Notes:

I've been struggling with procrastination, mental issues and IRL work, that's why I've been dead for so long.
I've also decided to start experimenting with new fandoms here and there, which explain this bolt-out-of-the-orange work.

Sorry to have been gone for so long (no seriously, I am). But I live again!

Chapter 1: A Peaceful Day, But Trouble Lurks

Chapter Text

“Okay Milli! Okay Geo! You’re all clear to start!” Bot’s voice called to the two kids he was the guardian of, Milli and Geo. With it once again being a pleasant day in Umi City, the trio had gone out to the park to train their powers a bit. Specifically Milli’s and Geo’s. Bot was pretty confident in himself. He was also confident enough to make this training into a kind of game. Actually, make that a game, period.

“Thank Bot!” Geo called back, before turning to his older sister of 2 years. “You ready Milli?” Milli smiled and nodded. “Go for it, Geo!”

“Alright then!” Geo tensed himself, before yelling out “SUPER SHAPES!” and using the power of his trusty (and only slightly rusty) Shape Belt to create a large, cyan-coloured sphere. Spheres were Geo’s favourite shape. And so were cubes. And square-based pyramids. And-okay, he loved them all the same.

“Nice sphere, Geo!” Milli approved, before bracing herself somewhat, her pigtails-normally used for measuring stuff-now lengthening and curving like snakes, or hands about to catch something. Like a sphere.

“Okay then, here it comes Milli!” Geo cried out, jumping up and tossing the sphere to Milli. In the blink of an eye, Milli leapt up and caught the sphere in her pigtails, before spinning around and, with a “HA”, tossing the sphere high, high into the air. And I do mean high-I mean like 10 feet off the ground. The sphere flew in the air for a second or so, before finally landing in the high branch of a tree. Just where Milli had aimed it.

“Woohoo! I did it!” Milli jumped for joy, her pigtails retracting back to their normal size. “Way to go Milli!” Bot came over, followed by Geo from the other side. “And Geo, incredible work on that sphere!”

“Thanks Bot.” Geo smiled, warmly. “Yeah, thanks Bot.” Milli also smiled, also warmly, before turning to her lil’ brother. “That Shape Belt of yours is awesome, Geo! I wish I had one too.” “And your Pigtail Power is amazing too Milli!” Geo looked up at her. “I wish I could do that too!” This, as a lot of things did, prompted a lil’ bit of giggling from the two.

“Alright you two.” Bot clapped his hands together to grab their attention. “You two have trained really well so far. What say we get some ice cream to celebrate?” This was met with instant “Yes”’s from the kids, which was met with an instant “Alrighty then, let’s go get some!” from Bot, as he led the way to the ice cream truck, hearing Milli and Geo resume their conversation about how awesome each other’s powers were, and wishing that they could use them too.

Unfortunately, their wishes were about to come true.

So here’s the thing. Little Trouble, or to those who never bothered to learn his name, Trouble on Legs, was out with his friend/partner, Big Trouble, or those those who never bothered to learn his name, Trouble on Legs (yes they had the same nickname). The two of them were sunning themselves on a park bench that afternoon, taking a break from all the trouble they usually caused.

But not for long.

“Ah…old chap, this day just couldn’t get any better.” Little Trouble sighed, tanning himself with the foldable mirror he’d brought with him that day, adjusting his sunglasses a bit. “You said it buddy.” Big Trouble adjusted his sunglasses too, under the shade of the parasol he’d brought with him.

“Well, nothing except…making some trouble!” Little Trouble had a sudden change of pace and tone, lowering his sunglasses the way he’d seen cool guys do in the movies, only towards his partner. “Heh, yeah!” Big trouble opted to lift his sunglasses over his head as he looked at his partner, before scanning the horizon. “Hey, there’s some kids skateboarding over there. What if we broke their skateboards?”

“No, we tried that already.” Little Trouble sighed, shaking his head.

“Okay, well…ooh! We could steal and eat those kids’ lunches!”

“We tried that already too.”

“Uh…OOH! What if we destroyed the moon-”

“We tried that too! Old chap, have you seriously forgotten everything we’ve ever tried?!” Little Trouble snapped at Big Trouble. Well, a fight might’ve broken out right then and there, but fortunately, the two happened to hear some very familiar voices from some distance away.

“You two have trained really well so far. What say we get some ice cream to celebrate?”

“Yes!”

“Yes!”

“Alrighty then, let’s go get some!”

That got the two’s attention.

“Well well well. Team Umizoomi! Out enjoying the day too.” Little Trouble remarked, watching the approaching trio. “Out for ice cream, are they?” He smirked, snatching a glance at the nearby ice cream truck.

“Looks like it.” Big Trouble replied. “Ooh! What if we deflate the ice cream truck’s wheels?! A-And fling all the ice cream everywhere?!”

“Hmm…” Little Trouble scratched his chin. “We could do that, or…” He said this next part as he whipped out his patented Trouble Ray. “...we could try out that new Mind-Swapping feature we put into our Trouble Rays!”

“Oh yeah!” Big Trouble whipped out his own Trouble Ray. “I’d forgotten we’d put those in! It was a really long time ago.”

“Chap, it was literally yesterday.” Little Trouble sigh-groaned, facepalming and shaking his head for extra effect. “Now come on! Team Umizoomi are coming closer, and we need to catch them, fast!”

“So, what do you two want?” Bot asked Milli and Geo as they got closer to the ice cream truck. “I think I’ll have strawberry and raspberry fudge ripple!” Milli licked her lips hungrily. Geo, however, was more excitable. “I think I’ll have chocolate, and strawberry, and vanilla, a-and cookie dough, and peppermint stick-”

“Okay, slow down there Geo!” Bot interrupted before Geo’s idea of an ice cream order could get too out of hand. “And as for me, I think I’ll have one of those ice cream pizzas you keep telling me about, Geo!”

Geo nodded eagerly at the idea. “You’ll love it, Bot. It looks kind of like a pizza, but it’s actually a giant cookie topped with vanilla ice cream-”

“HEY LOOK! BEHIND YOU! A DODECAHEDRON!” The Troublemakers suddenly yelled, hopping down from their bench right as Team Umizoomi was passing it, and pointing behind them. Geo’s hyperactive mind wasted no time in making him gasp and turn around and yell out “WHERE?!”, prompting the rest of his family to turn around too.

Only after the Troublemakers had yelled out “TROUBLE RAYS!” and zapped all three of them did it occur to Geo and co. that they had just been talking to the Troublemakers. In the next instant, the three were floating in sparkly orbs above the ground, each orb of their respective colours.

“What the-” Milli took a second to process. “Troublemakers!” She glared at the duo. “Put us down now!”

“I don’t think so, Pattern Idiot!” Little Trouble chuckled.

“My name’s not-”

“We’ll be taking your precious Bot with us now.” Little Trouble grinned, zapping his Trouble Ray again to drag Bot along behind him like a balloon on a string. “If you want to get him back, then meet us at the Shape Bandit’s old hideout. Old chap?”

Big Trouble giggled, before aiming his Trouble Ray at Milli and Geo, still floating in place. “Trouble you later!” And with that, he quickly zapped the two of them, sending them flying off into the distance, and in separate directions.

“MILLI! GEO!” Bot called out, desperate to reach them but unable to.

“BOT!” Milli and Geo called out, desperate to reach him but unable to.

But then another strange thing happened. As Milli and Geo, now only visible as pink and blue sparkly orbs, flew off, a strange mist came out of each orb. A pink mist from the pink orb, and a blue mist from the blue orb. Then, they flew out into the air, and eventually came to rest in their non-respective orbs-the pink mist flew into the blue orb, and the blue mist flew into the pink orb. Then the orbs continued to fly off, all the way to the very edges of Umi City.

“Well, looks like that’s worked just fine. Off we go then!” And with Little Trouble’s words, he and Big Trouble set off for the Shape Bandit’s old hideout, dragging a a still-trapped Bot behind them.

Who at this point, could only whimper an “Oh no…” and watch the horizon helplessly as he was dragged along by the Troublemakers.

Notes:

I'm trying to format this story like it's an actual episode of the show. Minus the "Umi-friend" stuff and the songs, because I feel like they wouldn't fit in here.
Hopefully I'm doing this right. Wish me well!

(also i put in a couple /refs to @yjhgvf and one of their works. here's a link to each one respectively.)
