rest escaped in time. Yuma quickly locks those emotions down, no need for weakness.
Abandoning his train of thought, he begins walking into the school. After quickly visiting the ‘office’, Yuma heads towards this ‘class’ that his first on his schedule. He keeps looking around, he looks in one class and sees a few kids just sitting around. When he notices a young girl she looks at him, and before anyone else sees him he quickly moves towards his class. Though it was weird that the girl noticed him so quickly.

Now Yuma Stan’s in front of tall gray doors. He sighs as his only thought is ‘Screw you, Tachikawa’.
Mentally cursing still, Yuma slides open the door. “Excuse m-“ Yuma is cut off by a pencil case to the face. All previous chatter and noise comes to a halt as they look towards the unamused Yuma. Three jack asses in the back roar with laughter, however Yuma just sighs not having the energy to dealing with them as he walks to the front.
“Are you the teacher” He asks the lady beside him. “Ah yes!” Loud he thinks “Are you the new transfer student?” Yuma nods before the teacher then asks “Will you come up here and introduce yourself.” Reluctantly, Yuma went over and did as she asks.
“Kuga Yuma, 16. I’m from a really small country that you wouldn’t know of, so save your breath and don’t ask.” Yuma calmly states, the fog coming out of his own mouth and making his eyes turn black for a moment. He looks around, it seems he made a bad expression, but he doesn’t care.
The class breaks out into whispers. “How rude!” “Man this guy is a jackass.” “Hope he doesn’t sit by me….” The reaction was odd to Yuma, but it slightly reminds him of the council back on Clavaria. Now he was annoyed but he just kept a calm expression, if they left him alone, Yuma would be happy with just that.
“Teacher!” It was a dirty blonde boy part of the jack asses from earlier. “He’s wearing a ring, that’s against the dress code.” The Teacher just smiles, “Thank you, but I am aware of that. Yuma has a reason and has already talked to the school about permission.”
The jerks face turns red, his smug grin falling off as the class giggles. The Teacher turns her attention back Yuma. “Yuma you will sit in the open desk over there.”
Yuma swiftly made his way to the desk, not bothering to greet nor recognize other students. Unknowingly, Yuma had just put himself on a certain Four-eyes danger list.
