Chapter Text
The BPRD, often viewed as a relic of the pre quirk era, was still alive and well, though, the shift from the abnormal to the normal put a dampener on things. Izuku let out a quiet grunt as he landed, despite the rise of quirks and mutations, there were still things that went bump in the night. The werewolf he was facing howled in victory over the injured half demon, Izuku sighed, “You know, this could have been simple, why couldn't you just be a villain with a wolf quirk?” He swung his stone fist in a brutal uppercut as the beast charged, the lycanthrope fell in a heap with a shattered jaw as Izuku got to his feet.
He raised his weapon, a massive revolver loaded with silver rounds, “I don’t want to do this, I can help, but I can’t do that if you stay feral.” The red young man let out a tired sigh as his prey snarled and prepared to lunge, “Lord, have mercy upon your lost child.” The beast fell back, his lunge losing all momentum as the massive piece of silver tore through its chest, Izuku knelt next to him as he died and held his hand, the former beast slowly transformed into a human before letting out one last sigh as he went still.
Izuku gave a quick prayer for the man before calling in for clean-up, the voice on the other side of the call answered, “On their way, sending a copter as well, got a new mission for you, long one, if rumors are true.”

Inko lived a simple life, well, she tried to, but ‘simple’ wasn’t an option when raising someone like Izuku. The towering red boy departed the helicopter and immediately scooped her up in a warm hug. Inko returned the gesture with a gentle pat on his back, “I know you tried, that’s all you can do.”
The young half demon nodded and let her go, “Thanks, Mom.”
Inko reached up and cupped her adopted son’s cheek, “You got a bit battered.” She sighed, “Good thing you heal quickly, now, come on, the higher ups want to speak with us.” It was always a strange sight, seeing the towering, stone fisted, demonic, young man follow the small nun like a pup; but few were willing to voice their thoughts, partially to avoid said stone fist. Eventually, the pair reached the office of The BPRD’s current leader, Inko knocked and waited, making Izuku bend down so she could fix his coat collar as they did.
Abe Sapien’s voice called through the door, “Come in.” The pair entered and paused at the sight of The HPSC’s president sitting with the ancient amphibian man. The aged woman nodded respectfully as Inko sat with Izuku standing behind her, the ever vigilant and loyal son, despite their lack of shared blood. The president studied the young man for a moment, “You think he’s the right option for this?” She glanced at his distinct red skin and his massive stone right hand, “This task will require subtlety.”
Abe waved off her concern, “Absolutely, he is one of our best agents, I have yet to assign him a mission that hasn’t gone well.” The kind old amphibian sighed, “He will also have a vested interest in the situation.”
Izuku looked from the chairman to the president, “Can I get some context? I’m a bit lost.”
The HPSC president sighed and leaned forward, “It has come to our attention that a powerful villain has not only survived a serious injury, but he may also be allying with occult forces, namely, the forces that helped bring you to this world.”
Izuku stiffened, “The reason I’m here? I thought I was summoned by some crazies a a couple decades ago.”
The president nodded, “Yes, the man handling the ritual is still missing, we’ve presumed him dead, but his associates may still be active and trying to do what they failed to do then.”
Abe gave a grim nod, “We have reason to agree with her, our own resources have come up with similar information, which brings us to your next mission.” He slid a folder to Inko, “Izuku is to enroll in UA Academy, our informants seem to think the villain in question has an interest in that school, your task is to keep an eye out for the paranormal allies of said villain.” He smiled, “Best case, you have a few simple years as a normal college student, worst case...they may be after your hand.”
Izuku glanced at his stone fist, The Right Hand of Doom, there was nothing quite like having a key to the apocalypse on your arm. He sighed, “Great, and here I thought, I had enough stress in my life, now I have play hero while doing a full investigation.”
Inko chuckled, “I know you well enough to know it won’t be an act,” She leafed through the file, “I’m being thrown into this as well? I’m not exactly a young woman, anymore.”
Abe chuckled, “I’ve seen you do things that still frighten me, I assure you, you will be more than capable of handling whatever situation you get stuck in."
The small nun hummed quietly as she put the file down, “I’m okay with it,” She turned to Izuku, “Are you, my dear?”
Izuku hesitated, he had fought every type of monster on every continent at least several times, but something about this seemed different, more dangerous than usual. He took a steadying breath, “Okay, I just need to know what to do.”
The HPSC president smiled and handed him another file, “This contains your false transcripts, fake IDs for both of you, and an answer sheet for the written entrance exam, I trust you can handle the practical test.”
Izuku took the file and shifted nervously, “I don't know, the answer sheet feels like cheating.”
Inko sighed, “I’ll help you study, but this may be our best option." She took the files from the young man, “Why not a recommendation?”
Abe answered, “It avoids relying on a hero maintaining the same story as the one the two of you make, and I would recommend a simple one, avoid unnecessary details.”

Izuku sighed as he left the exam hall, “That test was evil.” He wasn’t proud of it, but using the answer key proved to be a grim necessity, he hoped those wouldn’t become common as this strange mission went on. He was knocked from his thoughts by the impact of a praying young woman. He knelt to help the vine haired girl to her feet, “Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention, I’m Izuku Midoriys, by the way.” He hesitated when he saw her face, it made his heart skip a beat to see her grateful smile as she held his stone hand for stability.
The young woman dusted herself off, “Ibara Shiozaki. It’s alright, I was’t paying attention, either, I was caught in my prayer.” She whined slightly when she realized she was missing something, “My cross, where did I put it?”
Izuku looked with her for a moment, he let out a triumphant chuckle when he found it, “Found it!” He scooped it up and studied it for a moment, “You prefer an empty cross?”
Ibara nodded as she put her necklace back on, “Yes, it represents the rebirth of Christ, and the hope that comes with it.”
Izuku hesitated, part of him dreading the answer to the question he wanted to ask, “If you don’t mind my asking, what denomination are you?”
Ibara smiled, “Protestant, and you?”
Izuku’s eyes narrowed, “Catholic.” Ibara nodded and thought for a moment before coming to a decision, she kicked his shin and rushed away as he put his normal hand to the hurt limb, “YOU PROTESTANT BITCH!”
Ibara yelled back as she entered the practical exam building, “EAT SHIT, POPE FUCKER!”
