Chapter Text
The very very beginning.
Did you hear about the narrator that went rogue? The fairytale world is declining as we know it.
Mhm, I’ve heard, that's all everyone's talking. He must’ve been banished right? I wonder what’ll they do about it. It’s not only narrators ya'know. More fairytale characters seem to be straying from their roles.
Well hush then. It seems like they’ll be deciding a solution soon.
The candlelight threw harsh shadows onto a series of very important looking people, sitting around a table.
The man at the head table stood up, making his chair screech. “I’m assuming that everyone here is aware of why we have gathered here.”
“Yes Quill we’re all aware. Can we cut to the end?” Said Mrs.White, imploringly, pinching the bridge of her nose.
“Here, here!” quipped the White Queen. Her cousin, the Red Queen nodded her head in a rare agreement, clutching her cup of tea.
The council burst into a chorus of low voiced concerns.
“Did you know I had villagers rioting outside the castle saying that it’s high time my family stepped down? Are they aware of the consequences?!” came the frustrated voice of Mrs. Beauty, the Sleeping one. Not the one who married the beast.
“Fairytale is on the decline.” drawled the evil fairy, who, as usual, showed up uninvited. “More and more people are refusing to uphold tradition and follow their parents' fairytale steps. Narrators are bending stories to their whim. What next? People taking over other’s stories?”
“Magic isn’t as it used to be.” ventured one of the god-fairies timidly. “Some fairy children aren’t able to fly. It hasn’t happened enough to cause panic but… ”
She left the rest unspoken as she gazed up at him.
Quill Grimm took in the worried faces of the fairytale representatives and sighed.
“I have something else to tell you all.”
A collective groan.
Oh no. More bad news?
Obviously, but you’ll need to be quiet! I'm trying to narrate over here.
“Off with both of your heads!” Shouted the Red Queen.
