if you were a sinner i could make you believe

Summary:

Sir Julien did not stay long at the funeral.

Notes:

…This is all Matt's fault for saying he was going to corrupt the fuck out of Sam. And Sam's for saying he was going to stick to his values no matter what. That's basically painting a target on yourself and daring me to fire.

I've been watching Critical Role for a while but haven't posted a fic for it before. So, new territory. Yay!

Title is from Disease by Lady Gaga because I have been listening to that song on repeat for a WHILE.

Work Text:

The funeral of a traitor and an adversary was not a place that he was interested in being. But Lady Aranessa needed closure. In spite of everything she'd still loved the bastard. Still, there was only so much whining and crying he could listen to over Thjazi Fang. So when the Halovar boy and his pet were scared off by Lady Aranessa, Julien decided to follow. It took guts to show up to the home of the man your House killed. What could that boy have been thinking?

As the boy and the demon strolled up to their carriage, a murmured conversation was becoming less murmured as they went.

"I just—" The boy was saying.

Tyranny interrupted him. "Yeah, you don't get it. She wanted to fucking skin you alive!"

"Swearing dims the light," he replied, though he looked mortified.

"Whatever," Tyranny rolled her eyes. "Look, she was super pissed at you, okay? That's why we had to go."

"So… You're not sick?"

"Kinda sick of this conversation but otherwise? Nah."

Julien had to smother a laugh at that. Though he wasn't successful, as the demon's eyes shifted from Halovar's face to his. Her eyes lit up and she grinned and waved at him.

"Did they kick you out of the funeral too?" Tyranny asked.

"I decided I needed a breath of fresh air," said Julien as he approached.

"Kinda sounds like you got kicked out and you're embarrassed about it," she teased.

The Halovar boy nearly dropped his cane. Then he said, "Oh, uh… I don't think we were properly introduced?"

"Indeed not. There was only time for a farewell. Allow me to greet you properly," said Julien. He gently took Halovar's hand in his ungloved one and said, "I am Sir Julien Davinos, a friend of Lady Aranessa. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Your Radiance." And he kissed the boy's hand.

Tyranny smirked mischievously, and Halovar's face was so red it made the tattoos on his face practically shimmer.

"Uh, nice to meet you, too," Halovar replied. He gripped his cane so tight his knuckles turned white.

"I was curious. Obviously I've heard of the Candescent Creed, but I'm not overly familiar with the tenants of your faith. I would love to hear more about it," said Julien.

The demon's smirk turned into a grin. "That's such a great idea! Wiccy's a really good teacher! I've learned a lot from him."

"Oh, uh, I mean, I'm still—" He tried to say. He was flustered, and it was adorable.

Julien was going to enjoy this.

But Tyranny wasn't to be deterred. She jumped up onto the driver's box of the carriage and said, "I can just sit up here." She patted the driver's shoulder. "You don't mind, right?"

"Not at all," said the driver, who seemed just as confused.

"Splendid," Julien said, and opened the door to the carriage. He held a hand out to Halovar and added, "Shall we?"

Halovar was still struggling, but then he nodded and took Julien's hand. He helped Halovar up into the carriage, and then climbed in after him. Once the doors were close, the carriage began to roll. Julien could hear Tyranny talking the driver's ear off.

"So, what do you want to know?" Halovar was still nervous, but there was a determined tilt to his jaw that was absolutely adorable.

Julien shifted closer to the boy, so there was barely an inch between them.

"What are the views of the Candescent Creed on things such as intimacy?"

He cleared his throat. "Uh, well, intimacy is of course natural between those who share the light."

"Oh? Is that all forms of intimacy?"

Julien let the tips of his nails drag along the top of Halovar's thigh. It made him squeak.

"I, uh, it's, um, it's not forbidden, per se. But our bodies are temples to the light and should be treated as such."

He was making this too easy.

"You've had a very difficult day," Julien observed. He used his fingers to pull up part of Halovar's tunic. "It was brave of you, what you did."

Halovar shook his head. "No, I, uh, it wasn't brave. It was the least I could do. I wish I could have done more. To—" He gasped when Julien's hand slipped under the band of his trousers. "What are you doing?"

He leaned in close, and whispered in Halovar's ear. "I want to worship at your temple," then Julien nibbled on his earlobe.

"Why?"

"Because you're beautiful," Julien said. He kissed Halovar's throat. "And brave. And there is a light inside you I want to get closer to."

So he could put it out, but Halovar didn't need to know that part.

Julien found Halovar's cock, half hard already. He smirked as he stroked Halovar, and the boy whimpered.

"We shouldn't," he whined. "I, uh, oh that’s… I know you're close with Lady Aranessa and she's, uh, she's apparently not fond of me at the moment."

While it was true this would probably irritate his lady, he simply smiled and asked, "Do you want me to stop?"

Halovar squeaked when Julien's hand went still. Then, face red with shame, his gaze dropped to the floor of the carriage and he shook his head. "No."

"Then sit back and let me please you."

Julien kissed him. Soft at first, a mere meeting of lips. Then Julien deepened the kiss, and Halovar whimpered into his mouth. As their tongues danced around each other, Julien kept up a steady rhythm. He could feel how Halovar was quaking under his hand, and he wanted more.

He wanted Wicander Halovar under him, writhing and crying out deliriously. Or on top of him, sobbing with shame as he sought his own release. Perhaps even somewhere they would be caught. He would be so beautiful with tears streaming down his face and ass full of cock. That demon, Tyranny, she could even help hold him in place. He was so hard at the thought, it was making Julien dizzy.

But it was too soon for that.

For now, he would have to slowly introduce the boy to pleasure. Julien was certain he didn't receive much of it. Not growing up in a place like House Halovar.

Julien felt a squirt of precome against his fingers, and he pulled out of the kiss. Halovar was gasping, his eyes closed, and trying so valiantly to remain silent. While no one outside the carriage could see them, they would be overheard if Halovar wasn't careful. He decided to help the boy out.

His free hand went over Halovar's mouth, and his eyes flew open in surprise. Julien murmured, "So we don't attract unwanted attention."

Halovar's eyes widened with panic. Clearly, it didn't occur to him someone might be listening. Still, he didn't pull away. His hips thrust into Julien's hand, and he was trembling.

"Are you close?"

Halovar nodded.

He whispered in the boy's ear, "Then come for me, Your Radiance."

The boy moaned, long and low. And it was a good thing that Julien still had him gagged with his hand. The splash of hot come made Halovar squirm, and something in Julien's chest leaped. Something dark that relished in the guilt written all over the boy's face.

"How do you feel?" Julien asked.

"I…" He trailed off, and then murmured. "Good, but also… Awful. That, we shouldn't have done that."

He removed his hand from Halovar's trousers, then licked the boy's spend from his fingers. He maintained eye contact the entire time, and Halovar gulped.

"There's no shame in what we've done," Julien told him once his hands was, relatively, clean. "I would love to do so again."

The carriage came to a halt, and the door was thrown open by Tyranny.

"We're heeeeere," she said, her grin devilish.

"Oh! Uh, I, uh, good. We should, um, we should go. And pray."

Halovar scrambled out of the carriage, and then turned to look at Julien. "I'll ask the driver to take you wherever you like."

"Might I call on you again?" Julien asked, just the tiniest edge to his voice as to what he really meant.

Halovar blanched at that, but he nodded. "Uh, yes. Any time."

"Thank you, Your Radiance. It was a most illuminating chat," Julien said. Then instructed the driver to take him back to the Fang house.

As the carriage rumbled along, he was grinning to himself.

He would dim that boy's light, one way or another.
