First Time for Everything

Summary:

Sue is in a hotel room. Reed is in a hotel room. They have three hours until anyone shows up or expects them to be anywhere. As scientists, it's inevitable they experiment a little.

Notes:

I wrote half of this on an airplane in a fugue state and the other half when I was able to channel the fugue state again.

I played around with backstory in this, based partially on vibes and partially on the comics. Main thing to know is that Reed and Sue met when Sue started getting her PhD and they became friends and later dated. Reed still ends up staying at the boarding house Mary Storm runs but they were getting close before that. I have an absurd amount of F4 fanfic in a scrivener file don't at me.

Thanks to HoneySkull and Psyche_Angel for the beta on this!

Work Text:

The hotel room had blue walls and cheap, generic decor, but it might as well have been heaven. Sue groaned as she took off her heels and flopped onto the bed. The room was small, barely big enough for a desk, two queen-sized beds, and two people’s worth of luggage, but at least Sue only had to share it with one other person. The numbers worked out as they usually did in STEM, so Sue got some privacy as opposed to Reed, who was sharing a room the same size with three others. Reed had been in a different event, same timeslot, and then walked out only to run into Obadiah fucking Stane from Stark Industries. Sue would rather meditatively chew rusty tacks than be stuck in a conversation with the man for five minutes, and she’d found Reed zoning out into a fifteen minute pitch about some new and improved way to kill a whole lot of innocent people and maybe also an incidental terrorist or two.

Sue leaned against Reed’s shoulder. “Glad that’s over.” It almost made up for having to wake up at 4am to organize the fifteen different teams giving genetics talks today. There had been some impressive work done, but the drudgery of events was like a lead weight.

They’d then demolished a catered lunch that was actually pretty damn good and had to sit through two hours of minor awards before their day was over with. Sue enjoyed it, especially when she got to hand a gold plaque to a team headed by a young woman with cherry glasses frames, but she was finally out of a room with some of the most insufferable men in the world and in a room with one of her favorites.

“Mm.” Reed leaned back against the headboard. “When’s Helen coming back?”

“I don’t think until seven?” Sue yawned. “She has to sit through prejudging, and then she said she wanted to see if there was a decent Korean restaurant around for dinner at about seven. That gives us about three hours before we have to do anything.”

Reed turned on the TV. It took Sue fifteen minutes to notice they were watching Jeopardy and Reed wasn’t guessing any of the answers. She glanced over to Reed. His hands were folded against his middle, and he was paying an unusual amount of attention to the TV.

“Reed,” said Sue.

“Yes?”

Sue watched a contestant completely blank on a question Reed could have answered in his sleep. Reed didn’t so much as twitch. “Is everything okay?”

“Yes.” Reed’s voice was a little squeaky.

“You’re sure?”

“I’m fine.”

“If you say so.” Sue sighed and stood up. “I’m going to change into something more comfortable. Be right back.” She took a skirt and sweater into the bathroom and let the problem work in the back of her mind while she peeled off her stockings. One leg had a run, but it was too small to justify tossing out the pair. Sue dabbed some clear nail polish on it and tried to calculate the pros and cons of buying some in a better quality than the cheap ones at the drugstore that got runs after two uses. She only wore stockings to events like this, but she was going to more of them than she used to. Maybe Janet knew good brands?

She put the clear nail polish back in her toiletries bag. The brown paper bag Aunt Mary passed her before she left fell over in such a way that Sue had to pull it out to put the polish back. Out of curiosity, she checked inside the bag.

It was full of individually wrapped condoms.

Sue looked up, stared at her own reflection, and looked back down in the bag to make sure she hadn’t hallucinated.

Nope. Condoms.

She nearly tossed the bag across the room, face going red as a beet.

Condoms! That wasn’t something Sue expected Aunt Mary to ever—- Well. She had to admit, Aunt Mary had gotten up to a lot in her day. Still, it wasn’t the sort of thing women expected their aunts to hand them before they went on a school trip. There were a few colors in there, like there were different sizes.

Good thing Reed didn’t see, or he might have spontaneously combusted.

Sue closed the bag and sighed, a moment of relief before realization hit her like a speeding semi. She and Reed were in a hotel room together, guaranteed to be alone for the next several hours. She looked back down at the bag. Suddenly, Reed’s behavior made sense. Assuming he’d noticed, but Sue didn’t put it past him. He was shy, which was normally more cute than frustrating.

Sue took a quick shower without wetting her hair, toweled off, and got dressed in the skirt and sweater. Nothing under them. Her face felt like it was so hot it might melt off. She shoved the bag in her skirt pocket and refreshed her makeup, dabbing on more gloss than normal. Hopefully, if she was reading things wrong, Reed wouldn’t notice. As a last-minute thing, she dabbed perfume on her wrists and neck, and then again in her cleavage.

“Every hypothesis needs to be tested.” She left the bathroom and padded back to the bed.

Reed’s eyelids were drifting shut, head dipping down. Errant curls worked their way free of his professional hairstyle, tamed with some kind of gel that made his dark hair glossier than normal. Sue paused in the doorway to watch. A fond smile crept onto her lips.

Reed’s head dipped, then jerked. He sat up and blinked, then looked over at her. “Sorry.”

“It’s fine.” Sue slid into bed next to him. She was more careful with her skirt than she usually was. Reed’s eyes tracked the movement, but he didn’t question it. “Who’s winning?”

Reed looked over. The TV was on an ad break. “I wasn’t paying attention.”

“You seem tired.” Sue picked her words carefully. “Do you want to go and nap?”

“I…” Reed’s eyes flicked over. He ducked his head. “I’d rather spend this time with you.”

“You’re sweet.” She pecked him on the cheek, leaving behind a lipstick mark. The cool pink stood out brightly against his warm-toned skin.

Reed immediately put his hand to the mark to check for lipstick. “Why do you like doing that so much?”

“You look good covered in kiss marks.” Sue paused for dramatic effect. “Especially mine.”

Reed’s face darkened. The noise he made could only be described as a squeak.

Sue was probably a bad person for enjoying his reaction as much as she did.

“I’m, er, I’m glad you think so?” Reed’s blush was slowly growing darker and darker. Sue kissed him again.

“I have a surprise for you,” she whispered.

“Mm?” Reed blinked. “Really? What?”

Moment of truth. “Pull away or say something if you want to stop.” Sue took Reed’s hand and put it under her sweater. She tried not to think about how hot her own face was, or how nervous she was that he’d snatch his hand away because she’d misread the situation entirely and—

Sue put Reed’s hand on her breast. She saw the exact moment he realized what was happening, because his eyes went as wide as dinner plates.

“Uh,” Reed said eloquently.

“We’re going to be alone for the next few hours.” Sue swallowed. “No interruptions, nobody expecting us to be somewhere, no rush. I want to do this.”

“Do what?”

Sue stared at him.

Reed smacked his face into the palm of his other hand. “Why did I—”

“Reed, if you don’t want to do this—”

“I do!” Reed’s face was bright red. “I just— I don’t know what to do.”

Sue’s lips parted in an ‘o’.

“It’s…” Reed started to stammer. Sue took a deep breath and pushed him back onto the bed. He ‘eeped’ as he fell flat onto the comforter, and stilled as she crawled onto him and straddled his lap. Before she lost her nerve, she took Reed’s other hand and put it on her hip under the skirt so he could feel she wasn’t wearing panties.

“It’s okay,” said Sue. “I can handle it for you, if you want.” She was sure she sounded ridiculous.

Reed made a noise like he was choking to death.

“Reed?”

Reed didn’t respond.

“Reed?” Sue frowned. Worry gripped her. She started to move off him. “Are you okay?”

Reed grabbed her by the hip. Not forcefully, but enough to stop her. Sue stilled.

He squeezed a little, long fingers pressing into soft flesh. He opened his mouth, then closed it and sighed loudly.

Sue goggled at him. “Wait, are you nonverbal right now?”

Reed buried his face in his hands.

“Too much?”

Reed nodded.

Sue sat back and bit her lip. “Do you want me to stop?” Now she genuinely did feel bad.

Reed shook his head emphatically.

“Oh.” Sue blushed. “I. Uh. Here.” She pulled the condom sack out of her pocket and passed it to Reed. He looked inside and snorted.

“What?”

Reed looked at her knowingly. Sue considered whether or not it was worth explaining the circumstances to him.

“Someone gave them to me.” Her face went hot. “I didn’t plan this—“

Reed leaned up and kissed her. Sue kissed him back, pressing him into the mattress. She cupped his face to kiss him, rubbing her thumb along his thumb and resting her palm where she could feel his Adam’s apple bob.

Reed slipped his tongue into her mouth and his hands under her sweater. He gently pulled it up as they kissed. It wasn’t particularly cold in the room, but Sue shivered nonetheless. She pulled away to take off her top and tossed it onto a nearby chair.

Reed propped himself up on his elbows and watched. His face was smeared with her lipstick, kiss marks and smears alike, and his lips were swollen from kissing.

I want to eat him up. Sue licked her lips and unbuttoned Reed’s dress shirt. He had a tight, white t-shirt underneath. Sue looked him in the eye and grinned as she put a hand underneath it and slowly pushed it up, making sure to feel her way up his body as she did so.

Reed squirmed under her gaze as she got the shirt up and over his pecs, brushing against a nipple in the process, and bunched it all up under his chin. Reed was skinny more than anything. His belly was soft with no six-pack in sight. He kept in shape, but he was no supermodel, not like the men Janet had listed in her contacts as “the boys from work”. His tan face was dark with blush, and his warm, brown eyes flicked from her hands to her breasts to her face with an expression that looked like awe.

“Still with me?” Sue’s voice came out as a purr that sounded more seductive than intended.

Reed nodded frantically.

“Good,” said Sue. She pulled away, swinging over to the edge of the bed so she could take the skirt off and safely store it so it wouldn’t end up covered in fluids.

Being completely naked was odd. She’d done this before, but was either been at night and in the dark, or tucked away in a corner somewhere. Never in a hotel room, never not rushed. She was half tempted to turn the light off.

Sue turned back to Reed. He was fumbling with his pants, usually steady hands shaky. His shirt and undershirt were still on. He had an obvious tent in his boxers, and one of the condoms with a lime-green wrapper was sitting next to him. Sue leaned over and traced her fingers along the dip of his spine. Reed jumped.

“Reed.” Sue put a hand on his back. “Are you still sure?”

He nodded.

“Any idea how the talking’s coming?”

Reed shrugged.

Sue leaned back and grimaced. She knew Reed was fully home when he was like this, so to speak, but considering the circumstances… “I don’t want to go all the way unless you can tell me to stop.” She paused. “Do you need me to do anything?”

Reed shook his head.

“Just need time?”

Reed nodded.

Sue waited. She wasn’t sure how long it was before Reed hummed to himself and sighed, slumping his forehead against hers. “I’m sorry.”

“I’m sorry,” said Sue.

“I liked it,” said Reed. “It was just…” He cleared his throat. “I liked it a little too much.”

He was so rueful Sue couldn’t help but giggle.

“Do you still want to do this?”

“I really, really do.” Reed reached out and pulled her into his lap, kissing her across the bridge of the nose.

Sue kissed him back, shuffling around so she straddled his lap. He smelled like cologne, just faintly.

“I should finish undressing—”

“Actually…” Sue pushed him back down onto the bed. “I have an idea.”

Reed grinned nervously. “Promising.”

Sue got him to scoot back until his head bonked against the headboard. She grabbed him by the shirt collar, pinning him back with one hand while she freed his erection with the other.

“Uh!” Reed stared up at her. “I thought we— I mean. Don’t I need to—?”

Sue made a show of licking her free hand, twisting the other hand’s fingers into the thin cotton of Reed’s t-shirt. “Later.”

Reed wheezed. “Oh boy.”

“Grab the sheets.” Sue wrapped her hand around his erection, stroking from top to bottom in one swift motion.

”Sue—!” Reed gasped, hips bucking up into the touch, long fingers twisting up into the sheets.

“Shhhh.” Sue pressed a kiss to his forehead, stroking evenly and slowly. “Easy.”

Reed scrunched his eyes shut and whimpered. “This isn’t— hah— what about you?”

“We’ll get to that,” said Sue, gently. “I’ve been thinking about this for a while.”

“Mm?” Reed’s brow furrowed.

“Mm-hm.” Sue tightened her grip just enough to make him squirm. He shuddered, breath gushing out of his mouth.  “Reed?”

“Mm-hm?”

“Look at me, okay?”

Reed whined and forced his eyes open. They were glazed over and bright.

Sue smiled down at him. “When I first saw you in a suit, I wanted to grab you by your shirt collar and fuck you right there.” She kept her hand slow, using her thumb to gently brush away a drop of precum. “So I want you looking just like this, and I’m going to get to see what your face looks like when you’re cumming while I’ve got pinned down like a good boy. Got it?”

Reed’s eyes shot open. “Uh—”

“It’s a simple yes or no, sweetie.”

“Y-yes—”

Sue stroked down hard and fast, twisting her wrist.

“—AH!” Reed’s hips bucked up so fast Sue nearly lost her balance.

“Good.” Sue pressed a kiss to his face. “You’re doing so well.”

Reed whimpered and gripped the sheets so tightly his knuckles went white.

Sue did her best to draw it out, mostly to enjoy the view. She was used to seeing what Reed looked like when he’s thoughtful, or lost in thought, or even embarrassed, but this is all and none of the above. His hair was coming loose of the product, dark curls falling against his forehead as he arches his back to thrust into her hand. Sue let him so she could focus on teasing the noises out of him. Sue wanted to see if she could get away with riding him later, but she could try that another time. She had no real intention of stopping unless Reed asked her to.

“O-oh.” Reed squeezed his eyes shut and turned his head to the side, panting open-mouthed. “Sue, Sue I’m—”

“You’re what?” Sue leaned over to whisper and nibble on his ear.

Reed jerked at the touch like he was being electrocuted. “Close!”

“Okay.” Sue pressed a kiss to the soft part of his throat. She could feel his pulse under his lips. “You want to come for me?”

Reed whimpered and nodded.

“Ah.” Sue squeezed down, licking the shell of his ear. “You have to look at me when you do it.”

“Sue—”

“You can do it.” Sue blew gently on him, sending goosebumps across his neck and down his shoulders. “For me?”

Reed opened his eyes like his lids were made of lead and looked over at her. They were half-lidded and desperate. A thrill of arousal burst through Sue. She was definitely a bad person for this, but she didn’t care. One, two, three quick strokes and Reed started to shout. Sue kissed him hard to muffle the sound, stroking hard and fast. She could feel him spurting all over her hand, making her grip even sloppier and wetter. Reed grabbed onto her, nails digging in and scraping against her skin hard enough to make her hiss. He held on tight, kissing her back like he was drowning and she was air. She didn’t stop until he collapsed into her shoulder, shaking like he’d run a marathon.

Sue grimaced and looked around for tissues. She found them easily, but the only wastebasket was in the bathroom. She set him back onto the bed, wiped his belly and her hand down, then tossed the used tissues and washed her hands. When she came back, Reed had an arm draped across his eyes. His breathing had calmed a little, but his legs shook.

“How do you feel?”

“I think…” Reed mumbled. “I think I can’t think.”

Sue laughed and climbed back into bed.

Reed lifted his arm just enough to look at her, then lowered it back down. “Did you really want to—?”

“Do that since the first time I saw you in a suit?” Sue nodded. “I was thinking about it when I tied the tie.”

“Oh, wow.” Reed pushed himself up and took off his extremely rumpled clothes. “I don’t know what we’re going to do now.” He still made sure to drape his dress clothes over the chair.

Sue blinked. “What?”

“I don’t…” Reed coughed. “I mean. I’m not… I didn’t…” He groaned and buried his face in one hand. “I didn’t even touch you.”

“Right.” Well, he’d done some touching, but not in the sense he clearly meant.

“And I can’t…” Reed gestured down with his other hand. “Not after that.” His ears turned red.

“Oh, well.” Sue sighed. She’d have to actually get him inside her some other time. Her thighs were sticky, and she was uncomfortably wet. Of course, after a sight like that, who could blame her?

Sue was considering what to do next when she caught Reed’s eyes flicking to her and away, a flustered blush building back up on his cheeks.

Sue arched a brow. “Reed?”

Reed looked away. “Well…”

Sue rolled her eyes. “If I don’t like it, I’ll tell you.”

“That’s true.” Reed nodded to himself. “I was thinking…” He swallowed. “I could eat… I mean I could… I could use my mouth?”

Sue’s eyebrows shot up. “Really?”

“If you don’t—”

“No.” Sue shivered a little. “That sounds… good.”

Reed’s eyes darted back and forth. “Any advice?”

Sue had to think. “Hold your breath?”

Reed blinked. “Makes sense.”

“And you can use your hands,” said Sue. “I think.”

“You think?”

“I’ve never actually had anyone do this to me.”

Reed’s eyes widened. “Oh!”

Sue didn’t know why this made her blush worse than anything else had.

Reed looked at Sue like he looked at a whiteboard with an equation on it. It was annoying to picture, because it was incredibly accurate and also far too hot for the comparison. He was focused on her, brow knit slightly as he gave her his full attention. Sue shivered.

Reed leaned forward and kissed her gently on the lips. Sue kissed him back, reaching up to run her hands though his hair. Reed kissed her face, her lips, her cheeks, her forehead, then moved down to nose under her jaw, pressing kisses there too.

Sue giggled when he brushed against a ticklish spot. Reed’s touches were gentle, but he slowly and surely moved down, pressing kisses into the hollow of her throat, on and between her breasts, even on her belly, which made her shiver and squeak. By the time his hands were on her thighs, cheek resting against them, Sue felt like she was about five seconds from flipping him over and riding his face.

“Tease,” she breathed.

Reed’s face was red. He pressed a kiss to the inside of her thigh and used his fingers to spread her open. Sue shivered from the temperature change and the action.

Reed Richards was never one to half-ass anything. He dove in, licking at her with more enthusiasm than skill. Sue squeaked, hips jumping. She expected it to feel something line fingering, but it’s really not. Reed uses his fingers a bit, but he mostly uses his lips and tongue, soft and—

Jesus, not supple, she’s not writing bad romance novels.

It felt different from fingers, especially when Reed uses the front of his tongue and she could feel the soft rasp of texture right up against her clit.

“O-ohh.”

Reed pulled away. “Good?”

“Don’t stop!” Sue grimaced at her volume. “Sorry—”

“It’s fine.” Reed pressed a kiss into the soft part of her thigh. “And this?”

“Yeah,” said Sue. “I like the kisses.”

Reed smiled. “I like kissing you.”

Sue’s face went redder than when he offered to eat her out.

Reed dove back in.

“Oh God,” Sue hissed. Every reaction she had, no matter how tiny it was, he noticed and catalogued instantly.

Reed pulled away, licking at her inner lips and outer labia, then went back just when she feels like her head might stop spinning. He hummed, vibrations racing through her, making her gasp.

Sue groaned and bit down on the inside of her hand, clenching down at the soft vibration.

Reed hummed louder this time, pushing forward.

Sue reached down with her other hand and tangled her fingers in his curls, pushing him in further. Her every inhale made a high-pitched gasp despite her attempt to stifle her moans with her hand. She shook from the effort of trying not to collapse, desperately wanting to watch Reed work her over. Reed used fingers to pull her hood back and dragged the flat of his tongue up, moving slow and lazy.

Sue choked and cursed, tears springing to her eyes. “You asshol—”

Reed sucked at her hard, slipping a finger into her. Sue slapped her hand back over her mouth to muffle her scream. The world narrowed down to her and Reed, just them in this room, and all he was focused on was her.

Sue thinks she shouts Reed’s name when she orgasms, but it was hard to tell through the deathbite she had on her own fist. She fell back into the bed, arching her back, ever muscle tensing in release. Reed keeps eating her out until she’s so sensitive she flails and nearly kicks him.

Reed pulled back gasping for air. His hair was a mess, product thoroughly defeated by her fingers, and the lower half of his face is soaked. He grimaced and wiped it away.

“Sticky,” he mumbles.

“Go and take a shower,” Sue breathed. She’s impressed by her ability to speak from ten feet into the mattress.

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah. You go, then I go, then we air the room out and cuddle.” She flapped a hand at him.

Reed went. A second later, the shower turned on. Sue took a few minutes to lay there until she felt like her limbs aren’t made of rubber, then sat up and rolled over. By some miracle, there weren’t suspicious wet spots on the sheets. Sue huffs. Next time, she’d have to grab a towel to put down. There was definitely going to be a next time if she has anything to say about it.

“What towel do I use?” Reed’s voice echoed from the other room.

“Fresh one. Housekeeping gave us an extra.”

She showered as soon as he left the bathroom. When she came back in, Reed was curled up underneath the covers, shoulders and chest bare. The window was open enough to air the room out, and the cool air was just added motivation to get under the covers with Reed.

Sue stifled a yawn. “Sorry.”

“It’s alright.” Reed stifled his own yawn. “We have a little while, still?”

Sue nodded. “I could use a nap.”

“Mm.” Reed moved to get up.

Sue grabbed him by his arm and pulled him back in. “With you, silly. Like I said, I want to cuddle.” She pulled him close to her, more insistent than she usually is. Reed curled around her, burying his face into her hair.

Sue yawned and let her head fall into the pillows, pinning Reed’s arm under her neck. She was nearly asleep when Reed spoke.

“Sue.”

Sue turned back around. Reed had his chin cupped in one hand, watching her. His eyes crinkled around the edges, and he grinned at her.

“What?” Sue crossed her arms, staring off to the side, face getting hot.

“You’re beautiful.”

Sue laughed helplessly and swatted at him. “Sap!”

“I love you.” Reed pulled her in and kissed the back of her jaw. “I love you so much.” He smelled of aftershave and the lingering traces of hair product.

Part of Sue wanted to say it was just the afterglow. The rest of her smacked that part with a broom. “I love you too.”

Sue woke up to arms wrapped around her waist and a knock on the door. Somehow, Reed had curled up around her so his face was pressed into her shoulder blades and his knees brushed against the back of hers.

“Sue?” Helen’s voice was followed by another knock. “Are you in here?”

“Yeah!” Sue gently shook Reed’s arm so he’d wake up and let go of her. “Just a second. Sorry.”

“Is that Helen?” whispered Reed.

“Yeah.” Sue finally extricated herself from his arms. “I’ll see what she wants.”

Sue tugged on her nightgown and opened the door. Helen was still in her skirt and blazer, makeup a little worn after a full day of conferences.

“Have a nice nap?”

“Mm?” asked Sue. “Yeah.” She yawned. “Sorry. What is it?”

“Do you and Reed want to eat?” asked Helen. “We’re going out to dinner. Dr. Epting spent the past half hour trying to find somewhere reasonably close to the hotel.”

“Sure. Can I get dressed first?”

“Of course,” said Helen. “Reed? Are you coming too?”

Sue was so stunned she forgot to be embarrassed. Then she remembered, and wished a black hole would open up under her feet.

“And I know you’re in there,” added Helen, too casual. “Don’t insult us and waste time by pretending you aren’t.”

There was a long silence.

Reed cleared his throat. “I’m a little hungry. Is there a dress code?”

“Clothing,” Helen deadpanned.

Sue buried her face in her hands.

Helen patted her on the arm. “It’s alright.”

“Does everyone know?” It came out as a whine.

“Everyone suspected as soon as we realized you two went back to the hotel together.” Helen’s voice strained like she was trying not to laugh.

Sue’s ears felt like they were on fire.

“You two are cute,” said Helen. “I’ll be in the lobby. Let me know when Reed’s out so I can change out of these heels.”
