Chapter Text
Your whole body felt like it got hit by a truck. The room around you was blurry and your head pounded.
The sound of dishes clinking together came another room.
Your blurry vision started focusing as you looked out a floor to ceiling window to your right… all you could see outside was a cloudy, overcast sky.
Slowly, you moved your weak arms to try to push yourself up in the bed that you were lying in.
Looking down, you found yourself wearing a large and unfamiliar button up shirt.
“What…is this?” You pulled at the silk material.
“Already trying to get out of bed, huh?”
You gasped and snapped your head to look at the man standing above you. You hadn’t seen him come in…
A large hand patted your head and gently pushed you back underneath the covers.
“Hey! Don’t touch me!” You slapped at his hand, missing your target in your confused state.
“Hey, hey. It’s alright”
his voice softened as he tried to settle you down
His voice sounded familiar, almost like…
“Where am I”
you demanded, throwing the covers back and pushing yourself back up in bed.
“Who are you, why am I here?”
The man clicked his tongue at your actions but didn’t stop you from moving.
He sighed before crouching beside the bed
“Its me, Caleb. You dummy”
“Is this a joke?”
You barked.
This was impossible, it had to be a practical joke.
He chuckled. Your vision had cleared just enough to make out the familiar features of …Caleb.
Caleb, who you played kitty cards with.
Caleb, who you watched working out through your phone screen.
Caleb, who was your fictional crush from Love and Deepspace…kneeling in front of you with concern written all over his face.
Maybe you were just dreaming…
You looked down again at the unfamiliar oversized button up shirt.
“What am I wearing? Did you…change my clothes?”
“Like you haven’t changed mine? Hmmm?Even made me wear a bath towel all those times”
Heat crawled over your face, remembering all of the times you did indeed change Caleb into a bath towel on the Home Screen.
“What are you talking-“
“No, what are YOU talking about, y/n?”
He snapped, getting to his knees and sitting on the bed, trapping you on either side with his arms.
He was big. A lot bigger than the small digital image on your phone screen.
“All those times you told me about your day, came to me for comfort, played all of our fun games… you’d even smile down at me from across that barrier that separated us…”
He reached for your hand, and you felt his warmth for the first time.
You pressed yourself back against the pillows, becoming dizzy as his words intensified. Everything about this was quickly becoming too real.
You tried to rip your hand away, and Caleb relinquished it after a few tugs.
“What on Earth did you DO?! How did I even get here? I must be losing my mind”
You laughed deliriously, covering your face with your hands. The stress from work probably had gotten to your head and was now driving you so completely insane that you were hallucinating your fictional crushes coming to life.
Caleb sighed before standing up
“I’ll tell you over dinner?” He extended his hand.
“I’m not hungr-hey!” He had pulled you up into his arms before you could deny his request.
“Nope. I don’t wanna hear it, pipsqueak. You’ve had a rough day, and you need to keep up your strength”
