Chapter 1: Unwanted Chance....

Chapter Text

Sheng Shaoyou had experienced everything, and now, he had to experience it all over again.

He had given ShengFeng Biotech his everything, yet, in the end, he was betrayed. Those people sided with that illegitimate bastard and even planned his murder. It was a shame they never understood—Sheng Shaoyou wasn’t someone to be messed with. Yes, he had fallen prey, but that was bound to happen when one was surrounded by enemies.

Sheng Shaoyou was an S-class Alpha after all. In the end, he used up every drop of his pheromones and ensured none of his betrayers were left alive. Only after watching them die did he close his eyes.

As his heartbeat grew slower and slower, the strength in his body slipping away, he felt only one regret: “How exactly did the freak of X Holdings look?”

Then life left his body. He died with pride, sitting on the couch like a king, ambushed to his death—yet still leaving no traitor alive.

---

He woke up drenched in sweat, an Omega by his side.

“Mr. Sheng, let me help you!” the Omega said with a seductive smile, brushing his hands over Sheng Shaoyou’s thighs as he knelt before him.

Sheng Shaoyou didn’t know what was happening.

Furious, he kicked the Omega away and roared, “Get the fuck out!”

The Omega stumbled to his feet, terrified. He didn’t understand why Sheng Shaoyou had suddenly erupted in rage, but the Alpha’s fury felt scorching enough to burn him alive. Panicked, he ran out, panting in fear.

Sheng Shaoyou looked around, feeling his body, the pheromones he had already drained in his previous life.

“Why? Why am I here again?”

He had taken his revenge. His end was not pleasant, but he had been content. He wasn’t completely unaware of the ambush back then—that was why his will had already been prepared.

After him, Secretary Cheng was supposed to take the lead. The only loyal man who never left his side, Cheng would have fought to the death had he been there that night. But Sheng Shaoyou had ordered him away. Cheng had obeyed reluctantly, unwilling but unable to defy him. He had always been good to him. This time, Sheng Shaoyou swore he would treat him much better.

Picking up his phone from the side he checked the date.

It had only been a year since Sheng Shaoyou had taken official control, though he had already held authority long before. ShengFeng Biotech was still prosperous, but not for long.

Soon, “X” Holdings would announce an industry exchange conference, and ShengFeng Biotech would not be invited. That exclusion would give others the chance to mock and doubt the company’s credibility.

Although Sheng Shaoyou had worked to keep the company’s growth steady, too many pests kept gnawing away at it. Meanwhile, Shen Wenleng’s company flourished. It was as if “X” Holdings bore a personal grudge against ShengFeng Biotech—they never accepted dealings with it, even when ShengFeng was the better option.

Perhaps that was fate. The internal politics of ShengFeng Biotech only worsened until, finally, Sheng Shaoyou met his end.

But now… he was done.

He didn’t want to fight for power anymore. He didn’t want to be invincible. He only wanted to rest—to exist without cares.

Yet he had been given the chance he never wanted. As an S-class Alpha, he could not demand care. He could not live peacefully. He could not let go of the power he held. He could not relax.

So he decided—this time, they would die before even touching a strand of his hair. He would not care about “X” Holdings. He knew what lay ahead.

This time, ShengFeng Biotech would rise, because that was the only path left for him.

This time, there would be no slip-ups. This time, those people would pay.

But deep in his heart, a hidden wish lingered. To exist without burden. To be cared for. To not have to fight at every turn.

He wished for something impossible. For someone to treat him like something precious.

Yet, as an S-class Alpha at the pinnacle of humanity, that was a dream beyond reach. His strength demanded that he protect others, never the other way around.

Now, in the middle of his rut, his head pounding, his body aching for release, he only wanted to be alone.

He didn’t want to feel powerful—not tonight.

So he suppressed his body’s needs, let himself drift into sleep, and wished again—wished to be treated like something precious.

Alas, it was just a dream. A wish never meant to be fulfilled.
