Chapter 1: Half Assed Confession

Chapter Text

The noise of students drowned out the small steps taken by the silver-haired girl walking through the school halls. Her guitar case lightly bounced with each step she took and the small ringed notebook held up in her underarm shifted down her hip slightly as she made it to the entrance of the school building. Originally she stayed after to catch up on some homework, but completely forgot about the choir concert she had in a week. Unfortunately, she ended up staying longer than expected, and now was left to deal with the setting sun as she walked home.

Putting away her friend's forgotten book in her own locker to give tomorrow morning, she shut it with a harsh slap to get it to close properly. Satisfied with the results, she walked out of the building, and just….stood there. For a moment, she allowed herself to enjoy the small fleeting breeze of spring transitioning into summer. Where the moss, the pollen, and humidity of the air slowly became worse than it was, and took a deep breath, recognizing the smell of freshly cut grass from that morning and the water sprinkled on it afterwards. She let out a relieved sigh for the ending of day, and took one step before halting to a harsh screech as she heard someone call out behind her.

“WAIT!” The figure came running at her as she turned to look at it. It was a boy, a bit shorter than her with an over-sized hood engulfing his body stopping just below his crotch. He had gym shorts on with a bruised left knee and a bandaged right knee. Odd. The hoodie was a dark navy blue with the shorts he sported her with black with white lines streaking the sides of it, looking to be made of some sort of polyester-ish material.

No clue, but the boy was panting. She couldn't see his face either considering he was also wearing the hood of the material. The boy had his hands on his knees for a brief moment before jumping up slightly, and taking a small envelope out to present it to the girl with his hands held out, shaking slightly as he bent over a bit bowing just slightly enough for the hoodie to pull back and spot dark blue tufts of short…maybe a buzzed head of some sort.

“Im sorry to bother you like this, but… I really needed to tell you something.”
“Please accept this letter, and read it whenever you’d like,” the boy said. Now this behavior wasn’t unusual, but it wasn’t exactly usual in any of the slightest. But…enough being said, she'd have to find a way to turn him down in a way that wouldn't lead to anything rash.

“Look, I'm sorry, I really am, but… I'm interested in women” Okay…maybe it could have been a bit lighter something like ‘oh sorry, can’t accept ‘cause i already got something going on for me’ or something of the latter. Just before she could explain further, the boy took off his hood and she was presented with a shocked expression on his face. Cute…..what–

“But…B-but i-” here it comes. Some bullshit excuse on how he can turn me straight, or how I just haven’t met the right guy yet. For fucks sake. You’d think people would get the idea by now, but no. They never do. Just then, the boy started doing something extremely… bizarre, or something close to that. The boy abruptly unzipped his hoodie, and beneath was a wrinkled and red stained dress shirt, but before the girl could analyze more of what the hell was going on, the boy grabbed his hoodie harshly and tugged it open.

“I’m a girl! See! I really am!” But what this girl failed to realize was that as she opened her hoodie for the silver-haired girl standing in front of her to prove that she was a woman, she did more than just prove it ...by also ripping open her shirt, buttons audibly popping off. At least two. What was revealed under the dress shirt was a darker hot pink ruffled trim bra that had small ruby doodles littering it. The girl stared in utter shock as the exposed one in front of her had her eyes shut tightly, as if to avoid anything she could, or would say to her.

Like hell any of this shit was avoidable now, even if she was mentally clasping her hands together thanking whatever god out there that managed to let her see such a sight.

“Woah!” She surprised herself with the random outburst of noise. The girl shook her arms trying to convince the other that she really was a woman, and that this was proof. Proof enough would be the areola that managed to slip out from all the flailing around causing the silver-haired girl to look to the side in absolute shock and second-hand embarrassment. She used her left hand to hold it up into her field of vision while using her right to clasp it around her mouth, trying not to laugh in absolute bewilderment. Finally, after managing to calm down, the short haired girl who was too busy panicking to notice how scantily clad she was, let go of her shirt and sweater and loosely put her arms by her side. She opened her eyes to see the other in front of her covering her mouth, but her ears were blood red. If you squinted enough you can make out almost all of the freckles littering her face.
“Are you alright? You look very red.” Was she Alright? Did she not feel the damn breeze kissing her bosom!? Was she losing it, or was this some off course wet dream that needed some low-budget plot to get her in the mood. Eventually feeling the exhaustion of school getting to her, she might as well just be out with it and tell her. “You have a bit of uh…areola peeking out. You might wanna check that out…erm, like, now.”

The girl felt around herself in confusion, running her hands around her body like some blade was going to stick out and stab her. Realizing she damn near stripped infront of the other, she yelped slightly while pulling her shirt back together. She then went into a deep bow, profusely apologized about something incoherent, and left in a hurry. Failing to remember that she dropped the confession letter. Standing there in absolute shock, the wind dragging the letter across the concrete made a rough sound, and took her out of her trance. Bending over to pick it up, Maddox paid no mind to the plastic that fell out the envelope as she opened up the dreaded letter.

“It wouldn't hurt to read it right…?” she sighed out, slightly exasperated about the whole situation. The letter was decorated with a gold and green frame, with white and black accents, along with a small blue flower, looked to be bluebelles, and a small drawing of a bouquet of…tulips? This was just getting weirder with the paper being pitch fricking black and all. The words on the letter were written in bright orange and only consisted of 6 words total. “I want to see you play.”
Huh? Play what…, The Guitar!? So this entire time some freakazoid student lurking in the shadows —probably one of the fangirls that followed her around school— just wanted to see her play her guitar. As if they haven't gotten enough traction by bombarding the band at practice. Finally managing to look away from the shitty ‘once-thought-of-confession-letter-that-is-actually-just-some- half-assed-permission-slip’, she finally looked down at the piece of plastic that dropped earlier. When she picked it up, she was surprised to see it felt thicker than she had thought. It's weird how she wasn't able to see it through the envelope, or even a small mound for that matter. It was just a guitar pick, but when falling earlier she caught a glimpse of yellow and green, so deciding there was nothing to lose she flipped it over and….there it was.
That band logo.

“No fucking way…” Maddox mumbled, voice slightly shaking in absolute astonishment. No way, indeed. No way she just got flashed—albeit heavenly, still—by some rando. No way she got some half assed, again, “permission slip” confession by said rando, and absolutely no fucking way that rando managed to get a custom signed Madri-mati guitar pick.
