Chapter Text

This is it, we're going to die Jayce thought to himself as he held onto Viktor. He’d rather die than live in a world without Viktor, without his partner, without the man he loves.

They were going to become stardust, is there even an afterlife waiting for them? It didn’t matter if there was or not, they were together and that’s all that mattered.

A white flash, then nothing.

Jayce opened his eyes, in front of him was a pale blue sky littered with clouds. He could feel blades of glass brushing against his skin. He listened quietly for a moment hearing birds chirping, leaves rustling and the breathing next to him.

He shot up looking to his side, there laid Viktor back into himself… mostly. His skin was as pale as it used to be, face as sharp and chiseled as ever. The only difference was his long brown and blond hair along with the giant scar on his chest, the scar Jayce made.

His hands brushed over the scar tears welling up in his eyes threatening to fall. “Jayce?” Viktor slowly opened his eyes, raising his arm to hold Jayce's cheek. He sat up and fell into Jayce, nuzzling his head into his neck.

“Jayce.” “Yes Viktor?” “Where are we?” Jayce looked up and took note of the two moons “Not runeterra”. The two decided that they should find some semblance of shelter. However there were some issues along the way, Viktor couldn't walk and it seemed the arcane took his staff.

The two found an abandoned shack, it was littered with canned goods and was in surprisingly good condition. “How long do you think it's been abandoned?” Viktor pondered “I'd say a good five years or more, the dust is thick” Jayce managed to get out before getting attacked by sneezes, though he didn’t mind because of the laughter from Viktor.

Viktor was sitting in an old armchair while Jayce was looking around. Viktor took note of all the books on the shelves and the broken picture frames on the floor. “Viktor!” “Yes?” Jayce walked in excitedly carrying an old wooden cane “It’s perfect” Viktor smiled. Jayce handed it over but Viktor found himself blushing at how much bigger Jayce’s hands were than his.

“There has to be a village nearby” Viktor said as he tested the cane. Jayce walked over and placed his hand on Viktor’s cheek “we need to rest” Viktor found himself leaning into the comfortable warmth his hand emitted “rest sounds… good”. Jayce showed him where the bedroom was but there was only one bed “I can take the couch” Jayce said rubbing the back of his neck “Absolutely not! We can simply share” Viktor scorned as he dragged Jayce to the bed.

The two got into the bed after Jayce beat the everloving living Shit out of it to get rid of the dust. They laid with their backs to each other, trying to stay as still as possible as to not disturb the other, “Viktor?” “Yes?” “Could we” Jayce paused “Cuddle?”. The two looked at each other, Viktor turned and opened his arms and Jayce slid into them. “What does this make us?” Viktor asked softly and Jayce moved to face him as he answered “We willingly died for each other, our hearts are woven together, in all timelines I love you”. Viktors eyes filled with tears and he squinted them to stop but it didn’t work. Viktor sobbed into Jayce’s chest uncontrollably as Jayce kissed his forehead and rubbed his back.

“I love you so much Jayce” Viktor mumbled between sobs “I know Viktor, I know”.

The two fell asleep like that, holding each other and mumbling “I love you’s”.

Morning came and Viktor realized the spot next to him was empty and cold. He got out of bed and saw Jayce wearing new clothes “Jayce?” Jayce looked at Viktor excitedly “there's a City by here! They somehow use the same currency and they're just as advanced as us!!”. Viktor smiled at his excitement. He walked over and kissed him on the cheek causing Jayce to go bright red “please tell me you bought food” Viktor said as he leaned into Jayce “Mhm” he hummed as he pointed to a paper bag on the counter.

Jayce pulled out two nicely wrapped sandwiches and handed one to Viktor, motioning for him to sit on the couch. They talked about the city Jayce had found. They had been jumping around the topic of last night.

They had been subconsciously drifting closer and closer. Their hips were now touching and a blanket of silence fell over them. “Viktor” Jayce whispered, despite the house being empty. Viktor cupped his face in his palms, the tips of his fingers brushing his hair.

Jayce ran his hand under Viktor’s shirt and palmed at his scar before bringing him close, their breath connecting, then their lips.

It was a gentle kiss, soft and loving. Years of pining for each other melted into that kiss. The anxiety that they had from this new world now seemed so distant. After all, how could you worry about anything when your lips are connected to the person you love over everything.

Jayce pulled away and started kissing his chin, earning a shocked gasp from his partner. Jayce went to kiss his neck when Viktor pushed him away. Viktor looked to the side embarrassed “I’m not sure I'm ready for… that yet, Jayce”. Jayce blushed and apologized, going back to kiss his cheek.

Viktor pulled him into a hug and laid down. “Aren’t I too heavy?” Jayce asked, worried but Viktor comforted him “You’re like a big weighted, heated blanket” the man under him was smiling, something he didn’t get to see often.

Jayce rested his head on Viktor’s chest, breathing in his scent, Roses. “You’re one of the first people i've actually been attracted to” Viktor laughed, petting Jayce’s hair. “What do you mean? Jayce pondered, “Well, I’m demi, I only find myself attracted to a person once I really know them.”. Jayce analyzed his statement for a moment, gathering his thoughts “So i'm attractive to you because you know my flaws?” Jayce’s researcher side was coming out and Viktor decided to entertain it.

“I know everything about you, and yes, your flaws made me fall in love with you”. Jayce blushed at the statement and buried his face into Viktors chest. “I love you” he mumbled against the soft material of Viktor’s shirt.

Viktor scratched his head, earning a soft sigh from the man on his chest.

Viktor whispered “I love you more”.
