“LEO!!!” Chilly ran as fast as he could towards his beloved.
“Chilly!” Leo put his arms out for his snowfriend, who jumped right in.
“Long day?” Chilly had a smug smile over his face.
“Finally encountered Kirby, he's a lot tougher than he seems.” Leo chuckled.
“Did you win?” Chilly caressed the other's face, knowing the answer.
“Absolutely not, I was instantly defeated, he had Waddle Doo’s power, I couldn't do much.” Leo rolled his eyes, “I was lucky he kept going, so, I respawned calmly.”
“Mmm, that's my hero~” Chilly joked.
Leo laughed, letting Chilly fall from his hands to the floor. Chilly quickly got up and giggled.
“You're a menace, Chilly.” Leo crossed his hands.
“But you love me either way, Leo.” He kissed Leo's forehead.
“You…” Leo tried to hide the obvious blush on his face.
“Come on, let's go home, silly.” Chilly grabbed Leo's hand and pulled him towards Waddle town.
The two were giggling and teasing each other the entire way, but as they arrived at Waddle town, something was clear to be wrong. There was a big storm cloud covering the small town, and it was striking down civilians and homes, wreaking havoc.
The two lovers, filled with determination and care for their town, ran to protect the people.
Chilly put out any fires that the lightning may have started, while attacking the cloud as much as he could. Leo helped keep everyone warm while still attacking the cloud with all his might. It was a hard fight.
As the fight developed, the cloud grew an eye and several golden horns, it was now clear they were fighting against the known Kracko, a rogue piece of Dark Matter.
Chilly sent out a frozen box at the cloud. Kracko responded with a lightning strike a bit too close. Leo launched a burning barrel at the evil cloud. The cloud responded with a river of rain, flooding a big part of the town, Leo escaped just in time.
Chilly froze over the flood and sent another frozen box at the cloud. Kracko, now angry, used a beam attack to hurt Chilly, who couldn't dodge.
“Chilly!” Leo called to him.
“N-no, go fight the cloud!!” Chilly called, “I'm fine, I swear!”
Leo, now also angry beyond anything he felt before, channeled all his inner strength and called upon a flame monster to get rid of Kracko. He then ran to Chilly, who was visibly unable to get up. Leo scooped up his lover in his arms.
“L-Leo…” Chilly’s voice was weak, his weakness causing his lover's fire to start melting his snow.
“Chilly…?” He responded, his voice full of fear and uncertainty, “p-please… don't leave me…”
“Leo, I love you…” Chilly could barely whisper.
“You're melting… Chilly, please don't go, I… I can't…” Leo's voice trailed off to tears of lava.
“Heh…” Chilly curled closer to Leo, “I think… even if I wasn't ice… and you weren't fire… you'd still make me melt…” he closed his eyes, feeling his own snow, now turned to water, running down his face.
Leo let out a gentle sob, holding Chilly closer, “I can't live without you… y-you’re… my everything…” he whispered.
Chilly just smiled, knowing that out of every way he could've died, being in his love's arms was the best option of them all. His mind focused on the burning sensation of Leo's hands over his body.
