Work Text:
Even before they got together, Lisa had never really minded Pippa’s teasing or pranks. Sure, they’d sometimes leave her screaming her head off at the yabbit, but, in the end, they were what made Pippa Pippa, so she had long since accepted them. However, she couldn’t say the same about the girl’s drinking habits.
Pippa wasn’t a chronic drinker or anything. In fact, she really only drank at social gatherings and events. On its own, this would’ve been fine, but this was Literally Every Single Social Event. It was ironic, too, since Pippa often opted to avoid interacting with random people in the first place, but — thinking back on it, the rabbit probably drank just to make it through these interactions.
This meant that Lisa often found herself coddling the drunken bunny after her nights out, but — after doing that too many times, the rabbit had come to expect it.
“Leeesa~” The pink rabbit drawls as she opens Lisa’s bedroom door. Pippa was dressed in the same pink summer dress that she’d gone out in, her body was slightly slumped against the doorframe, and her eyes stared drowsily at the sheepy before her.
“Can you hold me?” Pippa slurs. She trudges over to the girl, stopping right beside her chair to stares up at her. She waits for an answer.
Lisa turns towards her, a small pout on her lips. In all honesty, she’d love to dote on the tipsy little bunny right now, but… She glances back at all the papers in front of her and lets out a dejected hum. “Pippa…” She whimpers. “I don’t think I can right now. I’m sorry…”
See, after being dropped off by Tenma, (who had apparently drunk the same amount as her) Lisa had brought the wasted bunny to her bedroom, gave her some water to drink, and — after listening to her drunken rambles — put the girl to bed. She was hoping that, with Pippa asleep, she could continue on her homework, but that didn’t seem to be the case.
Pippa slips in front of Lisa. She plants a leg on one side of the girl as the other slides over to the other side. She puts on her best pouty face, knowing it’d work on the girl. Pippa folds her bunny ears, shows off her pleading eyes, and gives Lisa her best frown. “C’mon, Lisa…” She scoots closer in the girl’s lap. “Don’t you love me anymore?”
“What? Of course I do, Pippa!” Lisa frantically tries to reassure her.
Pippa’s ears shoot straight up, her smug smile instantly returning. “I know you do, Lisa” She arrogantly proclaims. Pippa sits up straight, matching Lisa’s height before planting a chaste, alcohol tasting kiss on the girl’s lips. She pulls away, taking note of the girl’s flustered expression before collapsing onto her chest.
“W-what the heck, Pippa? What was that for!?” She whispers out a shout.
“I just wanted to see your reaction” Pippa’s drunken snicker is muffled by Lisa’s shirt. Lisa grumbles, finding it hard to actually be angry at the girl. “So” She starts. “You’ll do it, right, Lisa?”
A flustered groan leaks from Lisa’s lips. “I guess I will...” She puts down the pen she was holding, pushing the papers away and dragging her distraction closer. She circles her arms around Pippa, planting them on the girl’s waist. Her hand slightly brushes against the rabbit’s tail as the girl lets a satisfied hum.
Pippa tilts her head upwards, exposing that adorable, smug smile. Slowly, she lifts her arms up to Lisa's neck, looping them around it and reciprocating the hug. The two silently stare at one another for a moment before Pippa breaks the silence between them.
“You’re forgetting the ears, Lisa”
“Do I really have to?” Lisa mumbles.
“So you do hate me, huh, Lisa?” She even doesn’t bother to act depressed this time. She holds the same smug smile, knowing full well that her plan would work again. Lisa’s flustered groan only proved she was right.
Lisa’s hand trails up to the rabbit’s hair, snugly planting itself between the pink locks. Slowly, her hand runs through the girl’s hair, smoothing down the long fluffy ears that stood in her way before drawing itself back. She repeats the motion, indulging as the rabbit’s purr-like hum.
Pippa’s eyelids slowly drop. Her heart rate falls as her breathing relaxes. She slumps further into Lisa’s arms, never dropping that satisfied look on her face as she slowly passes out.
Lisa looks down at her for a minute, continuing her petting with a soft smile on her face. She wanted to keep this going forever but, sadly, there were things she needed to do.
Lisa eyes the bed behind her, formulating her plan. She would carefully carry Pippa to her bed, lay her down in it, and then — once she was done with her work — join her.
Pippa’s humming stops the second Lisa stops petting her. Lisa freezes, worried that the girl might wake up. Once she confirms the girl was still sleeping, she lets out a sigh of relief. “I’m sorry, Pippa” She whispers.
Lisa unwraps her arm from Pippa’s waist before reorienting them. She plants an arm below Pippa’s neck and the other under her legs, rotating her at the same time. She stands up, slowly, making sure to not wake the girl. “This is so embarrassing, Pippa” She whines. If the rabbit was awake, she would definitely be making fun of her right now.
Carefully, Lisa waddles towards the bed before laying the bunny down. She rests her head on the pillow, but decides against covering the girl for now. Pippa seemed fine, maybe a bit less smug than before, but fine nonetheless. The redness in her cheeks was beginning to fade away, too, meaning that she was hopefully sobering up.
Lisa, regretfully returns to her desk. She slaves away at her work for another few hours. But, the second she finishes her, she instantly hops into bed with Pippa. She slots her arms around the girl and pulls her close, joining the girl in her sleep.
Naturally, this led to Pippa complaining in the morning, letting out a few “Let go of me, Lisa!”s and “I can’t move, Lisa!”s, but she eventually gave up and allowed her hungover self to be sleepy with the sheepy.
