Work Text:

gavin newsom was seated quietly at a table inside of a public library. he was situated in a corner so that other people could not look at what he was viewing on his computer, or look on at any notes he may have on paper. using his wired apple-brand earpods hooked up to his laptop, he was casually looking at social media on the computer screen. his eyes lingered on an instagram post about mike johnson, speaker of the house of representatives. he clicked on the play button for the video and watched as the man acted rude and disrespectful to reporters who were asking him reasonable questions. gavin squinted his eyes and opened another tab, his slender, nimble fingers scattering across the keyboard to navigate over to reddit.

gavin typed the context of the instagram clip into the reddit search bar and located a longer version. he leaned back in the chair and watched the full length of the video, his thumb sitting under his chin and fingers above his lip in an observant yet judgmental pose. here in the video was a man who perhaps was acting a little immature for his age, wasn’t he? gavin paused the video and quickly googled the speaker’s age. oh yeah, he thought, this person was not as refined in character as a 53-year-old should be, especially not someone who was supposed to be so dignified and respected. he finished watching the video and then took a look at the comments section. as his eyes bounced from comment to comment, his eyebrows raising in surprise at the way no one seemed to be holding back or watering down their opinions under this video.

“his smug little bitch face is so freaking punchable.”

“his eye rolls were not subtle tonight.”
yeah, that was definitely true, gavin thought. that man didn’t even seem to have the decency to hide that he’d rather be anywhere but where he was. did the man ever smile? gavin quickly googled the thought. he clicked through pictures of tight-lipped, fake smiles the speaker would put on, bored. then, he came across a photo that he almost wished he could un-see. wow, that was his real smile? gavin closed the google images tab and resumed reading the same reddit comment section.

“he looks like a ventriloquist dummy.”
glossing over the obvious knock at the speaker’s physical appearance, gavin pondered: well, was there really a difference? the only time he has a mind of his own is when his nasty attitude is put on display when he is forced to answer tough questions.

“he is so creepy and off-putting.”
the governor considered this take for a moment. google’s english dictionary defines the word as “causing an unpleasant feeling of fear or unease”; webster says that the adjective’s meaning is “producing a nervous shivery apprehension.” he exhaled as he thought about it. well, yes, mr. johnson did seem to be quite unpleasant and his demeanor did come across as off-putting and almost mysterious, so maybe he could agree with that one too. next!

“i’d pay good money to see him break.”
gavin felt something strange come over him when he read those words; it immediately and genuinely intrigued him. he weighed the meaning of that last one for a second or two, trying to decide if the commenter meant what he thought the words meant. a deep interest, like a cloak woven of contempt, determination, and with undeniable lustful undertones, fell over gavin in that moment. his lips stung with anticipation as he quickly decided that he had to be the person to bring those words to life; he would break mike johnson, and he would enjoy every step and second of it.

with patience, the time for gavin to strike eventually came. instead of going through the trouble of luring his prey in, gavin preferred to go right to where the unsuspecting target would surely be found - at his home away from home. gavin casually rode a sidewalk rental bicycle several miles to the humble hideaway, anticipating that the speaker would be spending his time lounging leisurely as if he didn’t have any work to do. eyeing the house, gavin let the bike fall to the ground without care. dressed in casual clothes, gavin excitedly darted up the steps of the home without pause. he knocked on the door in a friendly manner and stepped back a bit.

being just as stupid as gavin hoped he’d be, mike johnson opened the door without even asking who was there. the speaker looked surprised to see gavin’s face at his door, and was so caught off-guard that he stumbled over his words when he spoke. “governor? what are you doing here - i-i mean…is there something i can do for you?” he asked, blinking in clear confusion.

gavin rubbed his hands together as if he was trying to warm them up. “it’s cold out here. may i step inside?” he asked, feigning politeness. he looked over mike’s attire, taking in how different he looked dressed in more casual, comfortable clothes - a green, quarter zip sweater and jeans - than a suit and tie.

the southern-born man could not deny gavin warmth, and so he moved aside to allow him to come into his home. he gave an awkward half-smile after closing the door, looking up at newsom, who towered over him in his own space, cluelessly.

“speaker johnson, you seem to lack the venomous attitude that you showed the press not too long ago. is there something about reporters that makes you think that you can talk to them any kind of way? do you think that they are somehow ‘lower’ than you or me?” gavin asked.

“what? no, why would i think that? i never treat anyone how i wouldn’t want to be treated,” he denied.

“really? i’m sure i could easily find the video online of you being rude to them. should i do that?”

mike clenched his jaw as he considered the words. “i guess my behavior can be interpreted differently by different people, especially those who weren’t even in the room, or perhaps someone who doesn’t understand the context of the discussion or the questions they were asking me.”

“right,” gavin said sarcastically, the quick insult not lost on him. he could already see that mike didn’t seem to be open to admit that his behavior was out of line, as it was evidently a normal occurrence. “i think that you have a problem with taking accountability,” gavin suggested, stepping closer to the speaker, who seemed to be getting nervous being so close to him.

“we’re going to fix that today,” gavin announced, laying a heavy hand on mike’s shoulder, his head cocked to the side with a confident smirk on his lips.

at the point, it was clear that mike sensed he was in danger. his face went blank and his slightly off-center bottom lip twitched. was that a physical deformity he’d had since birth, or had the man sustained an injury to cause that? gavin wondered.

“i don’t really know what you mean by that, but it-it’s really not a good time for me right now,” mike said and reached his hand in the direction of the door handle.

but it was too late. gavin newsom had already made up his mind, and he was not an easily swayed person. in the blink of an eye, his hand moved from mike’s shoulder to his neck, and he harshly plowed the nervous speaker’s body into the wall behind him. apparently, that was all it took to startle mike, who was already shaking from the abrupt mistreatment.

“oh, what, you’re not shaking your head and rolling your eyes now?” newsom mocked. “was it something i said?”

“governor, i-i’m sure there’s other ways we can resolve your…disapproval of my words that night. would you please…”

mike’s heart was pounding in his chest as his fear incapacitated him. his legs felt unstable, he was absolutely cornered, and he was having a hard time thinking of a way out of the situation. “please…take your hands off of me,” he asked of newsom, his voice shaking.

the plea gave gavin a hint of satisfaction, and he wanted to sink his teeth even deeper into the man before him; he wanted more.

“nah,” gavin muttered. “have you ever heard someone say, ‘respect is earned, not given’?” gavin asked. when he received no answer from mike, he began to close his hand around mike’s neck, restricting his breathing. there was an almost desperate look in mike’s eyes, and his hands came up to attempt to push gavin off of him, but it was pointless. gavin was larger and stronger than him, and it was even more difficult to fight him off while he was being choked.

gavin enjoyed the way mike fought, though, and only released him once mike’s hands stopped struggling against him. once freed, mike began gasping for air and sank down to the floor as the room spun around him. gavin bent down and grabbed the man’s collar, forcing him to sit upright.

“if it was up to me, you would be up bright and early every fucking morning, dressed in gym clothes or just your underwear and forced to run laps around that tennis court, forced to jump rope, definitely in your underwear,” gavin seethed. “maybe some physical discipline would make you a little more respectful, and therefore respect-ABLE,” he emphasized.

mike seemed to be looking off into the distance, perhaps disassociating from reality, and newsom took offense to that.

“are you listening to me?!” gavin truly raised his voice for the first time during their interaction. “you rat fucking -“ he backhanded the mike across the face violently - “bastard!”

dark, crimson blood trickled out of one of mike’s nostrils as a result of the assault. breathing heavily, he attempted to escape by beginning to crawl away, but gavin grabbed the waistline of the back of his jeans and yanked him back almost immediately. “you COWARD!” gavin screamed, seemingly very angry. “you want to crawl, so be it.” gavin stood and grabbed mike’s ankles, each hand holding either ankle securely. mike groaned as his chest lay flat against the floor.

“walk!” gavin demanded.

another pained sound came from mike, but after a moment, he began to use his hands to “walk” as gavin held his ankles high and hostage. gavin watched with great pleasure and satisfaction, trailing behind mike as he navigated around the room on just his hands, with trembling arms that struggled to keep himself up. the man looked truly pathetic.

without warning, he let go of mike’s ankles, causing his body to crash to the floor like a discarded basket of laundry.

“ah-ow!” mike moaned.

“does it hurt, mike?” gavin taunted.

just as mike went to peel himself up off of the floor, gavin looped his arm under the speaker’s stomach and yanked his body up in one quick motion. mike’s legs flailed slightly and his arms hung downward as gavin easily maneuvered into the kitchen, where he seated mike atop the table. those short, insufficient legs dangled embarrassingly; the man would have to jump down slightly from the table in order to stand up normally.

mike already appeared to be exhausted from gavin’s gross mistreatment of him, and it was obvious that he was fearful of what gavin would do next. his breathing was ragged and his body was shaking uncontrollably.

“while i’m here, let me just ask you something,” gavin said, crowding mike once again. “what the fuck is your problem? why is it that you act like that, huh?”

gavin had rode his bike all this way, so he was leaving with some type of answer, though he already had a few ideas of what contributed to the aforementioned attitude problems and regular disrespectful behavior.

with a trembling hand, mike wiped the blood from under his nose, feeling as though he was about to have a panic attack or maybe even faint from fear. “i-i don’t know what it is…what you’re asking me,” he tried.

“no, no, NO!” gavin exclaimed. he pointed his finger in mike’s face. “what did i TELL you about that?” he boomed, then laughed incredulously. “use your words, asshole, and tell me why you’re such a rude, insecure little piece of shit,” gavin seethed.

mike tried to breathe deeply, looked around the room, then moved to jump down from the table, but gavin quickly grabbed his hips in a vice grip, effectively securing mike to the table in the same position. mike’s ears couldn’t have possibly gotten any redder than they were in that moment. it appeared that the air inside of his home wasn’t enough for him as he gasped and attempted to breathe normally. “please,” he begged quietly between breaths. “please, i…”

the governor felt the familiar beginnings of physical arousal blossoming within himself, and he leaned closer to mike, pausing for a moment before laying a soft kiss just below his jawline.

“oh no, no,” mike mumbled, closing his eyes as gavin kissed his neck again and again. his small, clumsy hands came up to push gavin away, but only rested on gavin’s chest.

“yeah, i think i know what your problem is,” gavin said lowly, his voice full of satisfaction and curiosity.

mike’s breath hitched loudly as gavin pressed on, his teeth chattering at times. he was truly overwhelmed and teetering on emotional collapse.

“the conversion camp didn’t work,” gavin said through gritted teeth. “and now you have a chip on your shoulder because you have to live a life that is unfulfilling to you,” he added.

mike was once again looking around the room, like there was anyone coming to help him. he attempted to straighten his clothing as if that would change anything for the better, his mind swarmed with discomfort and panic.

gavin let go of mike’s hips to allow the man to engage in his clothes-fixing compulsion. cheaply helping mike make himself look presentable, gavin gently pushed the smaller man’s glasses up his nose, back into place. not allowing him a moment more of peace, gavin continued, “did something happen at conversion camp, mike?” he asked cruelly.

“no,” mike answered.

gavin was actually surprised that he answered at all. he tilted his head to the side as he thought, then slowly rubbed his hands up and down mike’s thighs. “did something happen…after?” he asked, his voice going deeper at the last word.

mike seemed to be staring into the distance once again, looking beyond gavin’s shoulder. gavin wondered what was going on in that pathetic little weasel brain of his as he watched him attentively. he was almost surprised to see real tears well up in mike’s eyes. he watched closely as the sad, dark eyes became so full of the salty liquid, and as a blush crept across the bridge of his nose and along his youthful-looking cheeks. the physical manifestation of years and years of pain dripped from his eyes as he sat there looking otherwise expressionless. reduced to the likeness of a lost and scared child, mike did nothing to conceal the tears that collected behind his glasses and leaked down the sides of his face.

mike was being forced to re-live the painful memories of his past: the catalyst of his outward troubles with his sexuality and the trauma of being outcast socially and by his own family. he mentally recalled being caught kissing another boy as a teen, having wrongly assumed a backyard treehouse was a secure place to interact romantically one summer day. his mind shuffled through the physical beatings, the punishment he endured at the hands of his father once his sins were discovered, the way he was isolated from his family after that for his homosexual behavior. mike was not allowed to eat with the rest of his family until he was sent to and returned from camp. he remembered how strong the pain of rejection was, how horrible and disgusting he felt in the confines of his attic room, crying with all of his soul as the rest of his family ate and mingled without him, their union pure and clean in his absence. then, upon his return from the christian camp, came the ridicule and humiliation he faced from his peers who had found out about his “conversion” when school resumed.

“you are so fucked up now, mike. stop making it everyone else’s problem. please,” gavin spoke. he wiped away tears from mike’s cheeks. gavin watched the pitiful man break into sobs at his words. he was beautiful like this, in gavin’s opinion. “shh, shh, shh,” gavin hushed him, kissing his cheek a few times, the tears wetting his lips. he dared to hover his lips over mike’s for a second, only kissing him when mike didn’t move away.

still, those stubborn hands returned, threatening to reject gavin’s affection. gavin licked mike’s bottom lip and kissed him, seductively suckling the bottom lip for a fraction of a second, teasing. “just say you want it, that’s all you have to do,” gavin said quietly, his twisted soul finding great enjoyment in mike’s unstable and hitching breath.

“i can’t,” mike whined, struggling to breathe normally.

“yes you can,” gavin encouraged. “tell it to me, i’m the only one here.” he kissed mike’s neck, his nose nuzzling the soft skin.

it felt so good. mike’s body shivered with need as sensual desire folded into the barrage of emotion he was experiencing. gavin wrapped his arms around mike, hugging him tightly and pulling up on his body. he rocked him side to side before leaning his head down and kissing his ear.

“i can see it in your eyes. i can feel it in your body. just admit it, it won’t hurt. not like before,” gavin assured him.

mike closed his eyes and sucked in as much air as he could get, weighing gavin’s tactful and poignant words of persuasion. he nodded, unable to verbalize his wishes, but that’s all gavin needed. he parted mike’s trembling knees and pressed himself between them, then hugged mike again, this time feeling so much closer. he touched him all over, not wanting to leave any part unmarked. he pressed mike back so that he was laid out on the table, kissing him and enjoying the reciprocation that mike was finally showing him in their kisses. gavin really just wanted to eat mike up like he was a big piece of chocolate cake, covered and dripping with delicious, mouth-watering icing.

as gavin pulled off mike’s pants, he thought to himself that there was no way he could be any more turned on than he already was. mike’s legs were soft, pale, and unsteady. all of that kool aid and fucking sweat tea, or whatever those southerners drink, was definitely doing mike right; his body was not frail, gavin thought. he hungrily sucked a hickey onto mike’s inner thigh, biting down hard at the end and making mike gasp softly. leaning down, he pinned mike’s wrists to the table and eagerly kissed him.

“change your mind yet?” gavin asked as he pulled back, looking down at the other.

“no,” mike answered. he reached his hands to gavin’s jeans and slowly unbuttoned and unzipped them.

gavin took much satisfaction in the younger, nerdy-looking man’s action. he pushed his own pants down his hips, assuming that’s the way that mike wanted things. “you want me to take my shirt off?” gavin asked.

mike nodded. his heart skipped a beat when gavin removed his jacket and shirt, then cast them aside. it was mesmerizing to have such a beautiful, powerful man strip down in front of him, just for him. once gavin shed his underwear, mike was totally hard and dripping with need inside of his own boxers. gavin yanked them down and threw them over his shoulder. gavin pushed mikes sweater up, and without saying or doing anything else, he pressed himself against mike, rubbing his cock against mike’s. he spit on their joined erections casually and began to stroke them together in his large hand as he rocked his hips into mike’s.

“oh-“ mike moaned, delightfully taken by surprise. he closed his eyes as undeniable pleasure coursed through him. although he probably wouldn’t admit it, being half-naked with his legs spread while basically underneath gavin was pretty liberating. he tried to suppress the sounds that floated out of his lungs and vibrated against his vocal cords, but he was mostly unsuccessful. more and more precum from both men and more spit from gavin kept the motions smooth and easy. the wetness turned mike on unbelievably.

gavin leaned down and kissed mike’s neck repeatedly, breathing in his strange scent.
“you smell like a sad, sorry little bitch,” he whispered in mike’s ear, continuing to fuck against him. “are you sorry for the way you turned out?” he asked.

“ah…gavin-“

gavin closed his eyes. he was struck by how sensual and sweet his name sounded on mike’s lying, deceitful tongue. the man hadn’t vocalized his name until that moment. here little mike johnson was, laid out on his own kitchen table, finally experiencing sexual pleasure with another man when his hair had just begun to gray out.

“what is it?” gavin asked.

“i…i’m…” the flicks of gavin’s wrist and his skilled thrusting made it difficult to think straight, and mike could only form vague ideas of what he wanted to say.

“come on, mike,” gavin encouraged, pretending to be annoyed.

“gavin, could you please stop teasing me? i’m not being rude to you,” mike begged pathetically in an outburst of desperation.

“i’m not the only person in the world, mike. you’ve got to be nicer to everyone now,” gavin admonished.

“okay!”

“okay, what?” gavin growled. “WHAT?!” he yelled, pinning mike’s legs back as far as they would go.

“ah-okay-i-i won’t…” he sucked in a big breath of air, his body in such deep need of release. “gavin,” he squealed.

“fucking apologize!”

“i didn’t…i haven’t…” mike babbled on, his legs shaking as gavin forcefully kept them in place.

gavin slapped him across the face with an open hand, though not very harshly. “are you listening to me? say you’re sorry! now!” he demanded and delivered another deserved smack.

“i-i’m-i’m sorry!” mike yelled, his voice breaking.

“there you go,” the governor approved, his lust growing stronger at the apology. he wholeheartedly fucked against mike, once again stroking their lengths together determinedly.

mike whined and moaned over and over, moving his hips with gavin’s. he felt a hint of fear as his orgasm approached, but he was too entangled in pleasure to move away or revoke consent. instead, he snatched gavin’s free wrist and held it in a tight grip, his climax crashing over him only a second later when he found himself mumbling a mantra of apologies as he lost control.

the sight of mike, so flushed with pleasure, his cock spurting cum, was enough to push gavin over the edge. he finished against mike’s cock and the pale skin of his belly, letting out a deep sigh of satisfaction. he looked down at mike, someone who he thought looked like the type of person who would cry after sex, and watched for his expressions. he couldn’t quite decipher what was going on in mike’s head, though, not even when mike sat up and excused himself.

gavin began to put back on his clothes, and by the time he was finished, mike returned all dressed as well. without giving him a chance to say anything, gavin embraced the smaller man, capturing him in a comforting hug. he felt mike’s shoulders relax after a couple of seconds.

before mike knew it, it was all over, and gavin was gone, almost like he was an urban legend or the center of a benadryl-induced dream.

unbeknownst to mike, gavin secretly hoped that the speaker would become addicted to the pleasure and love he’d introduced him to that day, and he really liked the idea of mike contacting him with desperate propositions.

shortly after gavin’s departure, mike laid down in his bed for a nap, which he had never done before. as he was deeply affected by the actions and wisdom of the older man, mike’s eyelids grew heavy with exhaustion. yearning for the strong, capable, affectionate arms of the beautiful green-eyed governor, and for the heat of his kisses, mike johnson drifted to sleep.
