It was a typical day for Sinbad Jr. as he gripped the helm of his sailboat as he sailed with his loyal feisty first mate, Salty the Parrot.
Being the teenaged son of the legendary Sinbad the Sailor, Sinbad Jr. had a lot to live up to.
Suddenly, a flash of shimmering color had descended from the sky. It was Peri, Sinbad Jr.'s thieving girlfriend on her flying carpet, her black hair whipping around her faced in the wind as she swooped towards the sailboat.
"Sinbad! Trouble!" Peri called out, her light brown skin flushed from panic. "Rotcoddam's at it again!"
Sinbad Jr.'s jaw tightened. Rotcoddam- that mad doctor- was a constant thorn on his side. "What's he up to this time?! he asked, already anticipating yet another bizarre scheme.
"He's kidnapping teenaged girls!"
"What?! Why?!"
"I don't know!" she yelled back. Afterward, the carpet rose up as she called back, "I'm gonna find out! I'll scout ahead!"
With that, the carpet soared away.
Sinbad Jr. exchanged a look with Salty. The parrot muttered, "Rotcoddam. Never a dull moment."
"Ready the sails, Salty! We're headed for Rotcoddam's island!" Sinbad Jr dramatically declared with a flourish, a familiar thrill coursing through his veins. Adventure was in his blood.
It didn't talk long to get to Rotcoddam's island. It didn't take long to find the chamber where Rotcoddam had imprisoned the girls, all looking terrified as thy huddled in a corner. And there in the arms of Rotcoddam's hulking stooge, Egoots was Peri, disarmed and struggling to escape.
"Rotcoddam! You won't get away with this!" Sinbad Jr. roared, his rage burning. He reached for his magic belt. When tightened, it bestows him with the strength of fifty men, temporarily giving him the physique of a Greek strongman.
He braced himself for the familiar surge of power.
Lightning crackled, illumining the lair. But something went terribly, horribly, hilariously wrong. The surge of power hit him and amplified his muscles to ridiculous proportions. But the energy pulsed though him, his clothes exploded... literally. He stood there, a teenaged mountain of rippling muscle, clad in the remaining scraps of his clothes that barely clung to his physique.
Sinbad looked completely mortified.
At least, his cap was still intact.
Rotcoddam blinked, his jaw dropped. The captive girls, previously huddled in fear suddenly straighten up, their eyes with appreciation. Peri, who struggled against Egoots's grip paused to giggle out, "Looking good, Sinbad!"
Sinbad flushed deep. The surge in power was exhilarating, but the attention was so awkward. He was used to battling monsters and outsmarting villains, not being the object of adoration.
Salty, meanwhile simply facepalmed, groaning, 'For the love of Poseidon, give me strength."
But the distraction gave Peri the opening she needed: she elbowed Egoots hard and managed to find her daggers.
"Get them!" Rotcoddam shrieked. Egoots did as he was ordered.
Despite his mortification, Sinbad Jr, reacted instantly and charged into the fray.
While Sinbad Jr. batted Egoots, Salty began work on freeing the girls, Peri busied herself with fighting that mad doctor in a braze of fury.
Soon, Rotcoddam and Egoots were tied up.
With the girls freed, the heroes wasted no time in leaving the island, all piling into the sailboat.
As they sailed away, Sinbad Jr.'s body was back to normal, but he was still in his tattered clothes. The girls all still giggled, all kept sneaking glances at him. Even Peri smirked at him.
Suddenly, Salty froze and turned to Peri, "Hey, wait a minute! How come you're sailing with us when you have a perfectly useful magic carpet?"
Peri grinned, eyes twinkling with mischief, "What can I say, Salty..." She then casually leaned back on the railing, saying, "The view is so much better from here." She then winked at her boyfriend as he lowered his cap's brim over his eyes out of embarrassment. Giggling and laughter filled the air. And Sinbad Jr. just knew that he was never going to live this down.
