Timeline:after they found out lloyd was the green ninja
“All of my training to become the best ninja wasn’t in preparation to become the Green Ninja. It was... to protect him.” (blah blah small time skip to after the golden weapons reacted to him and stuff)
Kai was sitting with Nya by the steering wheel of the destiny bounty,talking about Lloyd,not knowing Lloyd was eavesdropping on them.
“I just don't get why he got to be the Green Ninja!” He slammed his hand on the wooden deck. “I mean,I've been training for years,and now he comes in and just becomes the green ninja?! He's a kid! He doesn't know what he's doing!” Kai ranted to Nya,meanwhile,behind them,Lloyd,red-eyed and holding back tears,listened to Kai’s cruel words. “Do I really not deserve to be the green ninja?” Lloyd thought to himself,his hands trembling.
“Dont you think those are harsh words,Kai? I mean he's just a kid,he didn’t want to be the green ninja,you saw how sad he is about having to fight his own father..” Nya said,trying to offer Kai a different angle to view things from.
“I mean yeah,but come on! I-I was so sure I was the green ninja and he just comes in and takes the role!” Kai said,frustrated.
Lloyd clenched his fists,trying not to go up to Kai and yell at him,though his eyes told a whole different story,his eyes were swollen up from holding back the tears,just as he was about to turn around and walk away,Nya noticed him,looking him in the eyes,Kai noticed her eyes looking in that direction,looking as well now,noticing Lloyd standing there,almost crying.. “W-wait- Lloyd I didn’t mean it like that..” Kai said softly,trying to make up an excuse for his cruel words.
