Work Text:
For such a simple request, Marius seemed quite stunned. Three blinking lights stare at Cheets, sitting on Marius' desk and gently swinging her legs back and forth, as if trying to process what he heard, sitting in quiet disbelief.
"Repeat that again, Cheets? I do not believe I heard that correctly—" He started, before being cut off.
"I want ya to a purring mechanic to the respirator! C'mon, it can't be that hard, right?" Cheets said, a smile audible in her voice, resting an elbow on her leg and her face on her hand.
A few moments passed before Marius directed his gaze away from her with a tired sigh, stating plainly, "That would be unnecessary for it to serve its function. You do not need such a thing." His lights look at her again, flickering for a second, before he goes back to tinkering on his own armored arm.
Cheets huffed, crossing her arms, "Can't a girl have some fun, Marius? That wouldn't be beyond what ya can do, y'know."
"It's quite a frivolous thing to spend our time on."
"Is there any better projects then?" She asked, squinting at Marius.
"… I suppose not. Fine. Hand it over to me. It shouldn't take long." Marius sighed, extending a clawed hand out to Cheets, who handed him the respirator mask with a triumphant giggle.
After a few hours of work, some test fittings and adjusting, and with Cheets keeping him company for that time, Marius managed to make as asked of him, gently placing the respirator on Cheets' face.
"That should be done now. Test it again, Cheets." He said, speaking softly.
She nodded, and out the mask came a soft purring noise, as catlike as Marius could get it. He noticed her eyes brighten up, clearly delighted by this addition to her equipment. The purring got louder, her hands tapping excitedly on her legs.
"Marius, Marius!" Cheets called out, excited. "Thank you!" She said, the purring still audible.
"Think nothing of it." Marius replied, looking at his work. Thank God that Cheets couldn't see the smile on his face right now.
