Burning Embers in the Middle of a Trash fire of a Novel

Summary:

Tsuna died and then lived in the most unlikely world along with the brand of chaos he calls his.

In short: Airplane was really lucky that PeerlessCucumber was a sensible kid who does not like to prattle his frustration over trash novel to a carefree-yet a horror in itself sky.

Chapter 1: Lives he lived

Chapter Text

Tsunayoshi Sawada was only 30 years old when he died. Not too young or too old in mafia standards where day 1 of life could also be your death anniversary. And the only thing that came to his mind on his death was.... at least his younger siblings could take the mantle with less mess than he first took over.

Declared as well the heir of Vongola at the age of 15, he had to protect and cared for his family despite not really expecting to be someone important all his life. Crowned as Decimo who was officially given blessing by the founder to either prosper or burn their family, he burned for his loved ones. After 10 years of effort, he somehow whitewashes his family to the most shady things they do.

(—though it was practically impossible to truly be out of the underworld, Vongola had taken a neutral stance on illegal dealings. At least making sure that their own territory does not partake in such actions.)

He built Vongola an empire greater than what it was before he came. One that cannot be faulted easily. Feared yet respected through ways that the standard mafia standard does not apply—much to his tutor's pride.

With such heights he reached, he was a legend. No one could believe he had been a timid hopeless kid who was as much as trip on the air. He was the greatest under the greatest who had nurtured him.

Still Death was his constant companion. He always knew their presence in his life growing up even before Reborn crashed his mediocre life. It had tried multiple times to take him away, much closer to his skin when he was sealed and cannot really access his senses as normal people do.

So one night when an assassin came over and somehow successfully killed him, he was not surprised at all. He was easy to accept his death. He knew he would not live as long as Noni did, which he had convinced his parents to try for another child when he was 16.

As much as he does not like the chaos that was the mafia itself, Vongola is a pivotal pillar that cannot be without a leader. With a boss, the insanity it hosts will be manageable. Somehow make its people resemble normal people in the conventional society, a luxury he wrapped preciously and stuff to his people. That regardless of how messed up they are, Vongola is a home that accepts and lets them be themselves.

He knew the wrath and fury his bonds had when he felt his body slowly turn cold. He saw his tutor try his best to heal him, the man sporting a stoic face that he recognized to be him being worried about his well being. They came a long way, but there is no doubt his sadistic tutor is and him is not just a teacher and student as the years came by.

Bonds-wise, they are parental in nature. The strongest Sun took him as his own child at some point. Maybe it was only Reborn who stepped up and was a father to him that he treated him as his own father. Being a great man he is, there is no way the other cannot pick up on that. And unexpectedly responded in kind, by extension making him a child of the Arcobaleno due to some dynamics at work with the Strongest Seven.

He can feel all the flames that bonded to him burn as he was losing consciousness. And when Death fully embraced him with its waiting arms, he heard the world mourn. The Tri-ni-sette rippled in anguish as it felt a part of pillar slip away, only gaining a semble of stability as Vongola rings gripped his nearest kin as their new heir.

Perhaps he had done quite a lot in his life as Decimo, he somehow woke up again as a child again. This time not destined to be someone who will hold the sky for others. Only a normal child in a wealthy family who only needs to uphold a few expectations to live well.

Though there was an annoyance that comes with power and wealth, he does not need to fight or tire himself. He has a capable brother who will take the role of the family head. He just needs to live at the side without doing anything to threaten others or to be in the spotlight. It was nice that he could live a good-for-nothing and indulge in some old hobbies he enjoyed before Vongola came to him to take its bloody throne.

But the sky attraction was a bitch. His flames were still burning steadily inside of him even in this new life. There were no flame actives in this new life of his. It does not help that he was used to the constant presence of his family's flames lurking under his sky as Tsuna. His flames were basically going all out to get an element for himself to anchor itself.

This led to some complications, but he managed. Though it ended up with him having so few people in his life as he lived his life. He thinks he is happy with how things turned out.

With how skies are social in nature, thriving with the presence of those they consider theirs, it hurts when their people are suffering. Especially with something they cannot fix. This led to a great heartbreak to him and his own death at the age of 20 this time.

At the second death he experienced, he thought of his Family. Did they also feel the despair and soul deep pain when he died? If so, he wishes they were able to cope and live well after the ordeal. He wanted them happy and we'll from the Depths of heart and the core of his fire.

Perhaps, the experience had rooted inside of him and awakened something primal on his soul.

On the third time, he woke up again.

This time an orphan who does not have any name or wealth under him. Only a family who was superstitious to believe a charlatan's lies and abandoned him in the wilderness. A mountain child who survived on what can be gathered in the wild. No roots in a community and solely living for himself.

Good thing he had not forgotten Reborn's lessons. Little by little he built his life. It was a hardship to identify suspicious herbs whose effects were bizarre and... let's just say too absurd to be real.

Then there were these dangerous people who pass by once in a while who could literally crush mountains and reshape the lands. To his horror, he also learned there were also demons roaming around who were the mortal enemies of those passersby. He was ready to simply dig a hole and live there to avoid all these complications.

But alas, he is a human and not some ground potato. Reborn would be disappointed if he just chose the coward's way out. And besides he is a petty person himself (grew up to be one after dealing with the bullshit of his Family's brand of chaos), so he established his home in the middle of a mountain that was practically a forbidden place.

Sometimes he interacts with both sides and learns the world through them. His home somehow became a neutral land in the area which he was happy to see. Life is peaceful after his hard start.

Which is not a good sign at all. After all he is a Vongola no matter what life he lived. Peace is only a sign of something eldritch coming his way. And at this time, his flames sang in familiar hum as it reached towards another whom he lost in a lifetime ago.

And this started the gears to shift and run in a new possibility.
