Where are we?

Summary:

My Yumekira and Mariri Kids going back to the past to old St. Dominics and running into their parents.

Notes:

I’m fucking tweaking.

I’ve had this in my mind for a few months, and I was like FUCK IT! If this is shit, then it’s shit. But I tried my best. Also, Mariris kid being named Maria was my idea for the longest time. Arioces, I SWEAR it’s a coincidence.

I referenced something from another fic I like. If you guess it you get a gold star.

Okay I’ll shut up now.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Mio groaned as he was shaken awake, he sighed and rubbed his eyes before opening them.

The room was lit by the sunlight coming from a nearby window, the roof was different from Maria’s room, and as he shifted to look over, it hit him that he wasn’t on an air mattress like he was when he went to sleep. Maybe he was just put in a spare room? He thought to himself before sitting up and locking eyes with his cousin, Maria.

She had a dinosaur plushie held close to her chest, but she looked upset. That’s when Mio really took in the room. This wasn’t Maria’s room, or a spare room, it had two small beds, a big window, a door that most likely led to a closet or bathroom, then a bedside table next to each bed, it was also missing a lot of personality.

The fourteen year old quickly got up and went to the window, his cousin scurrying to be next to him. The view outside showed a small courtyard, people down below in uniforms, which was when Mio noticed that he and Maria were in their own, fit perfectly for them. “Where the hell….” He mumbled out before turning to Maria and hummed, “Don’t worry, I’ll find out where we are and get us back to aunties very quickly, okay?”

Maria stared and then slowly nodded, then raised her free hand and signed, ‘Okay Mio. Can we get something to eat? I’m hungry.’ Mio sighed and nodded, “Yeah, we can get you something, though we might have to be careful, those people down there look older than us. But if anyone says anything, let me handle it, okay?”

Maria nodded and reached her free hand to grab his, which he quickly took and held the ten year old close to his side.

They walked out of the room and Mio looked around the hallway, which was currently empty, which was very good for them. Now he just needed to find Maria something to eat, and to make sure it would be something she would actually enjoy.

~

The cafeteria was packed.

Mio cursed under his breath, why didn’t this university- private school- whatever it was, have any vending machines? Or they were just not on the path they took. Which would just make Mio even more agitated.

“Okay… think Mio, maybe if we’re sneaky enough, we can rush to the kitchen, I can sneak something for Maria and me to eat, and then I’ll find out where the hell we are. Okay, that works, now to just find the-“

“Mawma!”

Mio quickly turned his head to Maria, who was now very happy, looking into the cafeteria. He turned to look over at where she was pointing, and his jaw dropped slightly.

Now, Mio knows what his moms look like, of course he does! But he’s also seen pictures of them when they were younger, and right now, on the other side of the cafeteria, sat Kira and Yumeko. His mom had an annoyed look on her face while his mama was chatting away to-

“M-Mama! Mawma!” Maria yelled out stuttering over her words and he quickly pulled her close and shushed her. “Maria, I know that looks like your Mamas, but it’s not. Or well, your mama, not sure where Aunt Riri is… but it’s not, it seems to be…” He trailed off, looking back up at the long table, which he was now recognizing other people, “…younger them?”

Maria looked up at him and began to tear up, “N-N-Not Mawma?” She mumbled out, and clutched her stuffed animal even closer to her chest. He winced and wiped her face, “No, No, don’t worry, you’ll see Mama soon, okay?”

Marina whimpered softly but nodded. Mio sighed, trying to think of a way to sneak around better, and when he had a small idea and was about to speak, he was cut off again, Maria gasped and giggled, pulling away from Mio and hugging someone passing by, “Mommy!”

Mio cursed and pulled Maria back before looking up at the person who was held. “Shit.” Mio said as he locked eyes with none other than younger Riri Davis, or well, Timurov. They stared at each other for a long moment, the older woman’s eyes were sharp, very different from the soft ones that his aunt always held.

“Yo VP, why’d you-“ A man stopped and looked at the two, who Mio clocked as his Uncle Chad, they didn’t seem him much, now that he had his own wife and kids to deal with, but he was nice. “Woah, what the hell? Aren’t you guys like.. wayyyy too young to be here? She looks eight.” He said, taking one hand out of his pocket and pointing at Maria, who was just smiling up and focused on Riri.

Mio just swallowed and just stared, there was nothing he could come up with, they were too young to lie to them that they were students, definitely not visitors, especially with what Maria squealed out.

Chad opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by a softer voice, “Riri-San, Kira told me to check what the commotion was over here, who are they?” Yumeko said with her usual smile on her face, Riri didn’t answer, which confused Mio, she was talkative, especially when it came to her close family. But another thing Mio noticed was the mask on her face, Aunt Riri never has had that on. Maybe she’s sick? Mio thought to himself, and he put that as the most logical explanation.

Mio then looked over at his Mama, or well, just Yumeko in this scenario. She didn’t look that different, she would tease Kira a lot on how she always looked young. Mio would always giggle at his Moms face in response to that.

He quickly snapped out of it and sighed, “Uhm… I’m Mio, this is my cousin Maria.” The little girl in question was now not just staring at Riri, but making grabby motions at the woman to carry her. Mio pulled her back, earning a small cry from the ten year old, she quickly turned to him and signed quickly, which she usually did when upset, ‘Mio! Stop pulling me away from mama!’

Mio sighed and signed back, ‘No, you see that mask on her face? She might be sick, I don’t need you getting sick while we’re stuck here.’ Maria just huffed and held her T-Rex plushie close, tearing up a bit.

Riri and Yumeko stared, the Japanese girl now crouched down a bit to look at Maria. Chad was gone, now at the student council table, informing Kira on what was going on. Riri looked at Mio before looking at Maria, her sharp eyes widening just a bit at seeing the little girl cry. Her hands twitched behind her back. Something yelling in her to pick the poor girl up, but another yelling at her not to, to keep her image in tact.

Which was why she was thankful for Mary when she walked up, raised a brow and tilted her a bit, “Well damn, Chad wasn’t lying, there are kids here- wait why is this one crying?” Mary, ever the kid lover, picked up the little girl without thinking. Mio froze and reached up like he wanted to take her back but then pulled them back down.

Maria looked at Mary and the tears went away almost instantly. She smiled wide and giggled, laying her head on her Mamas shoulder. “Hehe, M-Mama!”

The older teens heads shot to Maria, a smirk now on Yumeko's face, a confused one on Riri’s face and a very confused one on Marys. “Uhm, kid. I’m not your Mama. Do I look like her though? Cause then that’s a compliment to her.”

Maria shook her head, a smile still on her face. “N-No, you awre Mawma!” She said, not caring about her speech issues, she was with her Mamas, it was okay. Mary looked at Yumeko, then Riri, then Mio, and then back at Maria. Mio sighed and chewed on his lip nervously, people were staring now, all he could hope is that Mary or any of them actually, believed Maria.

“What’s your name?” Mary simply asked, her hand on Maria’s back, absentmindedly rubbing it slightly, and making sure she didn’t drop her stuffed animal. “M-Mawia Wose Davis!” Maria said, giggling a bit more, she was always happy to be with her mamas. Mary tilted her head and hummed, “Same last name…” she mumbled to herself before asking another question, “Who’s your other Mom? Cause I know damn well I’m not getting with a man in the future.”

Yumeko and Maria giggled at that.

Maria looked around and then locked eyes with Riri, turned a bit in Mary’s arms and then made the same grabby motions she made to the woman earlier. “M-Mowmmy!”

Both Riri and Mary’s eyes widened. “Well holy shit.” Mary mumbled out. “Awhhh that’s cute!” Yumeko said, clapping her hands together and turning away from the shocked couple and then looked at Mio, “You said she’s your cousin yes? So, hmm….” She looked at him for a moment, reading him, then smirked, “Has to be on Riri’s side. Didn’t expect Kira as the motherly type though… but I suppose being an adult changes a person.”

Mio just gulped and nodded, “Yeah… that’s my mom.” He said, now picking a his cuticles. He was surprised, they were believing this? “Wait… you’re actually believing this?” He asked out loud, and Yumeko shrugged in response. “Might as well, I think if you were spies one of us would’ve found out by now. Or the snipers would’ve got you.” She said, gesturing to her and Riri, who was now holding Maria, her eyes soft as Mary just looked in thought.

Mio hummed and then raised a brow, “Wait, snipers?” Yumeko nodded, “Yeah… it’s a whole thing, I only found out about it from Mary. Who found out from Riri.”

Mio just nodded slowly and looked around, the other students were not looking anymore, they must’ve been told off by someone. “Now, do I get to know who the lucky person is that has a kid with Kira-San?” Yumeko said, now leaning forward and smirking at Mio.

Mio pointed at her.

“Well damn.”

He nodded. “I was told you and Mom took a long time to actually get together. Though, then you two ended up having me first. Kind of funny if you think about it.” He said, his hands in front of him now, just like how Kira used to do, and still does sometimes when at a meeting. He’s gone to one before. It was fun.

“I’m Mio Akari Jabami. Your son.”

Yumeko hummed and then after a moment, a sly smirk creeped up on her face. “Come on, let’s go Kira!” She said with a smile, grabbing Mio, hugging him first before pulling him across the cafeteria and to the long table up front.

~

Kira screamed into her pillow.

Then quickly sat up and took a deep breath. “So let me get this straight. You’re mine and… Yumekos, son, who was somehow transported here with your cousin Maria, for you think only for today, and now telling me I’m a mother in the future. WITH YUMEKO JABAMI!”

Maui just stared, then nodded. “Yeah mom, it sounds crazy, trust me, I thought I was going crazy too, but I’ve pinched myself 12 times now. This is not a dream.”

Kira just stared and sighed deeply, looking over at the other two, who were currently playing with dinosaur toys that got brought in by Wendy, the only other person they trusted for this whole thing. She sighed, a small smile on her face before looking at Mio and Yumeko again. “Fine. I’ll believe you.”

Yumeko smiled and hugged Kira, who stiffened up, before slowly relaxing. She was going to have to get used to this after all. She even leaned into the girl a bit.

“RAWRRR!”

The three turned to look over at Riri, who now held a dinosaur, and a happy, giggling Maria, who was in Mary’s lap, her dinosaur now eating Riri’s.

“Huh. It’s cute how Riri is a mom. Even after everything that will happen.” Kira said softly, a fond look on her face. Mio nodded, “Yeah, she’s a great mom. Her and Mary both. They deal with Maria’s issues well.”

Yumeko turned a curious head, “Issues?” Mio nodded again, “Yeah, Maria was born with issues with speech, which then affects how she pronounces things and stutters a lot. Which is why everyone knows sign language. She uses it in public spaces, due to the fact that she used to get bullied for it. So now she’s in speech classes and getting homeschooled.”

Kira frowned at that, “Stupid kids. It’s good she has her parents though, and I suppose, us too.” She said softly, and Yumeko laid her chin on Kira’s shoulder. “How about us? Are we good moms?”

Mio smiled wide and nodded, “The best moms I could ask for.” Kira looked away and wiped her face, Yumeko giggled softly, “Awhh, Kira-San~ Are you crying?” She teased, poking the Russians cheek.

Kira swatted her hand away and shook her head, “No, you’re just imagining things Yumeko.” He mumbled out, Yumeko giggled and tackled her on her bed, poking her face again and Kira pushed her away, groaning. “Stop it Jabami!”

Mio chuckled and then jumped a bit at Kira suddenly shooting up, and pointing at him, “Do you have a grandfather?”

Mio raised a brow and slowly shook his head. Kira let out a small cheer and fell back onto the bed, which just happened to position her to be cuddled by Yumeko. Though, she didn’t really fight it.

~

Maria yawned softly and curled against Mary. The three were now in Riri’s dorm after the ten year old expressed her tiredness. She was in one of Riri’s old shirts, now snug under the blankets and being held by Mary, who was being held by Riri.

“Goodnight…I love you Mama, I love you Mommy.” Maria mumbled out, yawning again before fully relaxing against Mary, falling asleep rather quickly.

Mary kissed Maria’s head and sighed, “I can’t believe we have a kid.” Riri nodded and held her two girls close, her mask off and a soft smile on her face. “I hope we’re good in the future. Good for her, and each other..” Riri said softly, which made Mary turn her head, “I heard Mio talking to Yumeko and Kira, labeling us as one of the most amazing parents ever. So I’m taking that win.”

Riri hummed softly and sighed, “That’s good then. I just worry my problems will go to her. Or affect how she grows up, I can bear to mess up my kids life. Mine is terrible, so I want hers to be the best.”

“I get that baby, but we still have years until she’s born, by then you’ll be healing, and everything will be better, for us all. So don’t stress too much about it now, okay?” Mary said, holding Riri’s hand, interlacing their fingers. Riri sighed and nodded, leaning down and kissing Mary softly, “Okay Angel…”

Then, the two lied down, holding each other and their kid close as well. Who would be gone once morning came, and their memories of this gone. Though, as Mary fell asleep, Riri made a promise to herself that would live in her forever.

She would never give up on love, herself, and never let anyone or anything get in the way of her making it out.

Notes:

Awh my babies.

Also, sorry for not really giving Yumekira of their kid an end, it’s late, and I had no idea what to do. He’s fourteen. He’s not sleeping in the same bed as his mom’s.

Note to all my favorite authors. I don’t know how the fuck ya’ll do it. I’m extremely thankful you all do this, and write A LOT. Like jeez.

Uhm. Bye!
