Chapter Text
-Seungmin's POV-
You and I, we stand together
And look into each other
Without words, without speech, it's good
Because now we have each other
There are things I’ve always known but never said.
Things that lived in the quiet between our footsteps,
in the hush of a sunrise that finds its way through the blinds.
Hyunjin knows this.
He always has.
We’ve stood together a thousand times.
At the train station when the last train has gone and neither of us wants to be the first to leave.
In the kitchen, while the tea steeps in silence, while the moonlight pours across his cheekbones.
In the crowd, eyes locking from across the room,
as if we’re two stars orbiting one sky.
There’s something divine in the way we look at each other.
A sacred pause.
An unshaken belief that presence alone
is enough.
Without words, without speech, it's good
Because now we have each other.
I never knew how to say things like "I love you."
The words feel too fragile, too easily broken or stolen.
I imagine them caught in the wind—
spun away and lost before they ever land in his hands.
So I carry my love in silence.
I’ve long grown used
To carrying feelings in my eyes
When they cease to shine
That’s when love will extinguish
I watch him brush his hair in the morning.
The sun curls around his silhouette,
and my eyes—oh, my eyes—
they hold everything I can never say.
He catches me looking. He always does.
A smile, soft and knowing, grazes his lips.
His voice dances lightly:
“You always look at me like that.”
I just shrug.
He laughs,
but he never pushes.
Because Hyunjin understands silence the way musicians understand rests.
It’s not absence. It’s presence in a different form.
And my love—
it lives in the quiet.
I remember once,
he stood in front of me,
bare feet on the wooden floor,
a sweater slipping from his collarbone.
He asked me,
“Do you love me?”
And I—
I only looked.
He waited.
Then he nodded, as if that was enough.
It was.
For both of us.
I won’t say “I love you”
The words will be voiceless
So the wind won’t steal them
A pure, pure feeling
I’ll drown it quietly
And carry it in my heart
Hyunjin paints sometimes.
Not often—only when something is too heavy,
too beautiful,
too stormy inside him to be touched by words.
One night, while he was asleep,
I stood in front of one of his canvases.
It was chaos and softness all at once.
A skyline blurred by dusk.
Two silhouettes beneath one umbrella.
A splash of gold in the eyes of one.
My eyes.
He had painted my eyes.
Lit by something only he seemed able to see.
I sat on the floor beside it, knees to my chest,
and stayed there until the sun started to rise.
I think I cried. Quietly.
Not because I was sad,
but because I never knew how someone could see me
so clearly.
I won’t say “I love you”
The words will be voiceless
So the wind won’t steal them
A pure, pure feeling
I’ll drown it quietly
And carry it for a long time
There are moments that stay with you,
like the echo of a song
long after the music has stopped.
There was a night we lay on the rooftop,
city lights like fallen stars beneath us.
He reached for my hand.
I let him take it.
I didn’t look at him—
but he looked at me.
“Do you ever get scared?” he asked.
I thought of all the things I never said,
all the feelings I wore like glass in my eyes,
all the love I buried so it wouldn’t break.
I nodded.
He tightened his fingers around mine.
“I’m not.”
He smiled.
“Because I see it in your eyes.”
You know, I couldn’t
Measure or describe love
Let the light in my eyes be
The hottest lines I’ve ever written
People think I’m distant.
Cold, sometimes.
But Hyunjin never has.
He says I speak in gestures,
in breaths,
in the way I set a second mug on the table when he hasn’t asked,
in the way I always remember to buy the gum he likes,
in the way I brush snow off his coat without a word.
He says I love loudly
in a quiet world.
And that is the most beautiful thing he’s ever said to me.
I write songs,
but I never write about us.
Not really.
Because it feels too raw.
Too real.
Too close to the part of me I only show when he’s asleep beside me,
when I press my lips to his knuckles
and whisper nothing,
everything,
into the hush of our shared breath.
Tomorrow won’t be like today
You’ll ask me if I still love
Then look into my eyes
Do they shine, or not?
Some mornings, he asks:
“Will you still love me tomorrow?”
I never answer with words.
But I brush his hair from his forehead.
I let my eyes meet his,
glow steady and warm.
I let him read the answer there.
Do they shine, or not?
They do.
Because of him.
Sometimes I wonder if the world sees what I see.
The way he carries himself like a poem walking upright.
The way he lights a room, not with volume,
but with soul.
He’s the kind of person who loves out loud.
Who says “I love you” without flinching.
Who dances when the music’s too loud.
Who kisses my cheek while I’m mid-sentence.
And I—
I stand there, silent, heart bursting,
not knowing how to hold the hurricane of his love
except to cradle it in my palms
and press it gently to my chest.
I won’t say “I love you”
The words will be voiceless
So the wind won’t steal them
A pure, pure feeling
I’ll drown it quietly
And carry it in my heart
There was a night it rained.
The sky cracked open with thunder,
and he woke with a start.
I pulled him into my chest,
wrapped my arms around him like armor.
I held him tighter,
until his breaths slowed,
until the storm passed both outside and in.
The next morning,
I kissed his temple
while he pretended not to notice.
That’s my way.
That’s how I love.
You and I, we stand together
And look into each other
Without words, without speech, it's good
Because now we have each other
There’s a tree outside our window.
In spring, it blossoms like a secret whispered only to the sky.
Hyunjin loves it.
He says it reminds him of the way I look at him.
Quiet.
Slow.
Like I’m memorizing him
in every breath of every second.
And maybe I am.
Love isn’t loud for me.
It’s not grand.
It’s not fireworks and declarations.
It’s the way I make sure his scarf is wrapped twice in winter.
It’s the way I never let him go to sleep sad.
It’s the way I look at him—
like he hung the stars just for me.
He sees it.
He always has.
And that’s enough.
That’s love.
Tomorrow won’t be like today,
You’ll ask me if I still love,
Then look into my eyes—
Do they shine, or not?
They do.
Because of you, Hyunjin.
Always because of you.
I’ll carry it quietly.
And I’ll carry it forever.
Even if I never say it out loud.
Even if the wind tries to steal it.
Because in my eyes,
you’ll always find
the truth.
