The Spheres That Bind Us

Summary:

Six years after the war ended, Etheria is at peace, Adora is with the love of her life and everything is the way she had always dreamed. And yet, there is still that question that refuses to let her go – who is she without a purpose?

After rebuilding Etheria’s kingdoms and traveling throughout space, the Best Friend Squad hasn’t been able to find Eternia – the planet she comes from. That is, until someone drops a lead on how she could potentially get there. The planet calls her, but at what cost will she answer?

This story focuses on Adora and Catra’s journeys of discovering the parts of themselves that they haven’t had the time and space for during the main story. It’s a story about identity, community and acceptance.

Chapter Text

“Adora, please… you have to wake up!”

“You can’t give up. You have never given up on anything in your life. Not even on me. So don’t you dare start now!”

“It’s too late… I’ve failed.”

“No… no! I’ve got you, I am not letting go!”

“Don’t you get it? I love you, I always have, so please, just this once, stay!”

Ba-dum. Ba-dum. Ba-dum. Ba-dum.

“Stay…”

“You love me?”

“You’re such an idiot.”

Ba-dum. Ba-dum.

“I love you, too.”

Six years have passed since the moment that changed Adora’s life forever. Yet she still finds herself dreaming about it from time to time. It does not happen often, but when it does it’s so vivid, like she’s reliving that moment all over again.

Every pound of her heart, every breath, every word and this feeling that she had only experienced in just that moment. She welcomes it, even though she almost died right there. But in a way that she is not able to comprehend, it felt like a rebirth.

She can hear a heartbeat echoing through her mind as she slowly finds herself leaving her dream state.

Ba-dum. Ba-dum.

It’s not her heartbeat she’s hearing right now.

“Hey Adora.”

The sound of that soft raspy voice followed by a slight purr fills her ears as Catra glances at her with a sleepy look. Her hooded eyes meet hers when she opens her own. A cool light floods through the curtains, not yet strong enough to illuminate the whole room. But she can see her lover bright and clear; And she could never get tired of the sight.

Catra’s long, wavy hair drapes over her bare shoulders and the blanket only covers a small portion of her torso, down to her legs. Her gaze is so gentle, that loving yet seductive look in her eyes is intoxicating.

Each morning Catra greets her that way and it always makes her cheeks blush. After all these years it’s still the best feeling in the world. Waking up to the woman she loves so deeply that she sometimes doesn’t understand how that is even possible. But she doesn’t dare question it.

“Hey Catra.” Adora says barely above a whisper before she kisses her forehead. Catra buries her face into her chest again.

“Your heart is beating so fast. You’re still so in love with me, huh, princess?”

“How could I not be in love with you?” Adora laughs.

“You’re such a dummy.” Catra says, muffled into Adora’s chest. She smiles from ear to ear and while Adora can’t see it, she can certainly feel it.

“Besides the fact that I am deeply in love with you, I actually dreamt about the Heart again.” Adora admits.

“Really?” Catra says, curiously bringing her face close to Adora’s to look at her before speaking again.

“Are you okay though? That hasn’t happened in a while now.”

“I’m okay, really! I mean it was intense… but at the same time I also like thinking about it.” A little smile creeps upon her face.

“You like it?” Catra smiles even though Adora has the feeling she’s secretly suppressing her laughter.

“Well are you surprised? I mean we confessed our feelings and our love story kind of started there.” Adora says with a slight blush accompanied by this dorky look on her face.

“You’re such a lovey dovey Adora.” Catra says while rolling her eyes.

“That’s why you love me.”

“Yeah, yeah shut up.” Catra takes a deep look into Adora's eyes. Her expression changes into something more serious.

“You know… we kind of almost died there. Not to be too dramatic, but… I guess I’m just worried about you.”

They have always had this way of caring for each other. Back in the Fright Zone, when one of them fell a little too hard during training, or even when they were officially enemies but would never seriously hurt each other on purpose (at least, not too seriously).

And now it’s more of a mental thing. The little are you okays or what’s the matters or taking each other's hand when one of them seems particularly stressed. Checking in on each other has always been something that was naturally a part of their relationship. Making each other feel seen.

Adora kisses Catra’s forehead again. It makes her cheeks blush. She can’t possibly know how much I love this.

“And you say I’m all lovey dovey.” Catra groans softly, even though Adora isn’t buying her fake frustration.

“I appreciate that you’re worried about me. But I’m okay, really. You know Perfuma’s sessions helped me too. She was really good at guiding me to work through everything that I’ve been through. That we’ve been through.” Adora says genuinely, because now she can actually recognize how far she’s come.

“Yeah, she’s a keeper, that's for sure. I wasn’t sure at first, you know. That, like, talking through things would help. But I guess I’m pretty thankful I did.”

She’s proud… of both of them. The thought alone that she couldn’t even have said these words out loud a couple of years ago and now she has skills such as communicating her feelings and stuff like that, isn’t all too bad.

“I’m thankful too. That you chose to get better. You know, not just for me or anything, or to prove yourself, but you did it for your own happiness. You deserve it.”

Catra smiles softly and gently locks their lips together. It’s lazy, but also peaceful and really sweet. These slow mornings are really the best.

“You deserve that too, baby.” Adora melts at the mention of that pet name. God I love her so much.

“We’ve learned a lot huh? So many years have passed, I kinda feel old now.”

“You are old.” Catra laughs, really enjoying teasing her girlfriend.

“Oh shut up! From what we know, you’re almost the same age as me, only one year of difference at most!”

“Nope, you’re still old, can’t change my mind.” Catra shakes her head like a little child. Adora groans dramatically, but Catra just giggles as she starts tickling her. There’s a devious smile on her face.

“Catra stop!” But she doesn’t stop.
She keeps tickling her, moving her fingers all over Adora’s torso and stomach. She can’t stop laughing and it’s so unfair because Catra knows exactly where she is the most sensitive. And she always uses it to her advantage (in many different scenarios).

“I’m not stopping, not until you admit that you’re old!”

They start fighting in the bed, Adora trying to escape the tickle attack. At this point, Catra is straddling her hips (they always end up like this) and she is enjoying every second of it. Catra loves feeling in control, even if, or especially, because she knows Adora is the physically stronger one. So seeing her girlfriend powerless like this really does something to her.

“Okay okay! Haha- I– I’m old– alright! Haha–” Adora admits breathlessly in-between her laughs.

The second Catra slows down her movements, Adora seizes the moment and grabs onto her wrists, tightly, and pulls her towards her.

Once her upper body is pressed up against hers they exchange a quick glance at each other. Adora looks smugly at Catra, whose eyes are wide with surprise. Then she twists them so that she is on top of Catra. She moves her face closely to her girlfriend’s, looking at her with a ridiculously overconfident expression and a raised eyebrow.

As much as she hates to admit it, Catra is enjoying the position they’re in a little too much.

Thankfully for her, they’ve managed to wake up Melog, who was previously laying in their designated cushion beside the bed, as they jump on with a concerned look. Brr?

“It’s okay Melog, Catra is just being a pain in the ass, nothing unusual.” She says as if she can understand them. It never fails to surprise Catra how accurately Adora can read what they mean. Usually she loves it, but not when it’s used against her.

“Oh that’s enough. Melog, attack!” Catra demands before they jump right onto Adora, who falls flat on her back, and start licking her face. Adora can’t stop laughing. It’s always the same with them.

“Oh no please Melog not you as well, you’re supposed to be on my side!” She says in-between laughs.

“Haha, yeah! Keep dreaming, princess, keep dreaming.” Catra just watches like a proud mother.

Their little war keeps going on for a few more minutes until Melog gets tired and starts dozing off again on the other end of the bed. They even start snoring a little bit, which calms the two of them down.

The tranquility of the morning returns as Catra lays between Adora's thighs, with her head on Adora's stomach. Her steady breaths ground Catra and she closes her eyes again. Adora brushes her wild hair softly, slightly scratching her scalp with her short fingernails as she enjoys the sounds of her purring.

Catra’s hair has grown pretty long again, almost the way it was before and it’s a beautiful familiarity. She has started wearing it in a ponytail most of the time, but when her hair is down like this, it looks a lot more raw and less put-together.

Adora loves Catra's hair, she always has. She liked the short hair too, she loved every look on Catra to be honest. It was like a new beginning for Catra, a new chance she took.

The process of growing it out has been really meaningful for her, reclaiming what Horde Prime took away from her while simultaneously writing a new chapter for herself. One of healing, one of love. One of laying in-between her lover’s thighs. What more could I ask for?

Catra has done so much since they’ve returned back to Bright Moon, trying to work on her forgiveness and trustworthiness. It wasn't easy, of course.

While some princesses of the Rebellion put a lot of faith in her early on, it wasn’t quite as easy with Mermista and Frosta, who couldn’t accept her as easily. But the Best Friend Squad helped rebuild their homes after the war, and Catra helped a lot, even though she is afraid of water. This always amused Mermista and Adora is certain it might have helped her forgive Catra.

Now, her and Catra share quite an interesting bond after they’ve realized just how similar they were. With the power of working together, they actually rebuilt all of the kingdoms and small villages that were destroyed by the war on Etheria.

Over the course of the last six years, Adora rebuilt forests and healed people as She-Ra. To her, it felt amazing to be useful and to do good things. She really felt needed at that time. And now… there isn’t really much more left to do.

Most of the princesses returned to their respective kingdoms, but they still hold their weekly meetings to update and visit each other to stay in touch.

Entrapta returned to Dryl, taking Hordak with her, to work on tech that would help improve kingdoms and villages all over Etheria. She is also constantly improving Darla and doing ongoing research on pretty much anything she can put her hands on. She really hasn’t changed that much in that regard.
The clones that were left of Horde Prime also spread all over the planet, some stayed at Bright Moon and some stayed in the places they helped restore.

It was both strange and also weirdly touching to see them develop distinct personalities and interests. At first, the people of Etheria didn’t really know how to react to them, but now they seem to be mostly accepted. Etherians are always the good-willing kind.

Some people even returned to the Fright Zone, which Scorpia chose to rebuild after the war had ended.

They thought a lot about what to do with that place. Scorpia never really felt a strong connection to the way the kingdom used to be before it was turned into the Fright Zone, and even though the memories are painful, some of the ex Horde soldiers missed their home.

So they decided to make the Fright Zone a better place and let people join freely to become soldiers in case they’d have to defend themselves someday. Now it’s a place of passing down knowledge and educating people about the history of Etheria and the ex-Horde.

Sometimes none of this feels real. Who would’ve thought things would turn out like this?

And now here she is, Adora, laying in an extremely soft bed with the woman she has always loved. No war, no fighting, no more pain, just them. Them, as a team. Them, with no sides left to choose from - Them, choosing each other. Embracing a life full of true love and acceptance.

There used to be times in which she thought there couldn’t possibly exist a world like this, one where she could truly have what she wants. Even just knowing what she wants. Actually, even just a world in which she is allowed to think about what she wants.

She is happy for the two of them and also for herself.

Most people were very supportive of Adora and Catra, even though Catra had to prove her worth to some of them. It wasn’t easy at first, but she worked very hard to earn her place.

Adora sometimes feared she would lose herself in the process, but she always attended Perfuma’s sessions, which helped guide her through it.

It was hard being confronted with the sides of herself that she hated the most. The guilt and regret used to overwhelm her before she learned how to regulate her emotions better. It took some time and even though they had their fair share of fights and restless nights, they managed to get better at communicating and understanding each other.

It was beautiful to witness their growth, Adora feels like their love for each other has only grown more and more through it. And even now, she just keeps on learning more from Catra each day. From the way she carries herself in this world, how she is never afraid to say what she thinks.

There is definitely no shortage of things she can admire about her.

After they rebuilt Etheria in record time, they chose to visit other planets and galaxies to search for tech and possibly, other life forms. Bringing magic back into the universe.

They have travelled a lot, spending years finding new planets and learning about other civilizations and cultures. It was adventurous and Adora always felt energized. Each time it was both scary and deeply exciting.

They have been around a lot but they still haven’t managed to find Eternia, which was the main purpose of their mission and something Adora had deeply wished for.

Eventually, they gave up on their search. They couldn't improve their search radius and had no trace of the planet whatsoever. Adora couldn't help but feel sad about it, not showing how much it was really affecting her.

She wasn’t even sure why it was so important to her. Not having activated She-Ra for a while now, and just living a “regular” life is strange to her–

Wait, is it 11 already?

“Love, I think we have to get up for the meeting.” Adora remembered, tapping on Catra’s shoulder slightly.

“Urghh can’t we just stay in bed? Those meetings are useless anyway, nothing is happening, we just chit chat and drink tea or eat something that Wrong Hordak has tried out in the kitchen.” Catra groans and snuggles further into the covers. She does not want to get out of this bed today.

“I mean it’ll be nice to see everyone again, don’t you think? And maybe we should give him a new name already.”

“Ugh, okay fine. But only because I’m in a good mood and it seems to be important to you. Also I think he’s already gotten used to that name.” Catra responds while throwing the blanket off of them. She instantly regrets it once she feels the cool air hitting her lower back.

“I wouldn’t want to miss anything important. What if there’s trouble and we’re not there to help?” Adora says while furrowing her brow, seemingly at the start of a thought spiral. The relaxation of this morning is fading by the second. For fuck’s sake.

“Adora, can you ever just exist without feeling the need to be useful for once? Etheria is at peace now, there is nothing to help with!” Catra responds half-jokingly, although she means all of it. She’s growing tired of Adora constantly repeating this thought pattern.

“Yeah, I know, maybe you’re right… I guess sometimes I don’t really know what to do.” She bites the corner of her mouth slightly in thought.

“There is nothing to do, Adora, besides laying in bed all day with your gorgeous wife.” Catra jokingly says, not paying attention to the little word that accidentally slipped her mouth.

“...Wife?” Adora says with the dumbest smirk on her face, raising her brow insufferably.

“Ughhhh you know what I mean. Girlfriend. Whatever. You’d never have the guts to marry me anyway.” Catra plays it off, although she can feel her heart beating faster than usual.

I hope she doesn’t notice. I don’t want to make a big deal out of this.

Thankfully Adora just smiles and kisses the side of Catra’s face.

“Whatever you say babe. You’re right though, maybe I should relax a little bit. Take it easy, you know?” Adora says in a laid-back tone. She is not taking it easy.

“Yes, that is quite literally exactly what everyone’s been saying. And I’m glad you are finally learning your lesson, princess.” Catra’s voice is low in the back of her throat and she moves closer to Adora until her face is mere inches away from Adora’s.

She looks down at her lips and leans in but stops when their lips are just barely touching. It sends a wave of electricity through Adora’s body and the brief pause just makes her more eager to kiss her. Each time Catra teases her like this she knows exactly what it does to her.

Adora leans in and closes her eyes, but before she can close the gap between them, Catra whispers to her.

“But I think we’re late to the meeting.”

Adora looks at the clock. Oh sh-

They get up in a rush and quickly get dressed and ready to attend the meeting, although Adora can’t say she isn’t both irritated and embarrassingly flustered from that previous interaction.

Maybe I should take it easy. Catra is right, nothing ground-breaking is going to happen at this meeting or any time soon.

Late as usual, Catra and Adora enter the conference room with most rebellion members already sitting in their designated seats. We really are late.

Adora is wearing a white long sleeve top reminiscent of the one she used to wear so often. It’s laced with minimal gold details, balancing out the sporty look with more elegant elements. Her hair is half up half down, switching up the ponytail look she used to wear all the time.

Catra has gotten around to wearing nicer button-down shirts, and the one she is wearing right now is plain black with golden buttons. Somewhere along the way they started wearing clothes that are always matching somehow, and Adora thinks it’s the cutest thing ever.

Looking around, she realizes just how much everyone has grown up. Why am I feeling so nostalgic all of a sudden?

Among the many rebellion members, she almost instantly finds the most familiar faces.

Mermista and Sea Hawk sit side-by-side, holding hands under the table, followed by a grown-up Frosta with a short haircut, who are all chatting and looking very laid-back. On their right she sees Scorpia and Perfuma, who smile and laugh wholeheartedly next to Entrapta and Hordak. Still weird getting used to that.

At some point Perfuma inspired her to try something new to symbolize change or whatever, so she let her bright silver hair grow out and now wears it in a braided ponytail most of the time.

Speaking of which, very soon after Horde Prime was defeated, they officially announced to everyone that they are a couple. And they have been going strong ever since! Scorpia even moved to New Plumeria and, to no one’s surprise, found her place to thrive there.

All the optimism and positivity that Perfuma’s kingdom radiates is polar opposite to what the Horde used to be like, and everyone is happy that she has finally found a place that feels like her.

When it comes to Entrapta and Hordak on the other hand, it really took everyone some time to adjust to whatever was happening there. They never officially announced anything on their relationship status, but it was blatantly obvious from the start that there was something going on between them.

Starting with the fact that Hordak chose to stay by Entrapta’s side no matter where she went, eventually moving to Dryl together once it was restored. He made a lot of progress on his own time, finding his personality through their shared interest in tech.

Who knows what is going on in his head though? Neither Catra nor Adora have had a real conversation with him about what had happened, partly due to the fact that his memory about everything was kind of all over the place since Prime “cleansed” him. He mostly remembers Entrapta and they figure if she is happy with him, their community supports it.

She glances over a few more people before her eyes land on Glimmer and Bow, sitting on the throne that marks the table’s halfway point. They look great together.

Glimmer is wearing a light rose dress with white details, a minimal tiara with a small gemstone on it and she has kept her hair short. Bow is wearing a matching light rose blazer, which is kept casual through the white and golden crop top he’s wearing underneath. He keeps his long hair in a bun and he has let his maintained beard grow a little across his chin, which Adora encouraged him to try out, and it kinda just stuck.

Both of them have matured so much, Glimmer has grown into a wonderful queen and continues to do so, while Bow is really connected to his adventurous side now. He has led many missions across the galaxy and often spends time with Entrapta and Hordak to get inspired for his own tech projects.

They have been sharing Angella’s earrings ever since, well, they got engaged a while ago. And it made a lot of sense to everyone to see them end up together. I mean, they have just always balanced each other out perfectly. And those earrings are really just a reminder of how proud Angella would be of them.

The engagement was a beautiful moment but they haven’t really talked much about it or any sort of wedding plans since then, and Adora is starting to wonder why. Are they hiding something?

By their side Micah sits next to two empty chairs meant to be occupied by Adora and Catra.

Initially he had some trouble settling back into Bright Moon, especially after so much has changed due to the war. And it’s clear he is still more adjusted to the way things used to be in the traditional kingdoms rather than how the new generation is handling it.

Regardless, he really seems to have found his place back in the kingdom, even if he is not king anymore.

Adora, Bow and Glimmer quickly exchange a warm smile before the girls make their way towards the huge table. They listen in on the chatter around them.

“So, like, we totally beat them to the other side. It was epic but don’t make a big deal out of it.” Mermista says, trying her best to contain her excitement.

“And it was all thanks to you, dearest! Hadn’t you put out the fire on our ship, we would’ve burned to the ground and crumbled under our failure!” Sea Hawk interjects in a very over-dramatic tone.

“What in the world are they talking about?” Catra whispers before reevaluating. “Actually, I kinda don’t wanna know.”

“You held a ship race?! That is the coolest thing I’ve ever heard!” Bow shouts with a voice crack, causing Catra to seriously reconsider why she joined the Rebellion again. Adora is the only one here who isn’t so dramatic-

“Okay, I take that offensive. You’ve literally seen me transform without the sword for the first time when we rescued Catra. You know, turning into Super She-Ra who can breathe in space? Destroying asteroids? Healing loved ones? Looking badass?” Adora says, scoffing sarcastically to show him just how personal she took his statement.

“Man, why did I have to be half-dead during that?” Catra groans comedically while sitting down in her chair.

This gets a laugh out of most people in the conference room and weirdly, it makes Catra feel really seen. It’s actually crazy that we can laugh about this now.

“Okay, now that you two have finally joined us, it’s time for the official part of the meeting.” Glimmer announces, practically jumping out of her chair.

“This sounds so much more serious than it actually is.” Catra whispers to Adora, who shushes her in response. Okay rude.

“Welcome everyone to our weekly Rebellion meeting. I am very pleased to see you all! Let me present to you Bright Moon’s weekly updates. This week we have…”

Glimmer looks down at the table, picking up a sheet of paper before looking back up in slight disappointment.

“Nothing!” She forces a laugh. “…Yay!”

Someone coughs, seemingly trying to break the awkward silence. It just kind of goes on like that for a minute before she tries (and fails) to make it better.

“Anyone else got updates?” Glimmer asks through her forced smile.

“Ooh! Ooh! Yes actually!” Scorpia says full of her usual excitement.

“As you all know, we have spent some time rebuilding the former Fright Zone into a new place, where training knowledge is passed down to the new generation of willing defenders of Etheria! Yeah I know this sounds a lot more serious than it is. I mean, fortunately, there is no immediate threat to Etheria and even if there was, General Lonnie is doing a phenomenal job…”

Perfuma slightly glares at Scorpia, who is getting caught up in her nervous rambling.

“Oh, okay, okay! What I meant to say was, Princess Perfuma and I have finally figured out a new name for the former Fright Zone! We’d like to introduce you to…”

There is a brief pause for theatrical effect.

“The Bright Zone!” Scorpia and Perfuma say in sync.

There is a short silence as the new information is being processed.

“That’s absolutely ridiculous!” Catra says while laughing at them, her voice squeaking. This leads to some displeased looks on her. But she can tell that a few people are holding in their laughs as well.

Adora pokes her side with her elbow, prompting her to say something nice.

“Uh, I mean… it’s, uh… fitting?” Catra says quietly, her voice almost cracking at the end of her sentence.

Then, everyone starts laughing and cheering. Huh?

“It’s so simple and yet so perfect!”

“It’s truly beautiful.”

“Great work you two!”

The voices of all the different Rebellion members overlap each other while most of them praise the new title Scorpia and Perfuma have come up with.

It’s just Mermista, Frosta and Catra who are quiet and just exchange a few very judgy looks, clearly doing their best to hold back more snarky remarks.

Catra glances at Adora, who is looking straight forward and is trying not to engage with the judgement. Her eyes are focused on the wall across the room and she doesn’t meet eyes with anyone, seemingly zoned out. How could I get her attention?

While everyone is somehow still focused on this useless conversation, Catra takes the opportunity to lightly trace her tail over Adora’s knee, moving it in a steady, circular motion over the thin fabric of her leggings.

This causes Adora to snap out of her trance and she turns her head to look at Catra first, before moving her eyes down where Catra’s tail is on her leg. She looks back up at her, raising her eyebrow and mouthing what are you doing?

“You still with us, princess?” Catra leans in and whispers, a smirk forming on her lips while her eyes are still completely fixated on Adora’s. She moves her tail further up her thigh ever so slowly.

Adora’s eyes widen and she purses her lips, trying not to act suspicious. But Catra can practically see the sweat forming on her forehead as she’s focusing very hard not to show a reaction.

She looks back up into Catra’s eyes, looks back down at her thigh and finally looks straight ahead again, gulping somewhere along the process. Oh, trying to act nonchalant?

Eyes still on Adora, she moves her tail even further up her leg, slowly reaching the part where her thigh meets her stomach. Finally, she leans further into Adora, whispering in her ear.

“I think we would’ve been more productive if we’d stayed in bed…” She says, moving her hand to her inner thigh and gripping tightly while breathing into her ear seductively.

Adora breathes in hard and closes her eyes, feeling a bright blush creeping upon her cheeks.

She’s pretty sure everyone can see how flustered she is right now. Just thinking about it being just the two of them again, in their bed with Catra’s hands all over her body, her lips on hers, whispering all these little things she desperately wants to hear–

“Moving on!” Glimmer clears her throat, nudging this conversation to move forward.

“Who else has updates?” Yet again she forces a smile, already knowing the answer will probably not contain anything serious.

“Queen Glimmer– if I may?” Wrong Hordak speaks up shyly.

“Of course! Let me guess… new dumpling recipe?” Glimmer smirks.

“Well actually, I tried my hand at combining some new herbs from the Whispering Woods with the help of a strange lady who lives there. I don’t remember her name… Jazz…?”

Wrong Hordak appears to be deep in thought.

“Well the important thing is, I have crafted a new tea recipe I would like you all to try today!” He says with a wink.

“Told you.” Catra whispers to Adora who meets her with a downward smile. She is glad their previous interaction was interrupted because she really couldn’t take much more of this teasing.

Then, the door opens and a couple of clones with hair in all different colors of the rainbow start flooding the room, carrying countless plates of mugs.

They are presented with the brand-new tea placed in front of them in tiny mugs.

It has an intensely fresh smell to it that instantly brings Adora some more nostalgia. Ah yes, the strange lady in the woods. She always comes back.

Everyone enjoys their tea and chats a little more and Adora kind of zones out again, taking in the ambience around her.

Familiar voices overlapping each other, the sounds of slurping and the clanking of various tableware, down to the buzzing of the ceiling lights. A warm moment of relaxation that she didn’t know wouldn’t be lasting much longer.

Because suddenly, Entrapta perks up and it looks like a little lightbulb has lit up in her head.

She remembered something.

“Oh! I actually completely forgot about this!”

The room falls quiet as everyone brings their undivided attention toward her.

“Through combining and evaluating some of my recent research I’ve learned that there might be a way for us to expand our search radius on Darla’s radar.”

This gets some questioning looks as it’s a little unclear what the point of her update is. Thankfully, she quickly catches on.

“We gave up looking for planets further out because previously we didn’t know how to detect them! But there is another way that might work!”

Now, Adora is all ears.

“Through analyzing and comparing genetic material using DNA samples, we can trace it back to its origin! Aka to the planet it originally stems from!”

She practically vibrates with excitement as she says the next words. Wait, does this mean–

“It means there’s a way we can find Eternia!”

Adora’s eyes widen and her mouth falls open ever so slightly as she completely tunes out anything else that is happening around her. Suddenly, she feels her inner body vibrating and the urge to run around the whole castle. She feels some sparks inside her that are about to turn into a big fire.

And she is about to act on it.

i hope you guys enjoyed the first chapter of this (probably long) fanfic!

this is our first fic and it's our love letter to she-ra (and to keep the community alive) <3

we're siblings and we share this beautiful hyperfixation with one another. there will be a LOT of lore that we extensively researched because we wanted it to feel like a realistic continuation of the show! and of course, as you might have noticed, it will feature a LOT of catradora fluff (and smut hehe).

we hope you love reading it just as much as we love writing it!! feel free to leave kudos and a comment, it's very much appreciated <3
