Ephemeral Torment

Summary:

It was a normally fine day in the suitcase to say the least. It was fairly cloudy, a tinge of sunlight and slight wind. An ideal type of weather to wake up to in the morning.

For Oliver Fog, it was rather different for him.

Or

Oliver fog wakes up and realizes he has the hanahaki disease and that he likes a certain handcuffed maid

Notes:

Hi there!! If anyone gaf it's me, Arisu aka that ONE satsuki fan from tiktok

So I got the idea for this fic when I posted abt my rarepairs of and most of my friends liked her with Oliver fog lmao. I wrote this fic when I first started out in r1999 fics so this is pretty old (about 7 months but I only posted ts now)

Do I even need a valid reason to like them? I dont think so lol. They are just so silly <33

Also ts is lowkey kinda rushed

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

It was a normally fine day in the suitcase to say the least. It was fairly cloudy, a tinge of sunlight and slight wind. An ideal type of weather to wake up to in the morning.

For Oliver Fog, it was rather different for him. He woke up to an unsightly series of flower petals surrounding him, enveloping the clamped space on his bed. They were topped off by a measly amount of blood, and it didn't take him too long to notice the blood dripping from his chin.

Then, he was also accompanied by excruciating chest pains, and continuing to cough up flower petals on his way to the bathroom.

He gently washed his chin, but the petals wouldn't stop. The more he kept coughing the worse the pain it would get. “Ugh..” he mutters to himself, as if whispering. Subtle noises of his heavy breathing could be heard. As he walked into the living room, where everyone else is in, he sat on the couch lifelessly, as if pale, though, it was hardly noticeable.

Deep inside, he had hoped for the agonizing pain to stop, making efforts to endure the extreme discomfort from his chest. Vertin strolls towards Oliver, out of curiosity, she tilts her head to face his. “Are you feeling alright today? I sense…something different with you.” She inquired.

“There's nothing wrong. It's just…Nevermind.” Oliver responds reluctantly. “You just woke up. Maybe you haven't eaten yet.” Vertin adds.

“No, really…I-I’m fine..” He says to the Timekeeper.

He continued to stroll in the suitcase, feeling slightly better after a few minutes of rest, but it's not like he has truly alleviated his internal pain. As he sits on a bench, he witnesses Necrologist and Satsuki conversing on a nearby bench. “Ms. Satsuki, good morning. I was waiting for you here.” The former said. “O-oh.. Sorry if I kept you waiting though. Anyway, here's the breakfast I promised us to eat together, Ms. Necrologist.” Satsuki took out two small boxes, one for her, and another for her companion, as they ate and also talked. Unnoticeably, she had her eyes fixated on Oliver, feeling slight concern. The latter had just been staring around the “Wilderness”, but immediately came to a halt as he couldn't help but notice Satsuki staring at him. Satsuki noticed, but perhaps she got nervous, since right after that she blushed profusely and looked away.

Oliver's measly chest pains returned, and he started coughing again. The last thing he saw before he passed out was the blurry image of flower petals on the ground, slightly covered in blood, and hearing the voice of Satsuki’s concerned cries as she and Necrologist approached him.

He had ended up in a different bedroom while he was unconscious. The concerned Satsuki could only do nothing but to look after him as he slept on her bed. She took a few steps and patted his head gently. Then, she caressed his soft face and rested slightly on it, her tender lips touching his. It wasn't long until Satsuki realized what she had done, and regretted it instantly. “Oh..I-I’m so sorry. I was a little carried away.” She muttered to herself, though she knew he had not heard her.

Oliver woke up, but he was met with the sight of Satsuki leaving the room. He noticed that his chest wasn't aching anymore, and he continued to contemplate on why. He blushes slightly at the thought of what Satsuki might've done to him while he was asleep.

Notes:

Even tho this is just a short oneshot I actually refused to sleep while writing ts. I think it was around 12 to 2 am?? I don't really remember.

But I hope you enjoyed!! I'll probably make more fics like these for my satsuki rarepairs xd.
