Work Text:
Ravi’s day started out so good.
The sun is shining, no clouds in the sky. The sound of notification that his salary has arrived to his bank account fills his ears. The result of Buck’s stress baking once again covering the dining table in the loft.
What could possibly go wrong-
An earthquake. An earthquake happens.
It’s not even that bad. Just a minor one.
But then they are in a building that was having difficulty withstanding said minor quake.
Him, Buck and Eddie.
Then a second, stronger one hit.
And the building gave out even more, making them fall and tapped under the rubble.
Ravi wouldn’t even consider this a bad situation. They got themselves in a relatively spacious rubble bubble. None of them got separated. No serious injury, only a possible dislocated ankle on Eddie.
He wants to be out of here as soon as possible. He is second away screaming for help like his life depends on it. Even though he knows from the radio that the others are actively working on getting them out.
It wouldn’t be that bad being trapped here… But the company. Oh, the company is the worst thing in this situation.
He wouldn't have any problem with being here with one or the other. But the two of them at the same time? He wishes the rubble would just squeeze him to death.
They don't stop for a second looking at each other lovingly. Their feelings are all written out on their face but for some reason both of them are illiterate to fucking read it.
Ravi is losing years of his life every second he needs to witness these idiots flirting and acting like a lovely couple, without realizing what they are doing. At this point he would believe it if they say they are purposefully ignoring the neon signs that are pointing at them.
“I swear to go if you two don’t pull your shit together right fucking now-” He finally snaps at them grabbing both of their attention, reminding them that he is also here, trapped, more than one way.
‘Hey, Ravi, don’t be like that. Calm yourself. We already tried our best, we have to have faith in the others that they will get us out.” Buck tries to reason with the outburst.
“That’s not about that!” he receives confused looks from both of them.
“Then what are you talking about?” Eddie asks?
“Can you two just kiss finally-” Ravi jump into the middle without any garnishing
“WE WHAT-” Buck shrieks.
“- instead of dancing around each other?!” he continues without a break, completely ignoring the reactions. He will not be silenced. “God, when I started working here I thought that you two were married. Do you know how shocking it was when I mentioned this to Hen and she told me that you are not?! Not just that you are not married, but that you are not even together.” With every sentence he just gets more and more heated. “HOW! It’s. Been. Years. And you two? Still fucking oblivious to your own feelings. Everyday I lose more of my sanity just looking at you.” he sighs, dragging his hand down his face “If we are dying here, I don’t want my last minutes to be watching you two still fucking pining for each other.” he glares at them and continues with a pleading voice “So please, spare me of my misery and either kill me right now or make some fucking progress!” he deflates, his back against some wooden furniture.
Silence settles between them, the words echoing in all of their ears. It takes a minute before any kind of reaction but then.
“What-” Buck finally comes back online, rising to his knees from sitting “You don’t even know what you are talking about-” he tries.
“Buck, wanna go out with me?” Eddies says at the same time, turning to him.
“Excuse me-” Buck wipes his head from Ravi to look at the man next to him, the words not even fully registering.
“So no?” Brown puppy eyes looking back at him.
“NO! I mean- You- I-” he fumbles with his words, and his butt falls back to the ground defeated “Why are you entertaining him?” he asks at the end, not actually answering the question.
“He has a point” Eddie shrugs his shoulders.
“SEE!” Ravi gestures at him while he looks at Buck.
“What point?” he laughs nervously, “I already said it a thousand times! How could I be in love with you? You are straight!” He is hoping for Eddie to back him up, as usual, but it doesn’t happen.
“Really that’s his best defence?” he looks at Ravi instead “Basing his case on outdated information?” He sounds amused.
“Oh, if you knew everything” Ravi rolls his eyes.
“Hold on” Buck chimes in “Outdated? What is exactly outdated?”
“The label of my sexuality.” He continues with a small but content smile, “I had time to think in the last few months, and realized some stuff that I have been trying to lock away for a really long time.”
“So what you are saying is that you are…?” His eyes have a different kind of spark to them.
“Gay? Yeah. Not the way I wanted to tell you, but at least it’s memorable” Eddie chuckles.
“Only if we get out alive to remember it” Ravi reminds them, he is starting to get lost in the moment too “What a story to tell at your wedding.”
“Aren’t we moving a little too fast? I’m still trying to process this whole things” Buck looks like his whole world just turned upside down from the look of it.
“Take your time cowboy, we are not going anywhere” Eddie pushes his shoulder playfully.
“Yeah, it’s not like this thing” Ravi vaguely just swings his hand in their direction, “ haven’t been going on for years.”
“I want a spring wedding,” Buck finally says.
Ravi just snorts at that.
“What happened with moving too fast?” Eddie teases, “You didn't even agree to a date with me yet, but yeah, sure let's plan our wedding” the adoring tone seeps through the pretended annoyance.
“I mean,” Buck starts, “we live together. We have been raising Chris together. I’m in your will.” He lists, finally understanding the weight of these things as the words leave his mouth. With a smaller voice he continues, “Do we really in need of a date when we already have everything?” He looks at Eddie with a content smile and he finally looks relaxed.
And Eddie… He just melts looking at him and smiles back with the same admiration on his face. He raises his hand toward him. Buck without any complaints, and with a soft giggle, shifts closer and leans over him.
Eddie’s hand rests on his cheek. bruising over the dusty skin.
“So?” Eddie asks a second later, only a few centimetres between their faces.
“Yes,” Buck breaths, “When it’s you, the answer is yes.”
They both move forward. Their lips meeting in the middle in a small peck. They hold each other's gaze even after they part.
They finally have each other. They already had each other for a long time, but still, this is a change. A change which is more than welcome. A change that has been hanging above them for a long time. A change that doesn't actually change anything and at the same time changes everything-.
“FINALLY!” Ravi exclaims with a tried groan, which brings the love birds out of their bubble. Wouldn’t be a bold claim that they even forget that he is there, “Please keep it PG while we are down here. I don’t need to get more traumatized by your relationship then I already am.”
“Oh, shut up, Ravi! If anything you caused this for yourself” Bucks grins at him.
“I agree on that with my boyfriend,” Eddie hums.
“You will be just more unbearable now, won't you” Ravi is praying for his release to whichever god is listening.
“As I said, It’s your own fault”
