Sky so Blue

Summary:

This is a first chapter to a little book i started writing. This most likely is just going to be his continued but if yall like it enough maybe I'll undiscontinue it lol

A world in which they all live underground, told that the surface is a forbidden paradise that feeds lies. Those lucky enough get trained and sent up there every once in a while, while still believing that it's no good. The main character, Lucille, or Lu, gets sent up there one day and sees the good, sees animals, sees people other than her underground home, and most importantly, she see how blue the sky really is.

I'll add tags if it gets continued, if not this will sit collecting dust loll

Work Text:

Chapter 1: The Down and the Up

The institution. The world. The universe. Damn it all. They all turn their back on you. They always will.
"Hey Lu? You alive, you look like you're about to murder someone," My bunk mate, Clover, grins at me, I look up at her,
"Nah, just being dramatic in my head," I grin back, "eh maybe not to dramatic, I'm just annoyed we haven't got out own rooms, I thought The Training was over and I'm tired of staying in this room with 50 other people," I laugh,
"That's reasonable, I want my own room too," she chuckles, "Hey, we have some training this evening, don't we?"
"Yeah, I think we do. Some fighting training for when we go up,"
"What do you think is Up Lu?" Up. That was the question, what was Up? Down here, it was dark, damp, cold, and the list could go on forever. As young children, we were told that Up was deserted and 'morally incorrect', whatever that meant. we were also told that at some point Up was a so-called "paradise." Filled with animals and plants that aren't artificially made. I think for a second, then respond to Clover,
"Im.. I'm not sure, Clover. Up could be heaven or hell. For all we know, there could be nothing. It could all be bullshit," I say softly. She nods in understanding, and she gets ready to say something, then the intercom cuts her off,
"Any new trainees make your way to the training barracks and wait for further instructions on your training for today," the intercom goes to static before stopping leaving the normally loud trainee dorm room, quiet. Everyone quickly changes into the training uniforms, black and gray body's suits, sometimes with extra little patterns or designs. I pull my short firey hair into a small half up ponytail as we leave the room heading to the barracks.
