Chapter 1
Kio had looked outside the jail cell. He had leaned inside, outside being dark. There was nothing that he could see. He had never felt such uncertainty and fear of what they might do to him coursed through his mind.
He had never thought that he would be captured, or rather like this. He had never felt such fear or even uncertainty.
Torture, was the most common. It was the most logical answer. Why would someone just kill you if you had valuable information.
However, what kind, that had made his mind numb. Vagan never captured a person before—or rather what was within his knowledge. Their methods were unknown.
However, he had the certainty that they were harsh. If they had wanted to start a war causing so much death, than it was nothing to torture another child.
Just then, the door opened. He looked up coming to face with a harsh man. His stare had further scared Kio, he had to be a leader or a superior to be able to enter this place.
"Take him outside," he said. The guards had their hands on his arms, taking him from the cell. Before that, they made sure that his hands had been bound.
Carrying him to another room. It had been a nice change from the dark cell, as there was light here. Kio had observed the room he had been taken to, a desk with a table. Papers were stacked neatly there. The man that had taken him out was now seating.
He guessed that he was in an office of sorts. The man looked at him, almost as though he had been looking at someone that was long gone. Kio had founded it strange at first but now it was a discomfort.
To be stared at as though there was something wrong with you was very unnerving.
The man had noted his discomfort thinking it was annoyance, and refrained from doing so.
Kio was unsure, even though he shouldn't be the one asking questions but he opened his mouth, "why did you call me here."
Half expecting the man to reply harshly, although there was some slight comfort as the expression on his face was that of surprise.
"Why have I called you here? Because I want to see who was piloting the Gundam," he explained. Something in Kio's mind gave him the feeling that this man was lying.
"Release him," he said. It was an order, the guards had showed signs of doubt.
"But Lord Ezelcant—"
"Do as I say!" He commanded, afraid of his wrath, they opened his locks. Even though he had never felt freedom like this.
"Get him a fresh set of clothing," he said. They nodded, he was unsure what this was. As he had never been captured, he was unsure what he should do.
They had obeyed. And left the room. "You must be curious as to why I'm treating you so well?"
He nodded, being his only sign. He needed to be careful of every word that came out of his mouth.
"Well, I just want you to see the truth, the truth that had been hidden by the Federation and about us," he said. Kio did not know what he had meant, it was strange, his words were.
He was curious about this man. Whom he can ascertain that he was of high rank—nope the leader. As the way he was addressed, it had shown.
Kio could make the connections. However, the reason behind his well treatment and even possibility of temporary freedom, that had made little sense.
Doubts began to creep. He did not understand, why was he treated so well. If he was, then why had they massacred so many.
Not long after, a fresh set of clothes arrived. The guards had brought him to the toilet, as he had changed.
"What is it with Lord Ezelcant?" He had heard. As he changed.
"He is the enemy, the pilot of the cause of our headaches I don't get it," he said.
"Who knows?" He asked. "It's the lord wish, it's not as though we can just ignore, although it makes no sense at all."
Kio had finished changing, now he was dressed in a white shirt over a blue tunic and a pair of beige pants. He walked out of the room, as they kept quiet.
Escorting him back was easy, as he just walked along. When they returned Lord Ezelcant still sat down.
Upon sight of Kio, he said, "leave." They nodded and left the room. Upon so, entering a woman. She had dark black hair, wearing a long purple dress.
She gazed upon the boy before her. Upon seeing him, a part of her eyes were soft and sad. Kio could see it, the way she looked at him it was the way that a mother would look at the son. Kio could not see through it.
As he just looked forward, Lord Ezelcant said, "bring him to the city." They nodded before grabbing him, Lord Ezelcant's every action being baffling.
The soldiers after their commander's questionable commands, did not question as enough had made them shut up.
What would await me outside? Kio thought as he was being followed, just as he continued to walk.
