have a pandaful day!

Summary:

The General bought himself a new item and tests its usefulness!

Notes:

little treat for you!

Work Text:

The General stands in front of his door, a content smile on his face as he regards his newly purchased doormat.

A bamboo-munching panda is printed on it, along with a speech bubble saying Have a pandaful day一an expression he hasn't heard before during all this time he has spent on this planet which he finds odd because generally speaking the more pandas one sees the better.

It is useful, too, his friendly new doormat because not only does it greet his visitors一not that he gets many, or, well, any一it also can be used to wipe the soles of one's shoes on it before entering the General's place.

He nods to himself, satisfied with his purchase.

Luck is on his side as today's rainy weather provides the perfect opportunity to test the actual usefulness of the mat.

He unlocks his door, gazing at his wet shoes before he eyes the doormat again. The panda still wishes him a pandaful day.

The General carefully steps over the mat so he doesn't get any of the dirty rainwater clinging to his shoes on it. They leave a little puddle in his entrance but the panda remains spotless.

He frowns as he regards his doormat again.

The inventor of said item must have not properly thought everything through, for if you step on the mat with your dirty shoes you will end up staining the panda's beautiful fur. A very disrespectful thing to do to Earth's most precious creature. Especially one that wishes you a pandaful day.

He takes off his shoes and puts on his house slippers, taking one last look at his clean doormat as he shakes his head at the carelessness humans exhibit time and time again when handling matters of such great importance.
