Chapter Text
Prologue
Whispers ripple through Newmar's cobblestone streets...
“Did you hear the rumor?”
“Oh, about the wolf in the woods?”
“They say it’s been captured.”
“I heard the priest drove it away!”
“No, no—someone said it passed out in the street!”
“Not true. It was caught stealing from a vendor’s stall!”
“Hah! Serves them right. About time they paid for what they did.”
---
Deep within the castle's fortified walls, a young girl sits in a dimly lit cell. Chains lie broken at her feet, the iron links twisted and scorched. Her eyes, once pleading, now gleam with a cold, unsettling light.
She smirks, her voice a haunting whisper. “Fools. They think they've caged the beast.”
The guards outside her cell exchange uneasy glances, the tales of the wolf still fresh in their minds.
---
A week prior, the town of Newmar was abuzz with tales of a monstrous creature lurking in the woods. Whispers spoke of glowing eyes, guttural growls, and villagers disappearing without a trace.
Determined to protect his people, Prince Lunar assembled his elite guards. They ventured into the forest, tracking the beast through twisted thickets and shadowed glades.
After days of pursuit, they found her—a girl, seemingly lost and frightened. But as they approached, her facade cracked. Eyes glowing, she unleashed a force that sent seasoned warriors sprawling.
It was only through a combined effort, invoking ancient rites and binding spells, that they subdued her. Chains forged from enchanted silver held her, and they brought her back to the castle, believing the threat contained.
---
In the depths of the castle, the girl waits. The chains that once held her lie in ruins, their magic drained. She paces the cell, each step echoing with intent.
Memories flood her mind—of the forest, of the hunt, of the moment her true nature was unveiled. She recalls the fear in Lunar's eyes, the desperation in the guards' chants.
But now, the tables have turned. The beast is awake, and the castle's walls won't hold her for long.
