Work Text:
In, out. In, out. In, out. In, out. In, out. In-
Cy blinks. As sweat drops roll off his face and stain his t-shirt, he tries to focus his blurred vision onto the face of the woman he's been thrusting into for a good 10 minutes. Very far from his best performance, but certainly not his worst. He just needs to catch his breath a little.
“Something wrong?” Mei asks, and while her voice says slight annoyance, her face says concern. She's rather good at noticing when he's dissociating.
“It's nothing, I'm just… I'm not feeling great today, sorry.” he says, wiping some sweat off his brow. “Would you mind if we…?”
Mei doesn't need to be asked more explicitly than that to jump into this routine. She nods, slaps his chest twice then lets him switch places with her, letting his back sink into the mattress as she straddles him like a cowgirl on her horse. Hopefully she won't mind putting in the work, she usually likes going at it Amazonian style. “Good for cardio”, she always says.
Well, Cy's heart is feeling a bit shit, right now. He's frankly embarrassed to still be lying about not knowing why that is. He's malnourished, he knows it. Can't keep much down lately. He's pretty thankful for Mei being such a health nut, actually, what with her hyper nutritious protein & vitamin shakes and whatnot. They help when he feels weak but can't muster up the appetite to eat anything substantial. But daily sludge can only do so much, even when saturated with dietary supplements.
He hates to admit it, but he misses being bigger. He misses feeling strong. Sure, he can run for great distances now, but he feels like he no longer has a core. Hollow inside.
The feeling is sometimes accentuated when they have sex, something about physical effort and arousal being a bad mix inside him nowadays. It's pretty aggravating, because Cy loves sex, and he loves having it often. Sure, there was a bit of a dry period after the divorce, but that was self-inflicted more than anything else. And yet, now that he's no longer just mere months into this committed relationship with Mei, he finds himself having a hard time keeping up with her, which is a real shame because she has the body of a goddess and a pornstar-tight cunt. It feels like such a waste not to be able to finish in those conditions. Well, at least he's still hard, which means Mei will be able to do it, ridding him of any potential guilt for the situation. She looks like she's having fun slamming her ass onto his hips, making sure to bottom out every time.
“...Are you doing reps on my cock?” Cy realizes in a mix of surprise and amusement. Mei huffs.
“Had to do my TedTalk today, couldn't find the time to hit the gym, thank you for volunteering to be both my coach and training machine.” she says dryly, the hint of a smile appearing on the corners of her lips. The way she's squeezing him with those insane Kegel muscles of hers tells him she's enjoying herself. He lets his head fall back on a pillow and sighs. It's funny that letting her be selfish feels comforting. He decides to give her a hand.
Mei is… good. She's a good girlfriend. Not the best by any means, but good enough that it doesn't feel outlandish that they've been dating for over 2 years now. Cy strongly doubts he can find anyone better than her without accidentally getting so close to Lynn's personality that it'll be too painful for it to work out. If anything, Mei's weirdly close to his mom, both background-wise and in terms of personality a little too. There's one bag he doesn't plan on unpacking.
In his defense, women who make it big in Tech often fit a certain profile. If you've met 3 of them, you've met all of them. Mei stands out a bit in that she took a liking to Cy before she knew who his parents were, which even with his credentials was a welcome sign of open-mindedness coming from someone of her class. His parents have yet to find one thing they dislike about her, even if he can tell his mother misses Lynn a little still.
He met her when her PhD advisor recommended him for advice on engineering issues. Mei’s into building AI-powered robots, but while she excels in the software aspect, she's a bit behind on hardware. Cy wasn't even that specialized in what she needed, but they still hit it off. It felt funny, being hit on by a “student” again after having stopped messing around like that for years, though it felt different with Mei- less forbidden, less scandalous. The fact she was double the age of most of his past girlfriends probably helped. He does like how youthful she is in spite of her maturity.
“Ah-! Fffuck. Yes .” Mei exhales as she strangles his dick before relaxing. Cy slowly pulls his hand away, his fingers covered in slick.
“That was surprisingly fast.” he comments.
“Shouldn't have pressed the magic button so much if you wanted me to take longer.” Mei shoots back with a mischievous grin. “Want me to finish you off?”
Cy looks up, pondering.
“Nah, you'll just get me more riled up and I'll want to have your ass next.” he muses. Mei frowns and gives him a weird smile.
“You're definitely not doing that while I'm sober.”
“Like I said.”
“Well, maybe another day.”
Like they've just finished playing cards or watching a TV show, she stands up and saunters off to the kitchen to boil some water, then comes back in to go pee in their bathroom.
“Not even closing the door? How scandalous.” Cy remarks.
“I'm feeling lazy, and you're kind of a pervert. I think you enjoy it, deep down.” Mei says, resting her head on her hands like she's having a very rich inner debate.
“Honestly, not that deep.”
“See? I'm an expert.”
Cy laughs in a huff. She does know him pretty well, doesn't she? More than he'd expect from someone who hasn't known him for all that long, all things considered. Consciously or subconsciously, she's been trying to prove her worth to him, to show that she's a good, safe alternative to his ex-wife. That they match. And they do, as much as is possible when dating someone “normal”. There won't be any other Lynns in his life, there can't be. Which is why Cy's a bit taken aback when Mei pops the question.
“When do you plan on proposing?” she asks right after flushing. What a romantic.
Cy blinks.
“I'm… Good question, I guess.” he mutters.
“You weren't planning to?” Mei asks, one eyebrow arched and her lavender soap scented hands on her hips.
He can't say he hasn't thought about it, as a potential future possibility or something. But he can't say he has thought a lot about it either.
“...You know how at some point in late Dexter, this one detective Dexter's sister has been dating for a year proposes to her and she's all ‘Woah that's way too fast for me and we're clearly not that close anyway’ and it kind of all goes to shit afterwards?” Cy asks.
Mei blinks.
“I've never watched that show.” she says.
“It's been a while, I don't even know if I even remember it correctly.” Cy mutters, scratching the back of his head.
“Again, never watched it.” Mei insists.
“My point is, are you sure you wanna settle for me? And let's be real here, it would be settling, this isn't lovey-dovey puppy love we're in.” Cy says.
Mei bites the inside of her cheek.
“I like you. You like me. I don't believe in Disney princesses anymore, you know? This is good enough. Ah, shit, water's boiling over, hang on-” Mei says before running off to the kitchen to turn off the heat.
“Do you want an infusion?” she yells.
“Sure.” Cy says a bit loudly before standing up and putting some briefs on before following his girlfriend to the kitchen.
“Marriage is for life, you know. Or that's the intent, at least.” he says, grabbing her hip as she puts a spoon filled with honey into his favorite mug.
“Here, take it. And I don't mind.” she mutters.
“What if you're wasting your youth on me?”
“Oh, come on, you're only…” Mei says before quieting for a few seconds. “...19 years older than me. See, not that bad!”
Cy fake gasps, clutching at his heart like he's been wounded.
“You had to pause and think about it! And here I thought you were a Math genius.” he says gravely.
“Shut up, I'm tired. And I don't mind .” she repeats.
“The age of the daughter I don't have and after a diamond ring… Oh, I’m almost tempted to call you a gold digger.”
“My net worth is gonna be at least 10 times yours in just a few years, you'll be the one taking out a life insurance policy on me.” she says smugly.
After taking a sip of the herbal tea, Cy leans in to kiss Mei's neck, only to bite at it a little.
“Ah!”
“Still got some life in you.”
Mei pushes him off, her cheeks flushed.
“Not for long if you do things to me while I'm naked and holding boiled water. Can you imagine if I got burned? Ugh, I don't want any ugly scars.” she whines before taking a sip out of her own mug.
Like the implication of what she just said only hits her after she's drank some tea, Mei's eyebrows jump a little. Carefully, she sets the mug down on a table and walks to the hallway of their apartment to look at herself through the wall-sized mirror installed there. Very intently, she twists and turns in front of it like a snake, studying her own body in every angle she can get.
“...Would you really be settling for me?” she asks, her eyebrows furrowed as she feels her breasts. She'd never admit to it, but Cy is almost 100% sure she's gotten work done, mostly bodyshaping done through fat transfers to make it look somewhat realistic. He's still yet to meet someone with those breasts and this kind of waist-to-hip ratio who's all natural. He doesn't really mind.
“I'd say not to take it personally, but it is marriage we're talking about. And while I don't believe in Disney princesses either, I don't know that I love you like a husband should. Not sentimental enough. No offense.”
Mei shrugs.
“My biggest clients are the US military, I know what I make is being used for. I don't think sentimental is that important a criteria, in my case. But you like my ass, right?”
“I love your ass. Amazing shape.”
“Then what are you worried about?”
“Hm, nothing I guess.”
“Great!” Mei says with a shrug before walking up to Cy and hugging him. “I'm warning you, I may be a modern woman but no way in hell am I the one actually doing the proposal.”
Cy chuckles. Guess I'm proposing.
“How are you, patience-wise?” he asks.
“Make it happen within 2 years or I'll be extremely bummed out. Having a ‘boyfriend’ is pretty lame, I want a husband.”
“I guess I can do that, yeah.”
“2 years is super generous of me, by the way. Should've only given you one.”
“No take backs.”
“I want my riiing!”
“We can get you a ring next week.”
“With a diamond?”
“No, because then you'll tell everyone we're engaged. Emerald good enough for ya?”
“Maybe I am settling… AH!” Mei cries as Cy picks her up and throws her over his shoulder like a sack of flour before grabbing their mugs and walking back to their room.
Mei yelps like a tiny dog when she is unceremoniously dropped onto the bed then given her tea. Cy grins at her. She's put him in a mood. Enough that he's feeling more vigorous than usual.
“Another round?” he proposes.
“...Only because I really like you.” Mei grumbles before grabbing a bottle of lube from her nightstand.
She's right, sex is good cardio.
