Chapter Text

I hated mixers. It felt like speed dating and no one I had ever known kept a relationship out of them. Whenever my coworkers went out to mingle, they always came back with stories of one-night stands or a relationship that would only last a few months before falling apart. It always ended in trouble, and I didn’t even want to bother with it... but I had to. My going away party from the police station was a mixer. One last blind shot from my fellow officers to try and set me up with someone nice before going to my new job.

Mixed Feelings

Author: Satashi    Commissioner: ShioRavenQueen

Liz swirled the drink she was holding in an overhanded position, watching as the thick amber liquid spun around in the glass. She was in a position she normally had with Calliope while drinking at the bar; hunched over, eyes staring but not seeing. Only normally it was in the good company of someone who had fought and bled with her on the force.

Now she was just at a table with people she didn’t know or understand.

A bump to her side made her look over and give an awkward smile to the pink-haired girl she had just been thinking about. “Relax,” Calli said in a soft voice meant for only them. Despite being at a huge table, Korean barbeque style, their voice was low and smooth so as not to draw attention. “This is to help you.”

“Help me find a date, perhaps.” Liz still offered a light grin toward her partner of several years. “Not everyone can be as lucky as you and find the love of their life after mistakenly cuffing them at a coffee shop for a crime they didn’t commit.”

Calli snorted. “Don’t remind me. Lui chewed me out hard for that one. Put me on paper duty for a week.” The two shared a smile before the pink haired girl gave their friend a solid pat on the back. “Relax and mingle, Liz. People like us have trouble getting back into society. This will help you ease back into civilian life. Take advantage of it.”

“Yeah... Just need to clear my head.” She moved before her friend could stop her, pushing up from the table and giving a half-conscious smile to those glancing her way. “Not leaving,” she assured her coworkers who joined in on the attempt to set her up with one of the many people there. “Getting some fresh air.”

She was, by all means, leaving. At least in the sense that she was getting away from the loud table, the single people looking for love, and the conflicting smells. Her nose was especially sharp so having a large group of alphas, omegas, and spiced meats all together made for a concoction of scents that muddled her mind.

The restaurant was large and spanned two floors. The top, which she was at, had a balcony that looked over a nice garden at the back. Even in the middle of town, there was a small place to get some peace and quiet, even if you had to pay for an expensive meal to get there. The area she was heading to was open to the public, so those who had a little too much to drink could sober up before returning to their designated parties.

The spacious balcony only had one person occupying it at the moment. A female in a sparkling dress was looking up at the moon. Large cat ears were on their head and a tail swung down behind them through a special cutout on their gown that not only gave it room to sway freely but helped not reveal too much of their curvy backside while doing so.

Must be a pure blood.’ Liz took them in while quickly observing the area around herself. No one else was near, there weren’t any signs of potential conflict, and her senses for danger were quiet. She wasn’t sure how long it would take her to get out of the habit of scanning her surroundings now that she was no longer an enforcer but for the moment she just tried to calmly walk over to the woman who she could now identify as an omega from their pheromones.

“Oh... Hello.” Their voice was soft and held an accent that Liz wasn’t quite sure where to pin exactly. “Are you escaping the mixer too?”

A smile tugged at the woman’s lips upon hearing that. “Yeah, I’m... Not really into the whole speed dating thing.”

“Ughhryaaa!” The annoyed sound was more cute than frustrating sounding, at least to Liz’s ears. “Me too! I’m going to them because my parents want me to find someone nice, but I keep saying: Mommy, Daddy, I’m a big girl, I can pick out my own dates. But do they listen? Nyoooh!”

That was the cutest voice crack that the woman had ever heard in her life. “I understand where you’re coming from.” Deciding to make friends with this cat, she hunched a bit to lean onto the railing. Her own clothing was more tailored to be masculine than her counterpart’s. Slacks, a sharp looking dress top, and business flats with the slightest hint of elevation on the back to make them appear more feminine. It helped her not only be ready in case something happened but covered her cleavage so she could relax the way she was doing without fear of being indecent.

The woman next to her sighed softly. “Sorry. I get a bit carried away.”

“No, it’s fine. I feel you. My friends drag me to these all the time. Their heart is in the right place but I just don’t think I’ll find anyone at these.”

They turned to look at her fully and red eyes dipped to take in their attire more fully. Jewelry on their neck and fingers, makeup that looked professionally done, and heels that gave them enough height to come up to their chin. There was also a faint wisp of perfume that masked their scent from being identified fully, even by her sensitive nose.

“Would you want to get out of here?”

Liz’s eyebrow quirked up at the omega. “Together?”

“Yeah! You know, we tell our friends we found someone, we meet up, walk out and finito!”

Italian,’ she realized upon hearing the word. That would explain the accent. Yet there was something else she was more focused on at the moment. “I would much enjoy your company while getting out of here, but I must say: you shouldn’t be asking a random alpha to help you get away from a mixer. It isn’t safe.”

“You seem safe enough.”

“You don’t even know my name. You should at least tell your friends who you are leaving with in case anything goes wrong.”

They seemed to consider that for a few moments, their hand on their chin and elbow propped on their other palm. “I guess you are right. I am just so eager to get away from here.”

“Then let’s try again.” Liz offered her hand out to the pretty kitty. “My name is Elizabeth. I’m an alpha.”

“Elizabeth...” They slowly moved their hand from their chin to accept the offered shake. “Raora. Omega.” To their surprise, the redhead dipped down into a bow and placed a chaste kiss to their knuckles. “Oh wow...”

“Then, Raora, why don’t you go grab your things and we can tell our friends that we are leaving. I’ll meet you by the door.”

“Sounds like a plan!” Raora beamed at her. “See you then, Ms. Elizabeth.”

“Call me Liz.” The redhead grinned and nodded at the balcony entrance. “I’ll catch up. Promise.”

As Raora walked away, she took one more moment to look out over the balcony. ‘Just escaping... nothing more.’ With that, she knocked on the balcony to help disperse some of her uneasiness before turning to walk back in as well.

Her new friend wasn’t in line of sight so she quickened her pace to make it back over to Calliope. Her ex-partner gave her a look which turned into an accepting frown the moment she reached for her wallet. “Don’t bother,” Calli held up her hand. “We’re paying for you.”

“But-”

“No buts. Just wish you stayed to try it.”

Liz coughed and put her wallet back into her back pocket and instead reached for her coat that was draped on the back of the chair. “I... met someone out on the balcony.”

Eyes widened. “No shot?”

“Yeah, uhm... We’re heading out together.” Arms slipped in through the sleeves of her jacket and she flared the collar to set it correctly. “So you win. I met someone.”

“...Huh.” They seemed to be smiling even more. “If I knew you’d act so fast I wouldn’t have tried so hard to convince Kiara to let me come here with you.”

She gave her friend a knowing look along with a wink. “Thanks for that. You know I wouldn’t have come without you.”

“I know. Now shoo. Go on!”

A few more calls of congratulations followed from her old coworkers before she rushed off to head to the front door. Upon reaching it, she turned to glance across the restaurant. ‘Where is she?’

“Liz.” The voice came from behind her and she smiled upon turning to see them. A black purse was over their shoulder now, hand reaching out in an offering to help seal the act. “Shall we?”

“Let’s go, pretty kitty.” An arm nudged the door next to them and she held it open for the stranger turned date. They walked out into the cold wind. The coat that had just been put on fell from her shoulders so she could offer it over to them. “May I put my coat on you, Raora?”

“Oh... Yes, please.” They allowed the action and reached up to pull the shoulders over her over a bit more for warmth. The next action was subtle but was still noticed by the sensitive ex-officer. Raora’s shoulders lifted, signaling she was inhaling, and a pleased sound came out when they exhaled.

“So! Uhm...” Together they walked down the small sidewalk heading into the parking lot of the restaurant. “Did you drive, or should I offer you a ride, Ms. Raora?”

“Just Raora. And I’m liking a ride, if it’s okay?”

“Of course.” An arm motioned out to guide them where to go and soon she was opening the passenger side door for the omega.

“Oooh. If you keep on, I might be having to really try and keep you.”

Sharking a chuckle, she closed the door, careful of their tail, and jogged around the car. A breath was taken to help steady herself and she ducked in as well. “Am I taking you home, or...?”

Raora seemed to debate the answer before relaxing. “I wouldn’t mind going somewhere else, but we’re a little dressed up.”

“Stupid fancy parties. What happened to blue jeans and a tee-shirt?” The chuckle she heard from that made her grin. “I’m not good with high society things, but I know a karaoke place that’s nice?”

“I won’t embarrass you looking like this?” They motioned down at their dazzling dress.

“You won’t be embarrassed being taken to karaoke?”

Laughing, they shook their head. “No! Not at all! I’m more interested in that than... than... this!”

“Then let’s have ourselves a wonderful time.”

~**~

Raora could sing. They had a voice that was perfectly suited for some songs that Liz knew she would never be able to touch. She was skilled in many different genres, but Raora had a raw power in their singing voice that made them be able to nail songs with voice cracks or power passion.

One hour turned into two, which soon turned into three. From there it was sore voices and warm drinks while talking, something that they were both a little hesitant to get into. They weren’t supposed to be on a date. They weren’t going to get attached. It was a simple escape from a mixer they didn’t want to be in. So why they were so comfortable on the couch, sitting right next to each other, was beyond her.

“I don’t know,” Raora hummed while thinking about the question she was just asked. “I don’t really go out all that often.”

“No?” Liz propped her elbow on the back of the couch they were on and leaned into the cushion a little bit comfortably. “Prefer to stay home?”

“I’m... how you say it...? Introverted. Mmnnn-yeah. I prefer staying at home, playing games, and drawing.”

“You draw?”

“Oh! Yes, I do!” The discarded purse sat near the table was reached for and soon they were rooting through it. “Let’s see... my phone...” Their hands tapped on the screen a few times before turning it around to face her. “Here is my Pixiv.”

Liz slowly dragged her finger across the screen to look at the thumbnails. “Oh wow...” Her eyes stalled on one for a moment before tapping it to enlarge. “These are... really good!”

“Thank you! I try hard. I have some commission work for a few games. I want to be an artist full-time when I'm out of school.”

Another image was looked at and Liz huffed out an impressed breath. “With work like this, I can see it happening... Do you major in art? How much longer do you have?”

Raora hesitated while thinking. “Major... Ah, you mean my favorite?”

“Uhm, yeah? Your favorite subject, the one you focus on.”

“Oh yeah, then art, yes! I’m starting my last year of schooling soon so I am hoping to get a job.”

Handing back the phone, Liz rolled with the topic. “Last year, huh? Are you happy to be done?”

“Mmmmn... I guess so? School instead of work gives me more time to draw, so I am fearing going full time work mode, you know?

“Mmmn. Once you’re done with school, life changes.” She leaned a little closer to her new friend and softened her gaze. “I’ve been out of school for a little bit now... Never thought I’d go back.”

“Go back?” Raora tilted her head, those cat ears leaning down a little to reflect their confusion.

“Ah, don’t worry about it. Something I’m struggling with. I just quit my job so I’m in a weird place in life right now.”

“Oh. Why did you quit?” Raora matched Elizabeth’s interest by leaning over a little as well, their shoulders now touching. “Not enjoying it?”

“Not so much that, but...” A hand moved to her chest subconsciously to rub a finger over the area just above her cleavage. “Things happened that made it hard to keep going.”

“What did you do?”

“Classified,” she winked playfully. “At least back home. I did special service things before moving to America. While here I was on a police force, partnered to a detective. Calliope, she’s the one who brought me to the mixer.”

“So I have her to be thanking?” Raora’s scent had been shifting little by little as they got comfortable. From that, and along with the sweat from singing so much making their perfume lose potency, their natural pheromones were more noticeable. “For bringing you to me?”

“Oh, you’re a smooth kitty, aren’t you?” That earned her a laugh which made her heart beat a little faster upon hearing.

Raora’s hand slid over Liz’s in a non-committing way, casually laying on top of it while they spoke. “Maybe you’re just a nice alpha?”

She exhaled and lightly shook her head in disbelief. “I’m just me. Maybe you haven’t met many good alphas before?” Fingers casually began to curl above her hand, the pads of them drawing little lines on her skin.

“For most of my life, I’m avoiding alphas. Schools kept us separated until I move here.”

“Is being here much different from Italy?”

“How did you know- oh! Oh, my accent. Is it that noticeable?”

A shake of her head put the girl at ease. The way they spoke was certainly unique but she didn’t think that would be the smartest thing to comment on right then. “You said finito earlier. I recognized it because I’m originally from Great Britain.” Saying it brought back a pleasant memory for the woman. “Or as we used to call it; Great Exardia.”

Raora’s tail flipped around behind them on the couch as Liz’s finger spread apart to allow theirs to slot in between them in a loose hold. “Is there a story for that?”

Liz leaned in a little bit, smiling as the phone in the room rang. It was the obvious five-minute warning call to let them know their second extension would be expiring soon. “How about I tell you the story at my place?”

~**~

Awkward was an understatement for the feelings running rampant through her head. She had managed a smooth line and succeeded in getting a girl to go home with her. Now she was looking at herself in her bathroom mirror, hair half-dried from towel scrubbing and in the process of being combed. ‘What was I thinking, bringing her here!?’ Again she asked the question and again she didn’t have an answer.

It was a spur of the moment action, one that she would never normally do. Yet there she was, breathing heavily and trying to psych herself up to leave that room and stroll back into her bedroom. Where an omega was waiting on her. An omega dressed in her clothes. A pure blooded omega, with ears and a tail, wearing her clothes, and sitting on her bed.

You got this, Liz,’ she encouraged herself once more. ‘Just go out there, see where the mood is and... possibly lose your virginity with an omega you literally just met. No biggie.’ Her hand reached to the handle of her bathroom and she gathered everything she had to keep her head up. ‘This is why you didn’t want to go to a mixer, Liz... you act too fast, say things that are misunderstood...’ She still forced herself to smile confidently and walk into the area where Raora was waiting on her.

The omega was laying on the bed, facing her, looking quite comfy. The borrowed shirt was large on their body, looking more like a dress. The kitty’s legs were under the covers of the unmade bed to keep warm and it looked like they were enjoying the soft pillows. Once she had gotten a little bit closer, Elizabeth noticed that their eyes were closed as well.

“...Raora?” She knelt before the bed to get more on the same level as them. Unmoving, the omega stayed where they were. Their breathing was steady and such a gentle look was on their face. “Are you... asleep, Pretty Kitty?” Again they didn’t answer or show any signs of acknowledging that it happened.

Relief flooded over her like being submerged into warm water. At once her head dipped down to rest on the mattress before the omega and an almost astonished breath of air was pushed onto the sheets. “Oh thank goodness...” Elizabeth lifted her head again, smiling at the napping omega. Slowly, carefully, she reached over to ease some hair away from their closed eyes. “I was scared,” she admitted to them in a hushed whisper. “That we were going too fast...” Her hand moved back and she just looked at them for a moment more. “When I asked you here, I really did just want to spend more time with you, Raora... I hope you’ll forgive me for making you think I just wanted sex.”

Moving her hand back, she stood up from the bed and walked on her tiptoes to the lightswitch across the room. It was flipped off and a nightlight automatically turned on in the connecting hallway. Even with such a small amount of light she managed to make it back to her bed and slide into it as slowly and quietly as she could.

Covers were pulled up tentatively and soon she was laying behind the omega, face in a puddle of their hair, and tail tickling her legs. “Sorry,” she whispered to them while reaching over their body with an arm. “It’s... a little cramped with you in the middle...” She eased her body closer and allowed her arm to lay atop of them. “Uhm...” Her breath played against the silken hair she was resting near. “Sweet dreams, Raora... Thank you for tonight.”

A few seconds later and golden-amber eyes opened in the dark. What little light in the room reflected on their eyes to make them almost glow in the night. Blinking, they looked down at the arm embracing them and a smile went across Raora’s face before she closed her eyes again to try and sleep for real this time.

~**~

Elizabeth felt the motion in her arms before she was awake. Immediately their eyes snapped open,  pupils darting across the available line of sight to take in what was causing that sensation. A plan of defense was smattered together before she even had time to process, already laying out the path to her nightstand, where to hit the hidden tab on it, and grab her gun before whoever was with her could make a move.

Then, after her second blink, she realized that the invader wasn’t actually someone breaking into her home but rather the omega she took home last night. Her whole body relaxed and she sighed out heavily as her muscles eased up. The arm she had around them pulled the girl a little closer so she could bury her face into that soft hair and inhale their scent to try and help calm herself down.

Now that the perfume was all gone, and she was so close to their neck, she could finally get their full scent. It was fluffy and sweet, almost like cotton candy. There was a faint trace of that floral undertone that omegas were known for as well, mixing all together to give a kind of scent that made her think of fair grounds built on an open meadow. Fun but pretty. Sweet and kind, but also energetic and lively.

She couldn’t resist taking in another deep inhale and pulling the omega closer. Their warmth radiated into her front, that soft body pushing against her own. There was also a new sensation that came with it, one of her morning wood pushing up between soft cheeks and into the fluffy underside of a thick tail.

“Oh my,” Raora’s voice was playful and surprisingly giggly for being the first thing in the morning. “I guess what they say about morning hardness is real.”

“Guaaah...” Liz pulled her lower body back first, followed by rolling over and sitting up to face the other direction. “Sorry ‘bout that! It... has a mind of its own sometimes!” She felt and heard her new friend and guest shift around so they could sit behind her, back to back. “Uhm... Good morning. I hope I didn’t make you uncomfortable?”

Raora brought their knees up to hug, a blush on their face. “...No. I’m feeling comfortable with you. I’m thinking that you wouldn’t do anything without my permission.”

“I wouldn’t!” She glanced back over her shoulder, then turned away again. “Uhm... About last night.”

“I’m sorry I fell asleep.” Raora moved her tail around to her front so she could hold onto it in a kind of self hug. “I must have been tired.”

“No, it’s okay! Uhm...” Liz licked her lips. “I’m kinda... glad we didn’t rush.”

“...Me too.” Playing with their tail, Raora spoke up again after a moment. “I’d like... to get together again sometime?”

“Yeah!” Liz turned around quickly, her long red hair flashing over their shoulders. “I’d like that!” When she saw the amused grin on the omega’s face, she coughed and pretended to change how eager they sounded. “I mean... yeah, I’d like that.” It was said much more smoothly this time, which only made her friend give a happy laugh. “C’mon now, don’t be like that, I’m not good at things like this. Why do you think my friends forced me to a mixer?”

“Right?” Raora happily slid forward and got to their feet. “Then what do we do today?”

“No plans?” Liz moved to stand up as well, more concerned about keeping her baggy shirt up close to her shoulders than how it revealed a glimpse of their underwear down below.

“None!”

“Let’s see....” Thinking about it, she ran her day over in her head. “I need to go to the station and finish cleaning my desk... then I have to go to my new job place and go over some things...” A frown set on  her lips just thinking about it. “Damn, I’m pretty full today... Would later work? Maybe one day you’re not at class? What’s your schedule?”

“Oh, I’m free for three more weeks.”

“No classes right now?”

“No, silly, it’s winter break! For Chriiiiistmaaaas, and New Yeaaaars, and traveling with the families and all that.”

“...Huh. Well, cultural differences I guess. Since I was in Great Exardia and you were in Italy. Now we’re both in America. There’s bound to be differences, right?”

“Seems so. It will be fun to find them out together.” Raora rolled on their heels in a slow back and forth motion, as if thinking. “How about I give you my number and you let me know when we can do something?”

“That sounds great!” Liz quickly looked around for her cell phone, unsure of where it ended up after that had come back home the night before. “Let me just... find my phone, and...” The laughing she was getting made her cheeks color a little. “Hey now, don’t laugh... I have to get it before I can take you home.”

“Actuallllyyy...” Raora put a hand on her hip. “Could you be taking me to my friend’s house? I don’t want my daddy to know I stayed over at someone else’s house. He would want me to marry them.”

“Hahaha! Of course, of course. Come on, I’ll treat you to breakfast too.”

“Oh yay!”

~**~

Liz’s grunts of exertion were evenly spaced and timed with the pumping of the weights above her body. Her best friend’s hands were close to her own, ready to snap onto the bar to assist them should it be needed. Thankfully it wasn’t, and Liz fully extended her arms to let the weights fall back onto the rack. With her chest stinging, she took a moment to collect herself and breathe as deeply as possible.

“You shouldn’t push it so hard,” Calli told her after a second. “I could tell your breathing was starting to stutter near the end.” Her best friend sat next to her on the bench to show that they were okay with waiting for a bit.

“If I don’t push it, I will lose lung capacity.” Liz slowed herself down to longer, more full breaths. “I sang a lot of karaoke last night, so my lungs are just tired.”

“You took your date to a karaoke bar?”

“Not a bar, a room, and don’t give me that look. we just sang.”

“Mmmhmm. Just sang.” Calli laughed while getting back on her feet. “Right.”

“Really!” Liz stood as well, following them to a rowing machine that her ex-partner prefered to work out on while at the gym. “I’m a lady. We just sang, and we went home.”

“To one home or two homes?” Calliope finished adjusting the resistance and started to go into their routine while Liz rested.

“Well... A lady doesn’t kiss and tell, does she?”

Red eyes rolled. “Might as well tell me you two fucked, wording it like that.”

“We didn’t... you know.”

“Oh sorry,” Calli looked up happily despite starting to strain under the reps. “Did you shag? Bonk? Have a little tea party?”

“Now you’re just making stuff up!”

“That wasn’t a no.”

Groaning, she gave in. “We didn’t. Thought it was moving too fast. We spent the night together and exchanged numbers. We’re going to go out on a date when we both have time.”

“What’s she do?” Calli stopped working out for a moment to rest before starting her next set. “I didn’t see who you left with.”

“She’s a student; last year. She’s an art major. Apparently she’s waiting for next semester to finish out college.”

Calli grinned at that. “Smart girl. I worked all three semesters to get out faster. Almost killed me. I minored in art, so I think she’s a keeper for sure, dude. Did she show you her drawings?”

“Yeah, she’s good. Very good.”

“Introduce me sometime. I’d like to meet her. I’m sure Wawa would love to have someone else around as well.”

Liz thought about that. “She never really got along with the force, did she? Whenever we had an event she would always hide in the corner.”

“Officers make her nervous.” Calli started again, flexing her fingers around the bars she was holding before going into more reps. “I’m... the only... one she’s... ever liked.”

“Ouch.”

“And you... Obviously.”

The taller redhead weighed her words a bit before asking them. “When you first met Kiara, did it go well? What dates did you go on? I haven’t courted someone in a long time and I’m a bit... rusty.”

Calliope grinned devilishly. “Our first meeting... I was... handcuffed and... blindfolded.”

“No wonder you hit it off so well.” Liz groaned. “For someone not a freak, what should I do?”

Leaning onto their arms, she grinned up at them. “Be yourself. She’s in the last year of college, right? Maybe hit up a bar or something, party a little... sing karaoke. She’s a few years younger than you so let her pick to see what she says.”

“So a dinner and a movie isn’t quite posh these days?”

Standing up, Calli draped an arm over her shoulders. “You’re sounding like an old lady. Live a little.”

“After I start my new job, I should be more mindful of where I’m seen... I’m not sure how it is in America but overseas teachers were expected to be a good role model for students.”

Calli snorted. “Yeah, over here, I don’t think they really care. As long as your students don’t catch you partying with your top off, you’ll be fine.”

A hand touched her chest, covering a spot just above her cleavage. “I’d rather not have anyone see my chest...”

Softening, Calli pulled them into a sweaty hug. “Tell you what. Let me give you some good advice when it comes to taking a girl out: Ask her where she thinks you’ll be taking her for dinner, and when she guesses, say ‘That’s right, how did you know!?’ then take her to that place. You’ll never go wrong.”

“And if she says she can’t think of a place?”

“Then you, girlfriend, are going to be picking the place to eat every night for the rest of your life.”

“Fun...”

“Can you breathe again?” Calli nudged them over to a small rockwall at the side of the gym. “Think you can climb?”

“Always.”

~**~

“So what’s she like!?” The voice came through Raora’s phone speaker as the omega stretched out in her bathtub.

“She’s nice! We sang karaoke, talked a lot, and spent the night together!”

There was silence for a moment before the voice came back. “You lost your v-card!?”

“Wha- nyaaooo! We just slept! In the same bed! No sex!”

“Boooo.”

“Nerissa, you always teasing me. Stop it.”

The one known as Nerissa giggled into the phone. “So are they still in school, or maybe college?”

“She’s working. Or at least was. She was an officer, yesterday was her last day. Is why her friends are taking her to the mixer.”

Nerissa hummed softly. “So she’s a lot older.”

“I suppose? We didn’t talk about age, but she knows I’m in school..” Her hands busied themselves with playing with a floating Chattino bath toy. “I don’t think it is too much of a difference. Four, maybe five years? My parents are ten, so it isn’t bad.”

“Liking older alphas. Can’t say I blame you. The ones our age suck.”

Roara chuckled to herself. “Did Shiori upset you again, Nerissa?”

“That idiot always upsets me. I don’t know why you’re friends with such a...” Their sentence trailed off, unsure how to exactly describe the gothic alpha who always infuriated them. “Ugh. I just can’t.”

“Mmmhmm. Raora began to work on her legs while talking, going about shaving the soft, pink hair that wanted to grow down them. “That’s why you two were in the closet for so long during the seven minutes of heaven game?”

“Th-that’s not my fault! Someone should have told us when time ran out!”

“Twenty minutes is a long time to be making out.”

“I don’t have to take this! I’m hanging up!” Their voice turned sweet again, though. “Congratulations on finding someone. Introduce me, okay?”

“Mmmn! I will! Bye-bye!”

With her phone call ended, she focused more on her legs to be sure she got everything cleanly shaven. Still, she couldn’t help the smile on her face when she thought about all the things she could do with her new crush before her last year of highschool started.
