Chapter Text
"Go anywhere, away from here. Make sure to hide. Don't come back to this fucked-up country again." You woke from your sleep feeling weak and breathing heavily. You remembered the words of your friend who had helped you escape your country.
"Shit," you silently cursed, looking down. You saw the monsters that wanted to eat you. You were currently up in a giant tree. "Fucking hell, what are those things?" you questioned yourself, staring at three of them gazing up, waiting for you to come down.
You were so exhausted, and your food supply was almost gone. It had been five months since you left your fucked-up country. It had also been five months since you'd seen any people. Not a single one. You had arrived in this place a week ago and were shocked when a giant person or monster appeared in front of you, wanting to eat you.
You were on the run from your country, and now a giant monster wanted to eat you. Just great. You actually didn't know what to do from the start when they suddenly appeared. You tried cutting their legs but were surprised that they could regenerate. You tried different ways to kill them, from severing arms and shooting the heart. Finally bursting the head worked.
"Is there even a city here? With these monsters everywhere, I guess not," you sighed, thinking about what to do next. Your supplies were running out, and you couldn't even hunt here with these monsters everywhere.
You couldn't believe there were creatures like this. They just looked human. Are they actually humans who are cursed?
You glanced at the three monsters below you. Channeling your cryomantic ability into your right hand, you formed massive glacial spears and flicked your wrist. They shot downward like crushing frozen battering rams, smashing each of their head in sprays of frost.
Each time you killed one, you noticed its body evaporated within a minute—and it was quite amusing. You were about to climb down when you spotted some flares in the distance.
"Are they finally some normal people?" you asked yourself, peering closer. You climbed higher for a better view of what was happening in the distance, where those flares had come from. After a few minutes, you saw horses with soldiers heading toward your position.
You sighed in relief. There were actually people here, not just these monsters. You planned to ask them for help, so you waited for them to get closer. While waiting, you noticed some of them soaring through the air like birds, propelled by thin wires. Somehow, those wires shot out to latch onto those monsters, letting them zip in close and slice the napes, which died instantly. So the nape was the weakness? And what were they using to fly around?
You climbed down to your spot from earlier and saw some of them getting closer. You were about to wave when a wary thought hit you: what if they were bad people?
On second thought, you had no choice. You were almost out of food supplies and didn't know where the city was. "Fuck it," you said, waving at the first group of soldiers. There were five of them: up front, a short man with piercing gray eyes and dark hair, flanked by a warm-eyed woman with light ginger hair, a cocky guy mimicking her stance, a calm, tall figure, and a stern one with glasses.
"Hey!" you shouted, and they all looked up at you in shock. The short one's eyes widened briefly before narrowing, the woman gasped with wide-eyed surprise, while the other three froze, staring up at you in the tree.

"Who are you?" the short guy demanded, pointing a blade at you. They were now up in the tree, circling you warily. They all eyed you with caution, especially the short one—a compact figure with sharp gray eyes, dark undercut hair, and a deadly aura.
"I'm Y/N. Can you help me get to your city?" you asked them. The guy with undercut hair kept his blade pointed at you. You were backed against a tree. There was literally no way out.
"Captain Levi, what are we gonna do with her?" the woman asked, her voice tense as she gripped her blade tighter. So the name of the man who asked you was Levi.
"How did you get here, and why are you still alive with Titans everywhere?" You got confused by his question. So the name of these monsters is Titans. Wait, are you supposed to die then?
"Levi! What's happening up there?" Your eyes shifted to the tall blond with blue eyes watching from below.
"Tch. Come with me, and don't try anything funny before I slit your throat," Levi said. He suddenly grabbed you and flew below to where the tall blond was.
"Who is this?" the tall blond asked Levi. "She said her name is Y/N. We saw her up on the tree," Levi answered curtly. The blond's blue eyes narrowed suspiciously, while the others exchanged wary glances.
"Let's interrogate her later. Mission comes first. Levi, guard her," the tall blond commanded before leaving. "Hey, resume the mission without me," Levi told his squad, and they all nodded before leaving. You are alone now with him.
"Oi, where did you come from?" he asked while looking at you. Your heart raced under his piercing gaze.
"North," you answered, feeling him eye you from bottom to top. What's with this man's gaze? "So there are actually other humans besides us outside, huh?" Levi's eyes narrowed skeptically.
"Huh? You guys didn't know there are other humans?" You asked confusedly, but he didn't answer. He just gave you that strange look, like you had asked the stupidest question ever. What's wrong with this guy?
A minute of silence and you both hear a loud footsteps coming to your way. You look at your left side and saw a titan running to your way, it's fast. What the hell is that? Why is it so fast?
"An Abnormal," you look at Levi and saw him draw both blades, then fly toward the Titan so fast. He sliced its nape mid-leap with dual spinning blades, severing the neck in one fluid motion before landing cleanly. What a guy.
