Chapter Text
The sensations of the night do not improve for Glinda as she moves out of the path of the window. She pulls her knees to her chest and gags, gasping a little for breath as she tries to recover from.. shock? But why? She tries her best to curl away from the feelings, shakily standing to pace but finding herself on her knees, throwing up on the floor and wiping her mouth with the sleeve of her pink lacey robe. Deciding she's sick so suddenly from something she ate. she sips the water on her night stand, and returns to bed. Pulls her knees to her chest again and opens the book she didn't mean to grab, an old journal? She opens it to let her fingers sift through the pages, maybe to distract herself, maybe pure curiosity, but it opens to the page from the first night Elphie did Glinda's makeup instead of the other way around. Glinda had been so proud that, rather than removing it normally, she used her magic to place the makeup into her journal like a pressed flower. Remembering the simple spell used to preserve it all this time, she shakes her head, delicately closes the book and lets out a single sob as the soul so deeply entwined with hers tries to leave her alone once more - she remains unaware of this, of course
(from; wicked: the life and times of the wicked witch of the west) “an instant of sharp pain before the numbness. The world was floods above and fire below. If there was such a thing as a soul, the soul had gambled on a sort of baptism, and had it won?
The body apologizes to the soul for its errors and the soul asks forgiveness for squatting in the body without invitation”
for a moment, Elphaba's life flashes before her. A torrent of familiar faces, dead and living and unforgiving. But as her soul tries to move on to the next world, it is yanked back. Soul and body meet once again in their malicious dance.
Glinda throws up once more as the sickness is overtaken partially by curiosity - though Elphie's soul has returned, Glinda's body is still recovering from the shock. She climbs from the bed and makes her way toward the window, more timidly than usual, as the night has been strange.
In the darkness she sees a figure collapsed under a tree, a broom rests in a limp hand, a pointed hat on its side nearby. The hat certainly reminds her of Elphie but she's unsure what to think of the sight before her. chills run down her spine as she correlates the uncomfortable sensations with what's happening outside. She decides to throw on a long, dark purple cloak and make her way to see what's going on. Without thinking of her safety she makes her way to the door and strides outside to the figure.
as she gets closer she sees the green skinned face of her beloved Elphie, her body sprawled Unconscious on the grass. “Oh..” she approaches and touches her shoulder, first worried that she’s still angry, but surely Elphie wouldn’t come to hurt her, right? Was it at all possible her earlier bout of misfortune was some cruel magic by the lovely witch ahead of her, or that Elphies' desperation for her escaped via magic and manifested thusly simply due to it’s overwhelming nature?
Despite being nervous to learn Elphie’s reasons for coming, and to face her at all, she approaches and lifts the poor girl by her arm, though limp and deadweight, she doesn’t weigh much as she slumps against Glinda, who speaks timidly. “Elphie…?” Glinda brings the witch inside, making sure not to be seen by her guard on the way inside. She’s as stealthy as she can be dragging Elphaba up the stairs, struggling a little. She finally sighs in relief when she pushes Elphaba onto her bed. She bustles about the room to close the curtains and the door. Elphaba groans and places a hand over her face and groans in pain. Glinda starts at Elphie’s first vocalization and steals herself for the likelihood that the upcoming conversation won’t go well. “I didn’t expect to see you, Elphie” Glinda says, tilting her head.
Elphaba bolts upright in the bed and her whips to look at Glinda, twigs and leaves still sticking out of her messy bun. the witches voice pierces the air in a high, biting tone. “Glinda!?”
Glinda squeaks loudly and jumps back, her pink, fluffy robe fluttering to join her. “Elphie” she begins to speak as she puts her hands on her hips, looking over the disheveled witch sympathetically “you’re quite a mess.. Do tell me what you’re doing at my home at this hour…?”
The wicked witch glances around the room, eyes darting. “Your home…?” she manages to choke out. “Wh-..what? How? I-.. I-... but there was-...” she glares at Glinda, seeming to find her composure very suddenly. “What foul trickery have you cooked up now!?” she looks up, speaking to her, or to no one, or to life. “Isn’t it bad enough to send that girl and her idiot friends to kill me? Now this humiliation? I’ve been robbed of so much, must you rob me of my death as well?”
Glinda's sorrowful eyes look over Elphaba, and she sheds a tear remembering the ordeal in front of the biting witch. “I’ve done no such thing.. I hoped the poor girl would leave oz and we could speak afterward but you crossed a line with her that barred my intervention” Glinda pauses and looks away before continuing “as for robbing you of your death, I have no idea what you’re referring to, please do tell me though, you didn’t kill that poor girl, or her companions…?”
Elphaba looks at her sharply, taken aback “kill them? No! Of course not! I intended to-.. To..” the witch shakes her head and glares “nevermind what I intended. You’ve once again stuck your magic where it doesn’t belong, Glinda.” a long spindly finger points at Glinda “I am supposed to be dead. I was dead! Melted!” she looks up, almost as if in pain “my soul was finally released and I-..then I was yanked back. How dare you do this to me.” glares once again at the blonde.
Glinda gasps softly and shakes her head, rushing to inspect Elphaba, finding only a few scratches from the fall. “They succeeded then…? Well.. I suppose not.” she shakes her head in confusion “I did not nothing to bring you here, Elphie. I heard you crash into my tree outside and thought perhaps you’d come to escape your fate with that child.. As you should have.”
“Yes, that wretched little farm girl murdered me. I was melted”
Glinda sits on the bed, in front of Elphie, sighing and receiving a raised eyebrow if not a full scowl, prompting her to shake her head and stare off toward the window. “Well you certainly don’t appear to have melted. Though if you’re angry with me for bringing you back to life..and for contributing to your death, I suppose you can be angry with me for anything”
“I am always angry these days” Elphaba crosses her arms, seeming to calm but only for a second before her glare resumes, studying Glinda’s expression. “But you brought back, Glinda. I do not know how, but you did. I felt you do it”
Glinda laughs the way she does when she’s getting frustrated, stands and begins pacing in front of the bed. “You felt me do it?? What does that mean then? Ugh, if you hadn’t cared so deeply about those damn shoes, she’d have left Oz with them, and not a note of trouble..”
“They were my sister’s!” Elphaba snaps. “They were promised to me, you air headed bitch. Those shoes belonged to me!”
Glinda sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose. “Elphie! Elphie we have bigger things to worry about than your inheritance! Ugh.. I understand being upset but you simply took this too far. You’re angrier about those shoes than you are about thinking me responsible for your death! This is unbelievable!”
Elphaba narrows her eyes, watching Glinda pace from the bed. “I’d rather have died but that was taken from me too! Like so much else.
“you wanted to die then..? That was your goal all along...?” A lot of the anger leaves Glinda’s demeanor, tears run down her cheeks and as she backs away from the witch, reminded of their time in the cloister when she pulled Elphie back from death's door, all the pain of seeing her lover wanting death rushing back to her*
“Oh don’t sound so surprised.” says the wicked witch, bitter, and sad. “This world has been cruel and ruthless to me since the moment I was born. I have tried and tried and tried to make good, and to be happy but that never works out. The moment it starts to, it’s ripped away, without fail." She rises from the bed and goes to the window, fingers flexing at her sides. “I’m so tired Glinda. I just want to disappear forever.”
Glinda softly whimpers, falling to her knees, starting to feel sick again, “it is tiring.. with that, I agree.. perhaps you've been right all along. Despite living to do good, the world seems very much the way I found it. very well, Elphie.. we'll go your way this time..”
Elphaba turns and puts her hands on her hips. “ What? Glinda, you idiot. Get up.” Elphaba goes to her and helps her to the bed, which Glinda tries to resist at first, but Elphaba knows her Glinda and how to guide her so she follows.. “What are you on about? Dying?” she looks over the blonde, scowling. “ you dolt. Don’t you do that. I won’t have it. You’re in a position to do a lot of good, and you’re smart and beautiful enough to do it.”
Glinda glares and slaps her cheek. “No! No! Absolutely not! I have fought as long and hard as you have, your knowledge alone puts you in a position to do good, and you're as beautiful as ever. Don't tell me I don't deserve to be as tired as you are!” Tears flow down the good witch's cheeks. “I've lost as much as you have. And don't you dare tell me I haven't just because you wear your scars honestly and I hide mine under layers of glitter and ruffles!! Our scars are the same, remember!? I lived with madame morrible when you lived with your rebel friends.. You had to remain unseen beneath shadows, and I beneath a smile.”
Elphaba reals back from the slap, and looks at her in shock, holding her cheek. Shakes her head and backs up, scowling. Not an angry expression, but one of thoughtfulness this time. “ I never said any of that..” she rubs her own cheek and slowly stalks back and forth. “you did not let me finish… forgive my… poor words. I forget how to speak.”
“you did say all of that. Indirectly and unintentionally perhaps but you did. In claiming that you should die, and that I shouldn't, using my intelligence and beauty as some kind of excuse.. I'm less intelligent than you, and twice as wicked. But fine.. you claim I didn't let you finish. Do so now.”
Elphaba scowls more, closes her eyes tight as she paces. Opens them again as she finds her words. “I didn’t say.. that though.. I..” she pauses, twists her fingers together as she paces, trying to place her words properly rather than flying off the handle as she’s grown used to doing. “I was going to say… that for whatever reason.. I was brought back… and I was brought here… so there’s no use in us walking out of this life together… when we so clearly are meant to walk in it together.”
Glinda’s guarded pout fades and her eyes widen, lips parting in surprise. She scans Elphie and shakes her head. “we-.. what..? “ Glinda Wraps her arms around herself and smiles very, very faintly. “I do suppose it'd be less dramatic than dying..”
“I was meant to die tonight.. and I didn’t.. You know I don’t believe in cosmic nonsense and fate.. and you know I don’t believe I have a soul..” Elphaba’s fingers twist as she puzzles her way through her thoughts. “Today I was proven wrong… I… not only have a soul… but it is tethered to yours…” she grips her chest as she paces. Her tone becoming soft, almost wistful, and deeply cathartic. “painfully so, my sweet..”
Glinda pauses, Nodding contemplatively, and starting to smile just a little. “mm.. ~ it does feel good to hear you call me that again.. it's been a long time..” she shakes her head, smiling a little more “I suppose I felt you trying to leave me...? I felt a great pain and sickness... And even greater sorrow.. unexplained, but... I suppose now we understand..” She pauses for a moment and slowly reaches her hand toward Elphie, still unsure where the conversation is going.
Elphaba doesn’t see her hand but feels the pull and stumbles in a side step to her hand, taking it, squeezing, then turning and following the momentum to Glinda and standing before her, looking down at the blond. “I suppose… we do.. Forgive me…?”
Glinda squeezes back and faintly smiles up at her with teary eyes. “yes.. so long as you promise never to leave me that way again. I need someone out there to remember who I am underneath my title.. and I've not lifted the mask in a very long time..”
Elphaba smiles faintly. “Neither have I, my sweet..” She climbs on top of Glinda, straddling the blond and placing both hands on her cheeks. “I’ll never leave you again, I promise..” she kisses her lips with all the passion she has, drinking in the essence she has missed these long years.
Glinda gasps softly, not having expected physical affection. blushes quite a bit. There's a moment of shock before she leans into the affection, but when the kiss is released she giggles, still almost unable to believe she's really here, and that she still wants to be close to her. Her hands caress Elphie’s sides. “dearest Elphie...~ it's taken you all of nearly two seconds to have me blushing like a school girl again.”
Elphaba strokes her cheek, searches face, shakes her head, and smiles a bit more before leaning in to kiss at Glinda’s jaw. “never did take much. Glinda… thank you…”
Glinda blushes further and pouts, but the pout quickly fades as Elphie's lovely green lips run along her warm red cheeks. “thank you Elphie... for coming back..” the good witch kisses back firmly when Elphaba’s lips reach her own.
Elphaba kisses her lips again, pressing on her shoulders, guiding her to lie down. “You brought me back…” she smiles into yet another kiss. “You really did. And you slapped me back to reality. I have been denying myself and you for far too long.”
“did I, then?” laughs Glinda, shifting underneath the witch, her hands a little shaky as they rest on her thighs “I think I'm inclined to agree.” the instant she finishes speaking Elphaba kisses her again, and she leans hard into the kiss.
Elphaba’s lips quiver against Glinda’s. “I am sorry I left things the way I did when we last parted..”
“mm.. no.. no, Elphie please... after what I did to you... you have nothing to be sorry for.” says Glinda with great urgency.
Elphaba sighs “it hardly matters now.. “We’ve both made mistakes Glinda” she pauses to fix Glinda’s hair with a soft, loving smile. “Still so beautiful..”
Glinda shakes her head in surprise. “Am I…?” she gently touches Elphie’s neck, eyes wide and hopeful. “You’re as beautiful as you were in college.. as enchanting and alluring as ever”
Elphaba blushes “Glinda..” she smiles as she savors Glinda’s name on her tongue “you are the most beautiful creature I’ve ever seen..”
Glinda smirks proudly and giggles. “well, any mirror would be beautiful when it's front of you~”
Elphaba swats at her, unable to keep from smiling “oh you silly creature~ Glinda!” she cackles.
Glinda laughs and squirms against the mattress, clearly proud of herself for this one.
Elphaba laughs and leans down to kiss her lips once again, unable to stop kissing her.. “you ridiculous thing~”
Glinda puts on her very formal, offended tone. “hmph. now, Elphie, is that any way to speak to the girl of your dreams?”
Elphaba smirks mischievously. “it is if I like seeing her all hot and bothered~”
Glinda gasps indignantly, lifting her head against the pillow to look away, but can't keep from blushing with Elphies teasing. “Elphieee... Surely you'd rather see my lovely smile?~” she says pouting.
Elphaba smiles wickedly, and pins her wrists above her head and kisses her neck, repeatedly “After all these years..”
Glinda giggles, smiling with a sigh, taking a moment to appreciate the catharsis of being with her Elphie again, but squeaks loudly as she feels Elphaba’s teeth sink into her neck. She flinches up against the witch's body.. “Elphie!, what are you-..”
Elphaba coos muffled against Glinda’s neck and starts to untie her robe, not halting the kisses and bites to her neck. “Do you want me to stop?”
Glinda shakes her head. cheeks flush. She laughs in bliss and fear as Elphie exposes her scarred breasts and kisses them - a little shy at first but quickly reminded by the kisses that she's nothing to be nervous about. Her hands move to Elphaba’s back to begin untying her dress.
Elphaba kisses along the gradually exposed skin as she slowly pulls the robe open, her lips caressing each familiar scar on Glinda’s bare skin, and stroking them with lithe fingers.
Glinda sighs softly, the sensation of Elphie's lips on her skin filling her with deep comfort and joy, it feels right.. even after all this time's passed, it's easy to fall into her embrace. She gently pulls at the shoulders of Elphie's dress, tugging the sleeves down across her arms.
Elphaba blushes almost as much as Glinda and readjusts her sleeves, rolling her shoulder and looking away. “I… Things don’t look the same as they did..” she bites her lip and tilts her head with a stern look that counts as shy for Elphaba.
Glinda shrugs shyly “time has passed for me too, darling... it's okay.” A gentle hand reaches up to direct Elphaba’s gaze. “I don’t-..look the same as I did either. I’m terrified for you to see me, I’m terrified you’ll be disappointed”
Elphaba takes in a single, deep breath, tracing her fingers over pale skin and old scars. “How could I be disappointed in something I’ve denied myself but pined after for so long. You could never disappoint me, my sweet.” her fingers delicately slide down Glinda’s side and a hand rests on her ass, stroking the fabric of her panties.
Glinda squirms a bit under Elphie’s affections and gently makes another attempt to pull her dress off her shoulders, slowly and cautiously this time, blushing and watching Elphie's eyes as much as her shoulders. “even still...?”
Elphaba moves up Glinda’s body, now eye to eye with her. “Even still, my sweet.. “ the witch leans down to kiss her lover’s cheek. “My beautiful Glinda.. As gorgeous as the day we met.”
Glinda blushes quite a bit but looks her Elphie in the eye. “Don’t you dare lie to me, Elphaba Thropp.. And please do not diminish what I was with such a comparison..”
Elphaba looks at Glinda with a stern, but loving expression. “I wouldn’t dare lie to you, Glinda. You’re breathtaking. Your beauty is unrivaled and has not diminished.”
Glinda whimpers, turning her head to wipe a tear on her pillow as she lets out a choked laugh, but she nods. “Oh Elphie..” she laughs, resuming her work on Elphie’s dress with an even brighter smile. “
Elphaba shyly shrugs her shoulders, allowing Glinda to lower the dress. Blushing she wraps her arms around herself and watches Glinda. Old scars mottle her skin too. She’s far to skinny, as always, with her ribs showing, her small breasts now covered by her arms.
Glinda smiles shyly and tilts her head, leaning up to kiss Elphie’s ribs. Her lips gently embracing a large scar beneath her breasts. “You’re beautiful, Elphie.” she shakily lets her breath out as she explores her lover's skin.
Elphaba moves to take Glinda in an embrace as she kisses the places her skin is smooth, as well as her scars. Her breathes coming short and a blush creeps to her cheeks. “I haven’t been touched in many years.”
“I still remember our last time vividly.. at the cloister..” Glinda's hands gently run along Elphie's lovely green skin, familiar and lovely, none of the changes feel significant as she leans down to kiss Elphie's breasts with a sigh.
Elphaba’s fingers knead Glinda’s ample breasts “Oh Glinda… it’s been tpp long…” she leans down to kiss at Glinda’s scars again, sighing and running her fingers over the soft expanse of her belly. “We’ve endured so much.. I am so glad to have you at last..”
Glinda kisses her Elphie again and again, fingers eagerly exploring her soft green skin. “I agree. Perhaps we’ll have the happy ending you promised me after all.. I think we’ve established I’m not letting you go until you give it to me, so it’s either that or we’ll become immortal”
Elphaba chuckles, shakes her head and moves so she can free herself of her dress, underneath she’s wearing a black slip and black panties. She kisses Glinda and flops to the side, resting her hands on her belly, head on the pillows. She turns her head to smile at Glinda.
Glinda watches her move - mesmerized and refreshed by the familiarity in the patterns. “In some ways it’s like nothing’s changed.. The world has certainly changed around us a little, but it feels.. Almost faint. Are we two beautiful dolls left inside a zoetrope to collect dust, perhaps?”
Elphaba laughs and shakes her head. “mmm~ you always were good with words~”
Glinda giggles with a proud wiggle. “I was, wasn't I?~ I'm good at arranging them, and you're good at understanding them. My purpose is beauty, and yours.. Meaning.”
Elphaba smiles and touches her cheek. “you don’t give yourself enough credit my sweet~”
“I suppose you'd know all about that~ wouldn't you?” says Glinda with a smirk.
“Indeed~” a green finger lightly boops Glinda’s dainty nose.
The two lie on their sides, blue and brown eyes completely lost in each other, studying each other’s expressions, and taking in the color and emotion in their irises. About a minute passes before Glinda breaks the silence. “And you’re finally safe.. I am more relaxed now than I’ve been since shiz.
Elphaba smiles and shakes her head and strokes Glinda’s cheek. “Safe…? and what happens when I’m found in here~?”
“Oh, you won't be. Guards do not enter this room, only my best girls do, and they'll keep you secret. Actually.. you'll be meeting one soon..” Glinda pulls a string at the head of her bed and rings a pink and silver bell.
Elphaba scrambles up and pulls her dress on hurriedly “what!?”
Glinda pulls on her robe, laughing at Elphie “really, now?~ I thought you liked showing off?”
a beautiful woman, about 5’3 with long brown hair slips into the room, she looks to be about 30, she's in a pink, form fitting but ornate maid's outfit with a white apron. She has glasses with large circular frames, and soft brown eyes “Lady Glinda I-” the maid lets out a high pitched gasp, stumbling back when she sees Elphaba.
Elphaba steps back, assuming a defensive stance, readying a spell. “Don’t scream–”
“oh Elphie be still, won't you? Riri, this is Elphie. She and I have something of a trist - it'll be long term, you'll see her often, but speak of her to no one. She's my lovely secret~ she's come a long way and got a little sick when she snuck in through my window.. perhaps the shock of warmth after being cold for so long. If you would..” Glinda gestures to the two places she got sick before Elphie arrived.
“very well lady Glinda. Elphie.” Riri formally bows to both of them and leaves the room, door closed behind her
Elphaba flexes her fingers. “What was the point of that, exactly?”
Glinda smiles proudly. “well.. I needed her to clean.. and i needed to show you that you can trust my personal staff~ “
Elphaba puts her hands on her hips. “And how do you know she’s not going to immediately squeal? you could have at least given me more warning.”
Glinda shrugs “I've known her for years” she smirks mischievously “plus.. I enjoyed the show.” she giggles at the glare she receives from Elphie. “Oh come now! You know it was funny.”
Riri slips back into the room with cleaning supplies, gets on her hands and knees and starts scrubbing at the spots left by Glinda earlier in the night.
Elphaba glares at Glinda, then sits on the bed, watching the maid. “I cannot believe you. not only do you call your maid in here without warning but you also blame me for that.”
Glinda shrugs and pouts playfully at Elphie. “well.. you were to blame in a sense..”
Riri finishes cleaning and stands with a smile “will either or you require anything else from me?~”
Glinda makes a shooing motion with her hand. “not at this time~ thank you, darling”
Elphaba scowls at the girl and stands just next to the bed. “I hate false politeness. Come here, girl.”
Riri quickly stands at attention with both her hands behind back, immediately intimidated. “y-yes Lady Elphie..?”
Glinda watches with great concern and greater curiosity, pouting a little at Elphaba. “Elphie be nice! You’re scaring poor Riri.”
Elphaba looks down at her with a stern expression. “No. That is not what you’ll call me. do you know who I am?”
Riri look at Glinda, clearly in a panic.: “I-.. um... yes! You are La-.. you are Elphie..? I um.. I do apologize.. you see I assumed you'd be a lady if you were courting-.. or... I suppose I shouldn't assume you're courting.. she did describe it as a trist.. but-”
Elphaba Rolls her eyes, sighs, and pinches the bridge of her nose. “stop your bumbling. My name doesn’t matter. As far as you’re concerned I am just the guest. Auntie Guest, if you must.
Riri timidly bows, looking at Glinda pleadingly. “very well auntie guest!”
Glinda waves it off and rolls her eyes. “It's fine Riri.. do as she asks”
Elphaba nods in mild approval. “good. Now… to the second matter. Have you oils I could use to clean myself? I cannot abide water. Lavender, and sandalwood are ideal.
Riri curtsies, her voice almost in a squeak.. “That should be amenable.”
Glinda gets up on her knees on the mattress to rub Elphie’s tense shoulders. “thank you Riri. Your services are appreciated.“
Elphaba leans back into Glinda as she watches Riri scurry off. “oh right. Yes thank you! Hm, nervous little thing.”
“Well, you were rather abrasive with your introduction. She'll grow to like you though. They all will.” Glinda kisses Elphie's neck with a sigh.
Elphaba starts to relax a little under Glinda's affections. “Abrasive, hah! No I wasn’t. I was just talking to her.”
Glinda looks away with a sad expression. ‘Very well.. consider her nervous then. She's a good girl though, the youngest on my staff.”
Elphaba fiddles with her fingers, noting Glinda’s tone. “Did I really come off as abrasive, then?”
“You did, yes. Or stern at the very least. I suppose she'd have to be used to that if she were on my staff in the Emerald City but... not here.” Glinda nods solemnly.
Elphaba shrugs, turns, and kisses Glinda’s lips firmly. “very well. I apologize for scaring your staff.”
Glinda kisses back with a smile, enveloping Elphie in the pink ruffles of her robe’s sleeves. “So you'll have to tell me your every desire. you won't be able to go shopping so.. i want you comfortable”
Elphaba shrugs with a smile and moves a hand to Glinda’s neck, playing with the curls she finds there. “Oh please, I don’t need much.”
Glinda pouts and presses into the touch. “you may not, but it'd please me to buy you things.”
Elphaba smiles and kisses her neck. “I have all I need, just being close to you, Glinda. But I know you’re going to insist.”
Glinda smiles brightly, swaying with excitement and squeezing Elphaba close. “Oh, I most certainly am~ you'll now live in the same luxury I do, so do brace yourself for more comfort than you've ever had”
Elphaba shakes her head and nuzzles into Gkinda’s neck. “How strange that will be…”
Glinda strokes Elphie’s hair and smirks proudly. “it'll be just lovely~ to begin, i require you tell me a food you'd like.. a treat mind you. And an object you've always wished to own. Please also include anything else you want.. as much as you can think of. but those two things are the absolute minimum I will allow
Elphaba sighs in equal parts adoration and exasperation. She raises an eyebrow and shakes her head, pushing Glinda down onto the bed with a smile. “fine, I shall do as you ask. For now though, I am exhausted, I haven’t in about a week.”
Glinda falls back onto the bed and sprawls out her arms and legs before extending her arms to Elphie and grabbing at the space between them.
Elphaba sheds her dress and climbs into the bed, leaning over Glinda to kiss her lips. “I love you my sweet~“
Glinda blushes considerably and kisses Elphie back, wrapping her arms around her to pull Elphie down on top of her. “and I love you, my darling Elphie.”
Elphaba smiles fondly, rolls off Glinda just long enough to pull the covers over the two of them, opening her arms to welcome her love into them. “come, come~”
Glinda smiles and crawls into Elphie's arms, resting her head on her chest and snuggling close.
Elphaba pulls her close and sighs, surprised at just how relaxed she is with Glinda pressed close to her. That familiar closeness making her feel grounded and comfortable. She kisses her head, and flicks her wrist to turn off the light. “Goodnight my sweet”
Glinda smiles, at Elphie's flourish. “goodnight.. darling Elphie..~”
The two snuggle tightly against each other, and fall asleep rather quickly. Fully at peace in each other’s arms. Moments after the pair falls asleep, Riri opens the door and turns on the light. “I've got your oil lady-.. I mean.. auntie guest. Oh-...” the maid pauses and looks down at her feet.
Elphaba pinches her nose and takes a deep breath, sounding grouchy and tired. “leave it on the dresser and don’t come back till late morning.”
“Yes Lady-.. guest, I apologize!” places the oils on Glinda’s dresser and swiftly leaves.
Glinda’s eyes blink open. “huh...?”
Elphaba sighs, huffs and puts her arms around Glinda to calm herself. “It’s Auntie Guest! She reminds me of that wretched little farm girl..”
Glinda rubs her eyes. “what?? Does she? Oh I can see how.. poor thing really is just trying to please, Elphie.”
Elphaba sighs and holds her close. “Yes, it is quite vexing..”
Glinda presses in and smiles, kissing Elphie's chest, right below the throat as she settles in again. She yawns and flicks her wrist to mimic Elphaba’s earlier flourish, turning the light off again. “Elphie.. You're quite comfortable.
Elphaba closes her eyes and kisses Glinda’s head. “You'd be the only person who thinks that, my sweet.”
Glinda smiles and shrugs. “but I am an expert on comfort, dear Elphie.. you cannot deny this. I know better than the lot of them.”
Elphaba rubs Glinda’s back with a fond smile. “So you think a bag of bones is comfortable?
Glinda kisses her nose and giggles. “well this one certainly is~ and sweeter than sugar~”
Elphie laughs softly and rubs the back of Glinda’s head. “Oh hush, you.. Time to sleep now, my sweet.”
“Glinda closes her eyes and nestles into her beloved, falling asleep quickly, and Elphaba does the same.
