Work Text:
Danny had moved to Gotham after graduating from Amity Park's local college with two degrees that he probably couldn't even use in the outside. Ecto-biology and Technomancy sounded fancy and fun, and they were! But how the hell was he supposed to use that to make a living?
Frootloop, in his eternal quest to win Danny over, had bought him both a fancy ass condo and a shop for Danny to do whatever he wanted in it. So Danny repaired things, anything you could bring him, he could fix it, and even some things you couldn't carry. If he was interested enough he would go to you.
So far, Gotham was kinda boring, sure he gave his ecto infused pastry to that poor starving liminal on his first day, but nothing else really happened. He just kept on doing what Danny did best, smiled at people and fixed things, refusing money for most of the repairs. He even tried to give those poor desperate robbers the money Frootloop had given him, but the starving dog liminal got it back for him.
Danny laughed at the note that was left with the money, shaking his head. He should probably try to feed the guy a bit more if he was going to stick around, so he reached out to where he felt the signature and started feeding it bits of clean ecto. Odd things kept happening around Danny after that, people kept trying to either rob him or take whatever it was he was repairing at the time, but the dog liminal he was feeding kept stopping them.
Once, a woman with pigtails dyed red and blue had come into the shop and told him to stop playing with his new dog liminal 'Mr. J' because he was dangerous. Of course he was, the poor thing was feral! He shooed the woman from his shop with a smile and a wave, telling her that his own villians were worse and that he could handle himself.
But he hadn't needed to, abruptly the attacks against him stopped. But he also didn't feel his dog Mr. J around anymore either. He would have to go find him, Mr. J needed him, he was almost positive he did.
