Work Text:
It felt as though Lei Heng had infected Ryoshu. Yet in the same breath it’s easy to say that she had infected him just as much.
Of course there were things both of them had similar tastes for, such as a thirst for blood and a taste for tobacco. Lei Heng smoked good, high quality cigars though he mentioned before that it wasn’t always the case.
“Climbing the ranks has its privileges, kitten.” He purred as he ritualistically cut the tip off of the cigar and lit it with his lighter before holding the flame to Ryoshu. “Used to get the craving and smoked whatever shitty cigarettes I could get my mitts on. Now, well,” he chuckled, “I can buy the finest cigars. As long as I didn’t go over my ammunition fee limit.”
“Being a Soldato was tough, of course.” He continued. “You’re considered less than dirt so you gotta show all the respect to those above ya.” A scoff and he inhaled on his cigar. “Even if they don’t really deserve it… I can talk shit right now cause I rose above ‘em but there was this one mother fucker that was a real piece of work. Took advantage of his higher status that was disrespectful as all hell. Like he’d forgotten where he came from. Then! He’d be a sniveling, brown nosed bastard to his superiors!”
There was something about the late nights after they’ve fucked that made Lei Heng particularly talkative and reminiscent. Especially after he had cleaned up the blood and fluids off of Ryoshu and himself and they were fresh, clean, and swimming in their mutual satisfaction. He would talk and Ryoshu listened. He understood that she didn’t like to waste breath lingering on the past.
They understood each other.
“Course, I became a Capo and rose above that mother fucker.” He smirked, smug. “He said one shit thing to me and I didn’t hesitate to take his bloated tongue. Bastard…”
Ryoshu laid her head on his chest, her ear to his heartbeat, and smoked her cigarette. “Sounds like an O.A.F.”
Lei Heng laughed and ruffled Ryoshu’s hair with his hand. “He sure fuckin’ was, kitten.”
He looked down at her with an open fondness and affection. Before, there was just heated lust and now his eyes met hers with something akin to obsession. It was possessive and all consuming. Yet, Lei Heng didn’t want to fully own Ryoshu. He enjoyed her glaring eyes and sharp smile. She was sharp, unpleasantly brash at the best of times and rude at the worst, and not to mention cruel to a point that continued to surprise Lei Heng.
He would never tame his kitten.
Just like how she wouldn’t kill him. At least not yet. It wasn’t never because Ryoshu wouldn’t fantasize about slicing his throat or smothering him in his sleep if she didn’t consider it. She wanted to make him a masterpiece yet there was something to be said about the artwork he made of her each night he placed his hands on her. The bruises blossoming on her skin like watercolor on wet paper with each harsh grip of his giant hands or strike to her body. Sweet, delicious cuts in her flesh that he would place with such care. Each touch from him was electric.
Lei Heng became addicted to Ryoshu. He repeatedly told her that fucking her was like a good fight where he could go all out. There was something about how she welcomed and encouraged all of his ferocity.
He combed his fingers through her silky hair and gently cradled the back of her head in his giant palm. “Darlin’... Kitten. You’re really somethin’, ain’t ya?”
Ryoshu raised an eyebrow. “W.B.T.O?”
“What brought this on?” Lei Heng smiled smugly and shook his head as if it was a stupid question. With her head in his hand, it shook it around gently. “Did all that huffin’ paint in that studio of yours rot your brain? Please.”
He pulled her closer until she half lay on top of him and wrapped his arm around her waist. “Do ya ever think ‘bout why I didn’t kill you the first time we met? How I never took yer sharp little tongue for being a mouthy brat? Plucked out yer pretty eyes for daring to look me in the eye?”
Ryoshu scowled and narrowed her eyes at him, her eyes scanning over Lei Heng’s face. After a second, she smirked and brought her face closer to his. “Thought you liked it. Entertained you until you decided to give me the T.P.O.” She leaned in close to whisper in his ear. “I.I.L.Y.L.”
She felt more than heard his chuckle as his chest jumped with it then it turned into a boisterous laugh. Lei Heng cradled her head in both hands and pulled her in for a biting kiss, nipping at her lip harsh enough to bleed. Ryoshu gasped and he took the opening to lick the taste of her blood into her mouth. Moaning, she reciprocated and bit his bottom lip hard until his blood mingled with hers on her tongue.
Lei Heng pulled away with a fond shake of his head. “Kitten, you’ve got some fuckin’ nerve to threaten me. You light a fire in me. That’s it, ya know. You’ve got a whole lotta fuckin’ nerve and it should piss me off but you ain’t bein’ a brat to be disrespectful. I know what you’re capable of, kitten.” She was like his sword: burning, destructive, difficult to handle in his grip, and beautiful.
He leaned in and purred. “And darlin’, I like it.”
Ryoshu admired how their shared blood smudged across his mouth and how the bite wound on his lip dripped blood down his stubbled chin. “Heh.” She caught some of the dripping blood on her thumb and smudged it more onto his skin.
“Of course you do. Masochist.” Ryoshu chuckled low. This man… There was a part of her that despised him, that was disgusted by him. And yet she reveled in it. Reveled in him.
Laughing, Lei Heng kissed her again and again. His hands roamed over her body and Ryoshu gripped his thick hair in her fists, tugging at the roots hard enough for him to grunt. He smiled into her mouth and she couldn’t help smiling as well in that sharp way she always did.
This wasn’t love. It was a mutual obsession of two monsters that understood each other.
