The last time he had seen Camelot was more than a decade ago, and under different circumstances. It had been a beautiful kingdom, but war had broken out, and then it's king died and all fell into darkness to the South of Liones. In meeting Camelot's new King, Arthur Pendragon, Meliodas had no doubt he'd be the light in its darkness. But, Meliodas couldn't help but think about what was happening in Camelot that its righteous king needed more than just the Boar Sin of Gluttony. What more dangers were arising to which the Seven Deadly Sins must answer to?
The ex-Holy Knight tilted his head as the wind wiped at his face, blond locks forming a halo around his head.
Barta's vision had shown him the future, and his prophecy said the Holy War was to come. And despite being an old poem of Britannia, there was no mistaking the crosses formed by that meteor shower.
He didn't want Elizabeth to get caught in the crossfire, but the thought of not seeing her again...
She was human and mortal. Her life was the rise and dawn of a day in his life.
He tilted his head in thought to the other side, the sunlight caressing his features.
Weren't humans always saying to live life to the fullest? Wouldn't living with Elizabeth by her side be enough, even if just from one dawn to its dusk?
"I've resolved to find the seven deadly sins with you and to stop the Holy Knights.
Even if you were to die, I would fulfill the promise I made with you."
Meliodas's mind went blank for a moment before a grin brightened his once passive face.
They made a promise...
...and it was yet to be fulfilled.
His heart lurched in his chest.
She was coming with him.
"What are you smiling at?" a high pitched voice asked.
Meliodas looked down at Hawk's small pig form. "You'll see," he answered. He crouched low on the green skin of Hawk's mother and leaned forward to catch a glimpse of her eye, grin never seizing, and heart never slowing its quick beat. "Hawk's mom-to the castle!" A promise must be kept.
Meliodas felt their direction change, the castle of Liones coming to view.
