Chapter 1: “Feeling full.”

Chapter Text

Beelzebub wanders through the hallways, of House of Lamination, with Belphegor in tow. The twins chat idly as the older twin chews on a sweet treat, savoring the flavor as he swallowed. Just as he took another bite, a painting of a small sheep caught the demon's eye. His mind immediately thinking of the human exchanged student.

"Neh, Belphie," Beelzebub said through muffled words, his mouth full of the sweet. "Where do you think [Y/N] is? I haven't seen them since yesterday."

The younger twin glances up at his older brother and thinks for a moment at his question, looking at his cow printed pillow in thought. It was true. Neither of them have seen the human since yesterday morning — where they abruptly left in a flash whenever the twins came to the dining room for breakfast — and haven't really made an attempt to find them.

With a tired sigh, Belphegor answers with his best reassuring tone. "They're probably busy. We do have an event coming up soon anyways."

Though his brother wouldn't admit it, Belphegor has grown fond of the human , despite their past experience. Nonetheless, Beelzebub seems content with his twin's response then finishes eating the sweet treat. His stomach already felt empty despite him just eating.

The two reach the living room, where they meet the rest of their brothers. As soon they enter through the threshold, a screaming match blew their eardrums. Mammon and Leviathan were arguing just in the center of the room.

"You useless, money grubbing loser! You still haven't given me my money back. I need it for the next limited edition Ruri-Chan figurine that's coming out." Leviathan shouts while shoving a magazine in Mammon's face.

"Ha?! You should just sell your' own figures for some money if ya' want it so bad." Mammon hollers back, pushing the magazine inches from his face.

Beelzebub and Belphegor only watch as Asmodeus and Lucifer attempt to calm the two down, with no success. Belphegor looks up towards his twin and motions for them to leave the living room. Just as Beelzebub was going to agree — wanting more food to grab from the kitchen — a familiar voice found its way into both of their ears.

"Will you two calm down? It's not that serious."

Beelzebub immediately perks up, any thought of food long forgotten, as he looks toward the commotion. Walking toward the chaos, with Belphegor in pursuit, Beelzebub simply grabs Leviathan by the scruff of his collar then places him a distance away from Mammon. Despite this, they continue to shout at each other. With Leviathan out of the way, Beelzebub could see [Y/N] standing in front of Mammon. They were scolding him pretty loudly about him returning the money.

They then turn towards Beelzebub with a soft, appreciative smile. With a breath he wasn't aware he was holding, he releases it after seeing their smile.

"Thank you, Beel. I'm sorry you had to intervene." They say apologetically.

Beel shakes his head. "No, it's alright. Belphie and I were just passing by when we heard what was happening."

Belphegor rubs his face into his pillow at the mention.

"Thank you nonetheless."

"[Y/N]."

"Hm?" They turn their head back to look at the taller one.

"Would you want to eat together later?" He asks shamelessly, not bothering to look at his brothers shocked expressions.

[Y/N] lets out a soft sigh before slightly bowing their head at him. "Sorry, Beel. I'm going to be a bit busy today, but we can talk later!"

With an apologetic smile, they turn toward Mammon then pinch his ear — hissing in response — and drags him out of the living room. But their, annoyed, nagging didn't go unheard by the brothers. Once out the door, Beelzebub is left with his brothers bombarding him and his motive of asking them to hang out alone. However, the subtle rumbling was all Beelzebub heard as he gazes longingly at the door.

Throughout the day, Beelzebub attempts to find [Y/N] after his brother's debacle, searching high and low around the house and school to find them. But whenever he does, they immediately excuse themselves to help Diavolo or Simeon with event planning.

"Sorry, Beel. I'll be able to talk with you right after I'm done. Promise!" They said.

"Actually, can we hang out after this meeting? I forgot a few things." They said.

"We can talk soon!" They said.

He grew mildly restless at every attempt where he would try to talk to them, just to hang out or even just to talk, they had an excuse and ran off. His stomach aches as he had little conversations with [Y/N], making him yearn for food. Nothing unordinary but slightly different.

He indulges in sweeping through the kitchen to grab any heavy food he could eat — which was everything he could carry — as he kept himself occupied. But nothing could satiate his hunger even when he worked out, hanging with his twin and getting in trouble, and more. Unfortunately, everything was not working and the hunger settle in his stomach as the hours pass.

The stars shift in the sky as the day drags on while the brothers, Diavolo and Barbatos, Luke and Simeon, along with Solomon have been setting up for a small student event; a little party that was hosted to give RAD students a break from schoolwork.

Beelzebub is found stringing up banners on a large ladder, Mammon and Satan holding the bottom half.

"Ngh. How are you weighing down the ladder, Beel?" Satan grunts.

Beelzebub looks down with small crinkle in his eyebrows. "Oh, sorry, Satan."

He goes back to hanging up the banner, sticking it in place with a small thumb tack into the wall. His mind lingers back to the human exchange student, making his stomach rumble in response.

"I need to eat something soon." He says to himself, rubbing his stomach with one hand whilst the other holds the banner in place.

"Ha! This just proves that im stronger than you." Mammon says triumphantly, despite him gritting his teeth to keep the ladder in place.

Satan's eyes widen in annoyance before he grips the ladder tightly, slightly shifting it, and making Beelzebub wobble. "Uh, guys." He informs wearily.

"You are stupid if you think that I'M weaker than YOU of all people." Satan bares his teeth at the other.

"I really want food." Beelzebub whines to himself.

Beelzebub holds onto the seat of the ladder as he attempts to resolve the situation - despite him being in a vulnerable spot. Nearby little D's look over at the commotion and see this scuffle, but hastily look away after they revive daggers from Satan's piercing eyes.

"Yer' just jealous that your' older brother is the strongest!" Mammon scoffs meanwhile his legs almost buckle underneath him as the ladder wobbles back and forth.

"You are delusional if you think I'm jealous of YOU."

Guys. Seriously I'm going to fall."

A quick swift of Satan pulling the ladder back to him, it tumbles down quickly with Beelzebub clutching onto the edge of the seat atop of the ladder. A loud crash echoes throughout the large room as Beelzebub rubs his arms and legs after colliding with the ground.

Little D's swarm Beelzebub as he gets up from the floor, his previous stomach rumble coming back tenfold. "I told you two that the ladder was wobbling," his eyebrows knit together. "And I told you to stop."

Satan and Mammon stare, slack jawed, as Beelzebub stomps toward them with an annoyed expression seeped into his face. However, a body is directly in front of him. At the top of the person's head, Beelzebub can recognize a tuff of [H/C] hair.

"Alright, Beel. I think you've made your point." They say calmly.

He only looks down to see them staring at him with kind, and understanding, eyes. His heart practically softens at this glance and his temper slowly dissipates — Mammon and Satan now slowly inching away from their mess.

"They're here." He mumbles to himself.

They did not hear the demon's muttering. With a tender hand, [Y/N] grabs onto his wrist and guides him toward out of the large room then into the school's hall. As they walk, he looks shamefully to the ground and his hand deep in his pocket. Barely missing a beat, they turn around and look at the tall demon with expecting eyes, waiting for him to explain.

"Satan and Mammon wanted to see who was stronger," They raise an eyebrow. "The ladder fell because of it." The human could only sigh as their eyes trail at his biceps.

With a gentle touch, they massage it to sooth any lingering pain. "Does this hurt?" They ask with a worried expression.

Beelzebub nods his head subtly — though the feeling of pain subsided not that long ago. His stomach rumbles, making [Y/N] giggle at the sound. As they gently massage the demon's arms, Beelzebub speaks up, his voice lower than his usual tone.

"Do you not like hanging out with me?" He asks uncharacteristically shy as he stares at them, making them stop abruptly.

"What? No. I love hanging out with you, Beel. Why?" They ask, eyebrows knit in confusion.

"You've been running around all day, even after I tried talking to you and inviting you out, so I assumed you didn't want to hang out with me."

[Y/N]'s eyes soften at Beelzebub's confession. They mull over internally for a moment, the hallway becoming deafeningly silent, before they answered. "I'm sorry, Beel. I've just been busy with planning this event." They rest their hand on his forearm. "If you're still willing to go out, we can hang out after this event." They suggest with a bright smile.

Beelzebub's rumbling stomach subsides as he revels in their bright smile. He subtly smiles back at the other and leans into their touch on his forearm, leaning his weight against their hand.

"Yeah. That would be fun." He nods.

The hunger that rumbled all throughout his stomach didn't seem to bother him throughout the rest of the day, now that he had something to look forward to.
