Summary:

Johnny wins tickets to a beach resort through some radio contest and begs Jack to come as his plus-one. Jack, who’s never taken a vacation in his life, agrees because Johnny looks genuinely excited.

Notes:

Note: Hey to anybody reading this! This is actually my first time posting one of my fanfictions on AO3, so don't expect this to be the best fanfic. I was bored one day and decided, "You know what? Instead of using my free time doing something productive, I should lie on my bed and do nothing except write this stupid gay story!"

English also isn't my first language, so sorry if I make any grammatical mistakes but I hope you enjoy my fic! ^^

Chapter 1: The Winning Ticket

Chapter Text

Johnny Bravo lounged on his beat-up couch, feet propped up on the coffee table cluttered with empty protein shake cans and crumpled magazines. The radio blared from the kitchen with some cheesy contest show hosted by a guy with a voice like gravel mixed with enthusiasm. Johnny wasn't really paying attention, he was too busy flexing in the mirror across the room, practicing his signature poses.

"Lookin' good, Johnny boy!" he muttered to himself, striking a dramatic side chest pose. "You're a hunk-a-hunk of burnin' love." He added

The radio host's voice cut through his self-admiration.

"And now folks, it's time for our grand prize giveaway! Two tickets to the ultimate weekend getaway at Sunny Shores Beach Resort. complete with a muscle car show, an all-you-can-eat buffet and prime beachfront views! To win, just be the fifth caller who can name the king of rock n roll!"

Johnny's eyes lit up like fireworks. "Elvis Presley, baby!" he shouted. Lunging for the phone on the wall, he dialed frantically, his massive fingers fumbling the buttons. RING RING RING "Come on... come on!"

"You' are caller number five!" the host exclaimed. "What's the answer, big guy?"

"ELVIS! The King himself!" Johnny bellowed, pumping his fist.

"Correct! What's your name, winner?"

"Johnny Bravo! the man, the myth, the muscle!"

After a quick exchange of details, Johnny hung up, whooping like he'd just bench-pressed a truck. Two tickets to paradise: beaches, chicks, and muscle cars? This was his dream weekend! But there was a catch: it was a plus-one deal. His mama was out of town visiting Aunt Judy and his usual buddies were... well... non-existent. Who could he drag along?

Aha! His mind flashed to Jack. That stoic samurai dude he'd bumped into a few times, once at the dojo where Johnny was trying (and failing) to impress some yoga chicks, again at the local diner where Jack had politely declined Johnny's offer to "teach him how to pick up the ladies." Jack was all serious and honorable with that topknot and sword, like he stepped out of a history book. But hey, opposites attract, right? Johnny thought. And he could use a wingman who wouldn't steal his thunder.

Grinning, Johnny grabbed his keys and headed out to find Jack. He knew the samurai hung out in the park meditating under that big oak tree like some zen master. Sure enough, there he was, sitting cross-legged, eyes closed, breathing steady as a metronome.

"Hey, Jackie-boy!" Johnny called, strutting over with his shades perched on his perfectly coiffed hair. "Whatcha doin', contemplatin' the meaning of life or somethin'?"

Jack's eyes opened slowly. His expression calm but curious. "Johnny. It is... unexpected to see you here. I am seeking inner peace in this chaotic world."

"Yeah, yeah, peace schmeace. Listen up, I got somethin' that'll blow ya socks off!" Johnny plopped down next to him, ignoring the new green stains on his jeans. "I just won two tickets to Sunny Shores Beach Resort! Beaches, muscle cars, the works! And I need a plus-one. And that's YOU, buddy!"

Jack blinked, tilting his head. "A... beach resort? I am not familiar with such places. My journeys have been ones of duty and battle, not leisure."

"Exactly! Ya've been fightin' demons and savin' the world or whatever for like forever. Time to loosen that topknot, man! C'mon, it'll be fun. Sun, sand, no evil overlords. Just you, me, and a weekend of awesome."

Jack hesitated, his brow furrowing. In all his years wandering this strange future, he'd never taken a "vacation." His life was a relentless quest to defeat Aku and return to his time. But Johnny's excitement was infectious, his blue eyes (underneath those sunglasses of his) wide and pleading like a puppy's. There was something genuine beneath the bravado, a spark of friendship that Jack rarely encountered.

"Very well." Jack said finally, a small smile tugging at his lips. "I shall accompany you, Johnny. Perhaps a brief respite will renew my spirit."

"Yes! That's the spirit!" Johnny slapped him on the back, nearly knocking the samurai over. "Pack your bags, Jackie. We're hittin' the road tomorrow!"

As they parted ways, Johnny strutted home with a spring in his step already imagining the adventures ahead. Little did he know, this weekend would be more than just fun in the sun, it would be the start of something utterly unexpected.
