Work Text:

The rain was a relentless, drumming a cold rhythm on Seongje’s umbrella as he hurried down the slick sidewalk. He was halfway home, thinking only of dry socks and a warm dinner, when he heard it.

A sound, sharp and desperate, slicing through the downpour’s static. It came from the mouth of a narrow, trash-strewn alley.

Meow.

The sound came again, weaker this time. With a sigh, Seongje turned into the alley.

He found the source under a sagging, waterlogged cardboard box that had once housed a refrigerator. Crouched in a pathetic puddle was a tiny, utterly drenched black cat. Its fur was plastered to its bony frame, and its eyes, wide and grey, blazed with a feral mixture of terror and defiance. It saw Seongje and opened its mouth, unleashing another ragged, threatening yowl that ended in a shiver.

“Okay, okay,” Seongje murmured, his voice soft. “You’re drowning out here.”

He slowly crouched, ignoring the cold seep of water into his shoes. As he reached out, the kitten exploded into motion. It was a whirlwind of needle claws and baby teeth, a hissing, spitting knot of fury. It latched onto his offered hand, biting and scratching with surprising force before scrambling back, soaked and shuddering, against the brick wall.

Seongje stared at the bright welts and beads of blood welling on his skin. He should leave. This was clearly a wild thing, not a lost pet. But the kitten shuddered again, a full-body tremor of cold and exhaustion, and its defiant yowl cracked into a pitiful squeak.

Decision made. Using his jacket as a makeshift net, he moved quickly, bundling the squirming, screeching ball of wet fury against his chest. It was like holding a frantic, soaked hornet’s nest. All the way to his apartment, the kitten struggled, emitting a continuous, low, guttural growl—a sound of pure, undiluted hatred.

The apartment was warm and dry. Seongje, bleeding from several fresh scratches, placed the soot-black kitten in the center of his bathroom floor with a towel and a small dish of tuna. He retreated to the doorway to watch.

The kitten didn’t eat. It just sat, a tiny, dripping statue of outrage, and growled. Not a purr, not a meow. A deep, warning grrr-oww that vibrated from its tiny chest. It felt like a promise of violence.

Against all logic, Seongje decided to keep him.

He named him in his mind: Gray. It matched with the color of his eyes, so it was enough for him. The outward negotiations, however, were less poetic. After another attempt to gently dry him resulted in a bloody palm, Seongje’s patience finally snapped. He stood over the hunched, growling form by the now-full food bowl.

“Listen,” Seongje said, his voice flat with frustration. “You don’t want help. You don’t want kindness. Fine. You win. But as long as you act like this,” he gestured at his own scratched arms, “you don’t get a name. You’re just… the cat. You understand? Just the cat.”

Gray paused his growling to fix Seongje with a look of supreme contempt, as if the human’s very attempt at communication was an insult. Then he went back to his hostile, silent meal.

That began their war. Seongje bought all the right things: a plush bed (ignored), a rainbow of jingling, feathery toys (batted under the couch with disdain), premium food (eaten with grudging obligation). He took Gray to the vet, a harrowing journey involving a carrier that shook like a possessed box and a vet tech who emerged looking shell-shocked. “He’s healthy,” she’d said, handing the carrier back like a live grenade. “Just… spirited.”

Spirited was one word for it. Gray’s hatred was a constant, humming force in the apartment. He claimed a dark corner under the bookshelf as his sovereign territory. A passing ankle was a target. An outstretched hand was an act of war, met with immediate, surgical strikes—a lightning-fast paw, a warning snap of teeth. Seongje’s arms and hands became a canvas of fine, red lines.

Seongje adapted.

He spoke in calm, low murmurs—“Looks like rain again,” or “I’m home, you menace”—with no expectation of reply. He provided food, water, a clean litter box, and a safe, warm space. He loved him, this furious little storm cloud he’d brought in from the rain. It was a hopeless, one-sided love, and he accepted it.

Then, one night deep into winter, something shifted. Seongje woke from a dream, sensing a new weight on the bed. He lay perfectly still. At the far edge, just on the corner of the comforter, was a compact, black shape, curled into a tight, round loaf. Gray was facing away, a silhouette against the city-light bleeding through the blinds. He wasn’t purring. He was just… there.

Seongje didn’t breathe for a full minute. It wasn’t affection. It was a relocation to the warmest spot in the apartment. But it was something.

This became the new routine.

Every night, once the lights were off and Seongje was settled, a small, silent shadow would leap onto the bed and occupy its distant post. The truce, however, did not extend to daylight or to touch. One morning, moved by the sight of Gray napping peacefully in a sunbeam, Seongje slowly extended a single finger to brush the luxurious-looking black fur.

The result was instantaneous.

A yowl, a blur of motion, and a stinging, three-clawed rake across his knuckles. The message was received, once and for all: I tolerate you. I use your home and your warmth. But we are not friends. Do not cross the line.

So Seongje finally, truly, let him be. He admired Gray from a distance: the precise twitch of his ears while bird-watching, the fastidious way he drank only from a dripping tap, the ridiculous concentration he gave to watching a dust mote float in the air. Their life together became a quiet, parallel existence. Two solitary creatures sharing four walls, with silent agreement to stay on their respective sides.

Then it came the shift.

It was so subtle that, at first, Seongje thought he was imagining it.

He came home one evening, damp from a drizzle, and performed his usual ritual. He toed off his shoes, hung his keys, and offered a quiet, “Hey, you,” in the direction of the bookshelf’s dark shadow.

For months, the response had been either utter silence or the slow blink of his eyes before they disappeared. Today, however, the shadow detached itself. Gray emerged with his usual air of feline dignity, but instead of veering toward the kitchen or the window, he walked—with deliberate, unhurried steps—directly toward the couch where Seongje had just collapsed. He stopped a foot away, sat, and began meticulously washing a front paw, as if this monumental act of proximity was the most mundane thing in the world.

Seongje held his breath. He didn’t move a muscle, afraid the slightest twitch would shatter the moment. After ten minutes of silent, stunned co-existence, Gray stood, stretched, and sauntered away as if nothing had happened.

But it became a pattern. Every evening, Gray would now approach. He’d sit beside the couch, or eventually, after a week, leap onto the opposite end of it, a careful three feet of cushion between them. He never looked at Seongje, but his presence was a heavy, warm, and purring… offering.

The tension in the apartment thawed, replaced by a breathless, hopeful suspense. Seongje kept his hands to himself, his heart pounding a frantic rhythm against his ribs during these quiet sessions. The war was over, but the treaty’s terms were still being written.

Then, one lazy Sunday afternoon, with rain pattering against the window and a documentary murmuring on the TV, Seongje finally broke. Gray was curled in his now-customary spot, a perfect black circle, eyes slitted in contentment. Slowly, so slowly it felt like time had thickened, Seongje extended a single, trembling finger.

He braced for the hiss, the slash, the recoil.

His fingertip made contact with the sleek fur between Gray’s ears.

The cat went utterly still. Seongje’s blood ran cold. Mistake, mistake, mistake—

And then, Gray’s entire body seemed to liquefy. He pushed his head up into the touch, a deep, thunderous purr erupting from his chest—a sound Seongje had never heard before. It vibrated through Seongje’s finger, up his arm, and straight into his stunned heart. He dared to curl his whole hand, to gently scratch behind a velvety black ear. Gray rolled onto his side, presenting his belly and meowed. A real, soft, chirping meow.

Surprised was not enough to describe how Seongje felt. He spent the next hour in a state of delirious, gentle petting, mapping the soft fur, learning the spots that made Gray’s purr louder. The cat butted his head against Seongje’s hand, nuzzled his wrist, and filled the quiet room with a symphony of contentment.

That night, when Seongje went to bed, his heart felt impossibly light. He settled under the covers, smiling into the dark. A moment later, the familiar dip in the mattress came. But instead of the distant corner, Gray walked right up the length of the bed, turned in a small circle, and settled directly against Seongje’s side, a warm, purring weight pressed against his ribs. Seongje carefully rested a hand on the soft back, feeling the rumble against his palm. He fell asleep with that smile still on his face, thinking, he finally cares.

‧˚ ִֶָ☾.

He woke gradually, to the first grey light of dawn and an unusual warmth. The purring was still there, but it was… different. Deeper, with a resonant hum. And the weight against his side was heavier, more substantial. Not a compact ball, but a long, lean line of warmth.

Seongje blinked his eyes open, his mind still fogged with sleep and the remnants of his happy dream.

It wasn’t a cat curled against him.

It was a guy.

A guy with a shock of soft black hair, from which protruded two very real, very fuzzy black cat ears, twitching slightly in sleep. A sleek, black tail was curled loosely over the man’s own hip and across Seongje’s thigh. He was pressed flush against Seongje’s side, face buried in the crook of Seongje’s neck, one arm thrown possessively across his chest. And he was, Seongje’s sleep-numbed brain registered with delayed, static shock, completely naked.

Seongje’s entire body went rigid. He stopped breathing. His brain short-circuited, tried to reboot, and failed. This was not happening. This was a dream. A very, very detailed and bizarre dream. He had died in his sleep, smothered by a suddenly giant cat, and this was some strange, heavenly antechamber. There was no other logical explanation.

He must have made a small, choked sound, because the purring stuttered. The cat-eared guy nuzzled closer, his nose cold against Seongje’s pulse point. He let out a sleepy, contented sigh that was almost a mew, and his arm tightened its hold.

Seongje lay paralyzed, staring at the ceiling, the warm, living, very human shaped weight of his formerly feral cat anchoring him to a reality that had just shattered into a thousand impossible pieces.

Ain’t no way, his mind repeated, a faint, hysterical echo. Ain’t no way in hell this is happening to me.

Seongje’s paralysis didn't last, it shattered into pure panic. A sound, something between a gasp and a yelp, tore from his throat as he tried to jerk backward. The movement was futile. The arm slung across his chest tightened instantly, a band of solid warmth and unexpected strength.

What are you doing?”

The voice was sleep roughened, and it vibrated against Seongje’s shoulder. It was a human voice, but it carried the same faint whine that had always lived in Gray’s most demanding yowls.

Seongje’s head snapped to the side. He was met with a pair of eyes, and those were unmistakable Gray's. Even if they looked darker now, even if they were no longer slitted feline pupils, but round, human irises—the intensity, the wild, unblinking focus, was exactly the same. They were Gray’s eyes.

“Who… who are you?” Seongje choked out, his own voice thin with shock.

A flicker of something like annoyance crossed the his face. The black ears atop his head flattened slightly. “You know who,” he muttered, his grip tightening as Seongje tried to subtly shift away. “Now stop moving. You’re warm.”

But Seongje’s brain was screaming. Not a cat. A person. A naked, cat-eared person in my bed. Adrenaline surged, overriding the stunned disbelief. With a desperate heave, he broke free of the hold, scrambling backward until his shoulders hit the headboard, the blankets tangling around his legs.

The reaction was immediate. The cat-boy let out a whiny noise and surged forward on his hands and knees, trying to grab Seongje’s arm. He moved with a predatory grace that was utterly inhuman. A low, pleading purr rumbled from his chest.

“Stay away!” Seongje commanded, holding up a hand, his heart hammering against his ribs.

Gray froze, his hand outstretched. His gray eyes, which had been narrowed in pursuit, went wide and impossibly bright. A sheen of tears glossed them over in an instant. “Come back,” he whined, the sound pitiful and small. “Is cold.”

Seongje stared, his breath coming in short pants. “Of course you're cold! You’re… you’re naked!”

A single tear escaped, tracing a path down Gray’s cheek. His lower lip trembled. “Seongje, please.”

The broken plea in that rough voice, was a direct hit to Seongje’s core, he felt like the back of his kness was kicked and he felt to the floor right there.

“How… how do you know my name?” Seongje whispered, the fight draining out of him, replaced by a tidal wave of bewildered awe.

Seeing his opening, Gray stretched his hand out again, fingers curling tight. This time, Seongje didn’t pull away. He was too stunned, too utterly unraveled. Cool fingers wrapped around his wrist, their touch firm.

With a quiet, triumphant sound, Gray pulled. It wasn’t a harsh tug, but a steady, insistent draw back toward the center of the bed, back into the warmth of the blankets. Seongje went, limbs loose with shock.

The moment he was within reach, Gray pounced. He didn’t just settle back down; he practically climbed onto Seongje, rearranging them with efficient, determined movements. He slotted himself against Seongje’s side, leg thrown over Seongje’s thighs, face pressed back into the hollow of his neck. One arm snaked around Seongje’s waist, holding him in a vise-like hug, while the other hand fisted in the fabric of Seongje’s sleep shirt.

And then the purring started again. Louder now, a deep, resonant thrum that Seongje could feel in his very bones. It was a vibration of pure, uncomplicated contentment.

Seongje lay stiff as a board, staring at the ceiling, his mind a whirling void. He could feel the soft brush of the cat tail against his leg, the twitch of the furry ears near his chin. The body clinging to him was undeniably human in shape, warm and solid, but the behavior…

This was Gray. His feral, hateful, but recently affectionate little black cat. Who was now a naked, crying, purring, clingy cat-boy in his bed.

“Okay,” Seongje breathed out to the empty room, his voice trembling. “Okay. This is… this is happening.” He slowly, hesitantly, brought a hand up. It hovered for a moment in the air before he let it come to rest, not on a furry back, but on the messy black hair between those two alert ears. He gave a tentative stroke.

The purring kicked up another notch, becoming a roar of satisfaction in the quiet dawn. Gray nuzzled harder against his neck, a soft, happy sigh ghosting over Seongje’s skin.

Seongje closed his eyes. Heaven, hell, or some bizarre pocket of reality in between—wherever he was, he was clearly trapped. And, a traitorous part of his brain whispered as the initial panic receded, the purring was kind of nice.

Seongje lay frozen for what felt like an eternity, his mind a whirlpool of shock, confusion, and a bizarre, dawning acceptance. The rhythmic purr against his neck was a tangible, living anchor in this impossible situation. Eventually, the adrenaline crash and the sheer, warm weight of the being clinging to him lulled him into a shallow, uneasy sleep.

‧˚ ִֶָ☾.

When he woke again, the grey dawn had brightened to a pale morning. The purring had softened into the quiet, even breaths of deep sleep. Carefully, millimeter by millimeter, Seongje extracted himself from the clinging limbs. Gray made a soft, distressed sound in his sleep, his brow furrowing, his hands flexing as if searching for the lost warmth. Seongje, on pure instinct, grabbed a spare pillow and gently tucked it into the cat-boy’s arms. Gray immediately curled around it, nuzzling the fabric, and settled back into sleep with a sigh.

Seongje practically fled to the bathroom. The shower was a blur of hot water and frantic, circular thoughts. Cat. Boy. Naked. Ears. Tail. Gray. Work. I have to go to work. How do I go to work? What do I do with him?

He crept back into the bedroom, hoping against hope to find an empty bed, or perhaps a small black cat sprawled in the sun. What he found instead was a heart wrenching sight.

Gray was sitting up in bed, the blankets pooled around his waist. He wasn’t weeping dramatically; his face was a composed, beautiful mask, but tears tracked silently down his cheeks in two steady streams. His eyes fixed on the empty space where Seongje had slept, held a depth of sorrow that punched the air from Seongje’s lungs. His tail lay still, a stark black line against the white sheets, and his ears were not flattened in anger, but drooped in a posture of profound, quiet devastation. This wasn’t the confused panic of a lost animal. This was the grief of someone who understood abandonment all too well.

“Gray?” The name fell from Seongje’s lips before he could stop it.

Those luminous eyes snapped to him. The sorrow didn’t vanish, but it was joined by a flicker of complex, human relief, and then a flash of something sharper—embarrassment, perhaps, at being caught in such a vulnerable state. He swiftly wiped his cheeks with the back of his hand, his gaze dropping.

“You were gone,” he stated, his voice low and rough from sleep, but clear.

“I was getting ready for work,” Seongje explained, his own voice gentle. “I have to go.”

Gray’s eyes flicked over Seongje’s clothes, and he gave a single, slow nod. The understanding was there—but understanding didn’t mitigate the feeling. His fingers plucked restlessly at the duvet.

“You will come back, right? Like always?” he asked, his tone attempting formality but undermined by the slight tremor in it.

The question, so ordinary and yet so bizarre coming from this cat-eared being, grounded Seongje slightly. “Yes. 7 PM. Just like always.”

Gray nodded again, his jaw tight. He was trying so hard to be stoic, to accept this normal pattern, but his entire being radiated distress. He understood that he needed to go—he had seen him go multiple times as a cat—but right now, the only thing he wanted was to have Seongje close.

Seongje approached the bed, the instinct to comfort overwhelming the last dregs of shock. He sat on the edge. "It's just like any other normal day. I'll be back sooner than you think.”

Gray searched his face, looking for lies. Finding none, some of the tension left his shoulders. He didn't launch himself at Seongje, but he leaned subtly into his space, a silent plea for connection.

"You can't stay like that, though," Seongje said, grasping for practicality. He went to his dresser and pulled out a soft hoodie and a pair of drawstring sweatpants. “Here. You should wear these. For... for warmth, and just... it's better."

Gray took the clothes. His movements clumsy as he handled them with awareness, inspecting the hoodie, finding the neckline, and understanding the mechanics of the sweatpants' drawstring. The clothes were too big. The hoodie hung off his shoulders, the sweatpants pooling around his ankles.

"Better?" Seongje asked, his throat oddly tight.

“I think so," Gray replied, his voice quiet. Then, his composure fissured. He took one step forward and pressed his forehead against Seongje's sternum—not a nuzzle, but a grounding press, as if steadying himself. "Don't be late," he murmured into the crisp dress shirt.

It wasn't a normal request. It was an emotional one from someone who had chosen to trust him, and was now laid bare by that choice.

Seongje’s hand rose. His fingers brushed through the messy black hair, finding the base of one soft, warm ear. A quieter, more vulnerable purr rumbled to life against his chest.

"I won't," Seongje promised, the words a vow.

He left the apartment. The click of the lock echoed with the weight of a sealed pact. His mind wasn't racing with cosmic questions of how. It was filled with the image of silent tears on a striking face, and the absolute, non-negotiable knowledge that he had to be home by 7:00 PM. Not for a cat. For Gray, who was, against all logic of the universe, waiting for him.

‧˚ ִֶָ☾.

Seongje’s key turned in the lock at 6:57 PM, his heart doing an unfamiliar, nervous flutter. He pushed the door open, the familiar scent of home greeting him, but the scene that greeted his eyes was anything but.

The living room was bathed in the soft, shifting glow of the television, where some colorful anime movie was playing. And curled on the couch, nestled in the cushions, was a familiar guy with cat ears. The cat was holding a small tub of vanilla ice cream between his hands, diligently licking the surface with precise, careful laps. An empty spoon sat on the coffee table.

Seongje froze in the doorway, not sure how to react, if he was honest he had wished to find nothing but his cat when he came home that night, he hoped it had all been just a hallucination. But it seems everything was real.

The cat’s head swiveled towards him. He blinked at him, a smile appearing on his face as soon as he saw him by the door.

“You’re early,” Sieun stated, as if this were a perfectly normal homecoming. His voice was less rough now, clearer.

“You’re… eating my ice cream,” Seongje managed, toeing off his shoes, the domestic absurdity anchoring him.

“It was in the cold place. It’s good.” Sieun took another deliberate spoonful. “The movie is also good.”

Seongje hung up his jacket, feeling like he was the one out of place. He moved to the couch, sitting on the opposite end, giving Sieun space. They sat in silence for a few minutes, watching the cartoon heroes battle on screen, the only sound the soft clink of Sieun’s spoon against the carton.

“Are you hungry?” Seongje finally asked. “For real food, I mean.”

Sieun considered this, then nodded softly.

Dinner was a quiet, surreal affair. Seongje reheated some leftover stew. Sieun sat at the small kitchen table, watching Seongje’s every move with intense focus. When Seongje handed him a pair of chopsticks, Sieun took them with familiarity but fumbled slightly, his grip awkward. After watching a piece of potato slip for the third time, Seongje reached over.

“Here, like this,” he said softly, adjusting Sieun’s fingers on the sticks. His touch was careful, avoiding the sensitive looking ears. Sieun went very still, allowing the correction, then tried again. This time, he successfully brought a piece of carrot to his mouth. A look of quiet triumph flashed in his eyes.

As they ate, the questions Seongje had suppressed all day began to bubble up. “So… what are you?” he asked, keeping his tone neutral, not accusatory.

Sieun finished his mouthful before answering. “What do you mean?”

“A cat? A person? Both?”

“Both. Neither. It’s just… what I am.” He seemed to search for words. “I can shift. Most of the time, I can control it. I choose the form that suits the best. ” He poked at a piece of meat. “But sometimes, control is… difficult. It depends.”

“On what?”

A faint, rosy blush crept up Sieun’s neck, staining the pale skin. He pressed his thighs together under the table, his tail giving an agitated little flick against the chair leg. “On… biological needs. Or strong emotions. When I am very tired, or… other things.” He clearly didn’t want to elaborate, his ears tilting back slightly in embarrassment.

Seongje decided not to press that particular line of inquiry. He focused on the practical. “And the alley? The rain? Were you… stuck?”

Sieun nodded, looking down at his bowl. “The cold. And the hunger. It weakens the control. I was… trapped. As you saw.” He glanced up, his gaze sharp. “You picked up a feral, scratching thing. Why?”

The question was blunt. Seongje thought of the tiny, drenched shadow spitting fury. “You looked like you needed help. Even if you didn’t want it.”

Sieun absorbed this, his expression unreadable. He ate another bite. “You gave me a name,” he stated, changing the subject. “You said many times,.when you thought I couldn’t hear you. Gray.”

Seongje felt his own face grow warm. “You heard that?”

“I hear everything.” A hint of that old feline superiority glinted in his eyes. “But it is not my name.”

“I figured,” Seongje said with a soft, choked laugh. “So… do you have one? A real name?”

The cat-boy looked at him, his eyes careful.

“Sieun,” he said, and it sounded like a gift, a secret finally shared. “My name is Sieun.”

Sieun,” Seongje repeated, testing the shape of it on his tongue. It suited him. It felt right.

Sieun gave a small, almost imperceptible nod, as if a crucial transaction was complete.

The rest of the evening passed in a haze of strange, easy quiet. Sieun asked questions about the movie, about the functions of various objects in the apartment, his curiosity sharp and intelligent. Seongje answered, the normalcy of explanation soothing his frayed nerves. There was no more crying, no desperate clinging. Just two persons sharing space.

When Seongje finally stood and went to bed, Sieun didn’t hesitate. He simply stood as well, padded after him to the bedroom, and watched as Seongje changed into his sleep clothes.

As he stood by the bed, waiting with an unnerving patience.

When Seongje finally slid under the covers, he held his breath. What were the rules now? Would Sieun take his distant corner?

Sieun moved, he approached Seongje's side with a quiet determination. He lifted the duvet and slid in, taking the space on his side and pressing himself flush against Seongje. He buried his face in the hollow of his neck with a familiarity that stole his breath, one arm curling possessively around Seongje's ribs, his tail coming to rest over his hip.

It was a perfect mirror of that morning. But this time, it was a conscious choice. This was not a sleepy, instinctual seeking of warmth. This was Sieun, fully aware and in his human form, claiming his spot.

Seongje’s entire body went rigid for a second. The initial shock gave way to a wave of overwhelming warmth. He could feel the soft brush of Sieun’s hair against his jaw, the steady rhythm of his breathing, and even his own faint scent on Sieun’s skin.

Slowly, hesitantly, Seongje brought his arm up—he let it rest over Sieun’s, his hand coming to cradle the curve of Sieun’s shoulder. The moment he made contact, the purr started. It wasn't the frantic, desperate rumble from before. It was a deep, steady, contented vibration that seemed to emanate from Sieun's very core, thrumming through Seongje’s chest and lulling his racing heart.

Sieun nuzzled closer, a soft, satisfied sigh ghosting over Seongje’s collarbone. No words were exchanged. None were needed.

Seongje closed his eyes, his cheek resting against the top of Sieun’s head, right between the two velvety ears that twitched occasionally in his sleep. The last of the day’s surreal terror finally bled away, replaced by a profound, startling sense of rightness.

As sleep began to pull him under, Seongje’s last conscious thought was a simple, undeniable truth. Whatever Sieun was, and whatever this was becoming, he never wanted to let him go.

‧˚ ִֶָ☾.

When Seongje woke up, hours later, there was no morning light yet, only the deep, velvety darkness just before dawn. A thin sliver of grey hinted at the window, but the room was still shrouded in shadow. He hadn't been pulled from sleep by a sound, but by a slow movement.

He registered the purring second—a low, steady thrum against his chest where Sieun was tucked. Then, the feel of him. Sieun was clinging, one hand fisted on Seongje's shirt, his face still buried in his neck.

And then, it was the motion.

A slow, deliberate, rhythmic rocking of Sieun's hips, grinding his lower body against Seongje's side.

Seongje froze, every muscle locking. His sleep fogged brain scrambled to process. Biological needs. Sieun’s blush, his pressed-together thighs at the dinner table, the vague explanation. This was what he meant.

He held his breath, trapped. He should move. He should gently extricate himself. But a paralyzing mix of shock and a sharp, undeniable flare of his own physical response held him captive.

Seongje’s own body responded before his mind could catch up, a sharp, aching heat pooling low in his belly, his own cock stiffening against the constraint of his pajama pants. The shock was still there, a cold wire in his veins, but it was being rapidly overwritten by a wave of something else—a fierce curiosity, and a deep, swelling desire.

He needs help.

The thought was clear, cutting through the heat. Slowly, so slowly the movement was almost imperceptible, Seongje shifted his hand. It had been resting on Sieun’s shoulder. Now, he let it slide down. Over the soft fabric of the borrowed hoodie, down the dip of Sieun’s spine, until his palm came to rest on the curve of his ass. He didn’t pull or push. He just held him there, a solid, warm weight in his hand.

Sieun’s purr hitched. The grinding motion stopped. For a terrifying second, there was only the sound of their breathing in the dark. Then, Sieun lifted his head from Seongje’s neck. In the faint grey light, his eyes were wide, pupils blown black with sleep and something else—shame, confusion, a dawning awareness. He’d been caught.

Seongje…” His voice was a ragged whisper, thick with sleep and need.

“It’s okay,” Seongje murmured back, his own voice rough. His thumb began to move, a slow, soothing circle over Sieun’s hip bone through the fabric. “I know. It’s okay.”

He saw the conflict in Sieun’s face—the instinct to flee warring with the overwhelming, aching want. Seongje made the choice for him. Keeping his movements gentle, he applied the slightest pressure, guiding Sieun’s hips back into that slow, rocking rhythm against his side.

“Like this?” he breathed.

A shudder wracked through Sieun’s entire frame. The purr returned, louder now, fractured with a needy whine. He dropped his forehead back to Seongje’s shoulder, his body going pliant, allowing Seongje to guide the pace. It was still through layers of clothing, but the intent was clear.

Seongje’s other hand came down, touching the hardness on Sieun’s pants over the fabric, a high-pitched whine left his mouth and his back arched against him. Seongje tried to focus on the sensations—the heat radiating from Sieun, the tight coil of muscle under his palm, the broken, pleasured sounds muffled against his skin. He could feel Sieun’s pleasure building, the rhythm becoming less controlled, more frantic.

Then, Sieun’s hand—which had been fisted in Seongje’s shirt—slid down. It moved over Seongje’s stomach, until his fingers brushed tentatively against the hard bulge tenting Seongje’s pajama pants.

Sieun went utterly still again. The purring stopped. He lifted his head once more, his gaze darting from Seongje’s face down to where his own hand rested. The confusion was gone, replaced by a sharp, feline curiosity. He’d been so wrapped in his own need, he hadn’t noticed Seongje’s.

“You too?” Sieun asked, his voice laced with wonder.

Seongje could only nod, a flush of heat crawling up his neck. “Yeah. You… affect me.”

The shame seemed to vanish from Sieun, replaced by a focused, determined look. In one fluid motion, he pushed himself up, kneeling on the bed beside Seongje. The pre-dawn light silhouetted him—the messy hair, the alert ears, the intense focus in his eyes. His gaze was locked on Seongje’s groin.

“I want to see,” Sieun stated, his tone leaving no room for argument. It wasn’t a request.

Before Seongje could form a reply, Sieun’s hands were on the waistband of his pants, he hooked his fingers in the fabric and pulled them down, just enough to free Seongje’s erection.

The cool air of the room was a shock against his heated skin. Seongje gasped, his hips lifting involuntarily. He was fully exposed now, hard and aching, for Sieun’s wide-eyed inspection.

Sieun leaned closer, his head tilting. He didn’t touch yet. He just looked. The purr started again, a low, interested rumble. Then, slowly, he extended his tongue.

It was like a cat’s lick. Seongje would have laughed if it wasn't for the feeling of his tongue swiping up the length of his shaft, from base to tip, a slow, wet, deliberate stroke.

Seongje cried out, a choked, ragged sound. The sensation was electric, the slight roughness of Sieun’s tongue, the cool wetness, the clinical curiosity of the action.

Sieun’s eyes flicked up to his face, watching his reaction. A small, pleased smile touched his lips. He did it again. Another long, slow lick, this time focusing on the sensitive head, circling the slit where a bead of pre-cum had gathered.

“Ah—Sieun…” Seongje panted, his hands fisting in the sheets.

Encouraged, Sieun’s approach changed. The curiosity melted into something more purposeful. He opened his mouth, his lips soft and surprisingly cool, and took the head of Seongje’s cock inside.

The heat was instantaneous and devastating. Seongje saw stars. Sieun’s mouth was a wet, tight heaven. But he didn’t move. He just held Seongje there, on his tongue, his grey eyes looking up from under his lashes, learning.

Then, he began to experiment. A soft suck. A flick of his tongue. A gentle scrape of teeth that made Seongje jerk and gasp, Careful…

Sieun released him with a soft, wet pop. “Does it hurt?” he asked, his voice husky.

“No, just sensitive. Your teeth…”

Sieun nodded, filing the information away. He leaned in again, and this time, he took Seongje deeper. His movements were unpracticed, a little awkward, but infused with an eager, focused intensity that was infinitely more arousing than any technique. He bobbed his head, his tongue working constantly, lapping and stroking the underside of Seongje’s shaft as he moved.

The sounds were obscene—wet, sucking noises, Seongje’s broken moans, the constant, happy rumble of Sieun’s purr vibrating through Seongje’s very core. Seongje’s hand found its way back to Sieun’s head, not guiding, just holding, his fingers trembling against the soft hair and the warm, fuzzy base of his ear.

Sieun took more, his throat working, his nose pressed into Seongje’s base. He was learning fast, finding a rhythm, his cheeks hollowing on the upstroke. His tail swished slowly behind him, a banner of his concentration and growing pleasure.

Seongje was unraveling. The coil of heat in his gut was winding tighter, tighter, a pressure building that threatened to shatter him. “Sieun… I’m close… you should…”

But Sieun just redoubled his efforts, a needy whine vibrating around Seongje’s cock. His hands came up to grip Seongje’s hips, holding him in place, demanding. The message was clear.

The orgasm ripped through Seongje without warning. A hot wave of pleasure so intense it almost makes him blackout. He shouted, his body bowing off the bed as he spilled into Sieun’s willing, eager mouth. Sieun’s eyes widened in surprise at the sudden flood, but he didn’t pull away. He swallowed diligently, his throat working, until Seongje was spent, twitching in the aftermath.

Slowly, Sieun released him, sitting back on his heels. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, a look of stunned, sated wonder on his face. His own erection was still painfully obvious, straining against the grey sweatpants.

Seongje, breathing like he’d run a marathon as he sat on the mattress, reached for him. "Your turn," he rasped, his voice wrecked. "Let me…"

His hand trembled as it hovered over Sieun’s hip, the tip of his finger barely brushing against the strained fabric of the sweatpants. Sieun’s gaze was locked on his face, his pupils still blown wide with arousal and something deeper—trust, perhaps, or surrender.

Seongje’s heart raced, the aftermath of his orgasm still coursing through him like a live wire. His skin was sensitive, every brush of fabric sending shivers down his spine. But Sieun was there, looking at him with those intense, feline eyes, and Seongje couldn’t—wouldn’t—look away.

He moved slowly, giving Sieun every chance to pull back if he wanted to. But Sieun didn’t. He just watched, his chest rising and falling with quick, shallow breaths, his hands flexing where they rested on Seongje’s thighs.

Then, Seongje’s fingers curled into the waistband of Sieun’s sweatpants. He tugged them down, just enough to free the hard line of Sieun’s cock from the fabric. The cool air of the room hit Sieun’s wet skin, and he shuddered, a full-body tremor that made Seongje’s breath catch.

Sieun’s hips jerked forward, seeking friction, seeking him. His purr grew louder, more desperate, and his hands came up to grip Seongje’s wrists, not to stop him, but to guide him.

“Please,” he whispered, his voice breaking on the word.

Seongje didn’t need more encouragement than that. He wrapped his hand around Sieun’s length, his own breath stuttering at the heat and hardness of him. Sieun’s hips rolled into his touch, seeking more, always more.

His hand fumbled once, twice, then found a steady rhythm. He stroked Sieun with the same intensity Sieun had shown him, his thumb swiping over the slit at the tip of his cock, spreading the pre-cum that had gathered there. Sieun’s back arched, a soundless gasp leaving his lips.

Seongje leaned in, his free hand cupping the back of Sieun’s neck to hold him steady. He pressed their foreheads together, his breath mingling with Sieun’s as he panted, “Good? Is this good, baby?”

Sieun nodded frantically, his hands gripping at Seongje’s shoulders now, and his tail lashing behind him. His purr was almost a growl, a deep, constant rumble that Seongje felt in his own chest.

He didn’t stop. Couldn’t stop. His hand moved faster, twisting slightly on the upstroke, his thumb pressing harder against the sensitive spot just under the head of Sieun’s cock. He swallowed around nothing as Sieun’s hips snapped up into his hand again and again, chasing the friction.

Then, him rhythm slowed down, his hand stilling around Sieun’s cock. Sieun whined, a high-pitched, needy sound that vibrated through Seongje’s chest. He was close, so close, and the loss of friction made him writhe, his hips jerking up into nothing.

But Seongje had other plans.

“Wait,” he rasped, his voice rough with desire and something else, control. His free hand gripped Sieun’s hip, his fingers digging in as he guided him onto the mattress. “Like this,” he instructed, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Sieun went pliant under his touch, his breath hitching as Seongje manhandled him into position—chest down, hips up, back arched. His tail lashed behind him, but the movement wasn’t panicked or desperate. It was eager, anticipatory.

A moment later, Seongje’s fingers were on him again, spreading him open. He pressed two fingers against Sieun’s rim, the tight furl of muscle giving way under his touch.

“Ah—Seongje—” Sieun’s voice broke, his body tensing, not in resistance, but in readiness.

“Shhh,” Seongje murmured, his own breathing unsteady. He pushed in slowly, careful, until his fingers were knuckle-deep inside Sieun. The warmth was incredible, the heat clenching around his fingers making his own cock twitch where it was trapped in his pants.

He curled his fingers, searching, brushing against Sieun’s prostate in a slow, teasing drag. Sieun’s entire body jerked, his purr stuttering into a broken moan. His hands scrambled for purchase on the sheets, his hips pressing back onto Seongje’s hand.

More,” Sieun panted, his own need overriding any hesitation. Seongje added a third finger, stretching Sieun open further, the glide of his fingers now slick with the natural lube that Sieun’s body produced. He crooked his fingers just right, pressing firmly against Sieun’s prostate.

Sieun shouted, a sound caught between pleasure and surprise. His body bowed under the direct stimulation, his tail lashing wildly behind him, and caressing Seongje's face. His hands clenched in the sheets, but he didn’t try to move away. He pushed back onto Seongje’s hand, fucking himself on his fingers with a desperation that mirrored Seongje’s own.

It wasn’t enough. Seongje knew it wasn’t enough. He pulled his fingers free, ignoring Sieun’s broken whine at the loss. He grabbed Sieun’s hips, yanking him up until he was fully on his knees, his chest pressed further into the mattress, his ass still in the air. Seongje’s own cock was freed from his pants, the length of him heavy and aching as he positioned himself behind Sieun.

He didn’t hesitate. Couldn’t hesitate. He pressed the head of his cock against Sieun’s hole, groaning at the tight, heat that clenched around him. He pushed in slowly, until he was fully sheathed inside Sieun.

Sieun’s whines hitched, his body shuddering around Seongje’s cock.

Seongje bottomed out with a groan, his forehead dropping to the back of Sieun’s shoulder. “Fuck, you're so tight,” he panted, his voice strained. “Do you like this, hmm? Is this what you wanted?”

“Y-yes, Seongje, please,” Sieun whined, as he nodded frantically, his hips pushing back onto Seongje’s cock as if he couldn’t get enough, as if he couldn’t get close enough.

Seongje’s thrusts grew deeper, more insistent, as Sieun’s body clenched around him. The wet, desperate sounds escaping Sieun’s lips were muffled against the mattress, but Seongje could feel the way his hole tightened with every push of his cock. He was lost in it, his own pleasure building to a brutal peak as he drived into Sieun with a fervor that bordered on obsession.

Sieun’s fingers twisted in the sheets, his back arching as if he could press himself closer, take more of Seongje inside him. His moans were ragged, broken by gasps and whines that seemed to spur Seongje on.

Then—with a shuddering cry—Sieun came, his spend spilling hot and wet on the bedsheets as his body bowed under the force of his orgasm.

Seongje didn’t stop right there. His hips snapped forward, driving his cock deeper into Sieun with every thrust, even as Sieun trembled and shook through the aftershocks of his climax.

He waited a moment, and then pulled out of Sieun slowly, the slick sound of his cock leaving Sieun’s clenching hole making both of them shudder. Then, with a firm grip on Sieun’s hips, he guided him onto his lap, the weight of Sieun’s body settling over his aching cock.

“If you want more,” Seongje growled, his voice rough with desire, and leaving no room for hesitation “then show me how much.”

Sieun’s breath hitched, looking at him in the eyes, then his hands came up to grip Seongje’s shoulders for balance as he sank down onto his cock. The stretch was exquisite, the heat of Sieun’s body swallowing him whole again as he began to move. His rhythm was unpracticed, a little awkward, but the intent was clear—Sieun wanted this, wanted him, and Seongje wasn’t about to deny either of them.

He met every roll of Sieun’s hips with a thrust of his own, their bodies moving together in a filthy, desperate grind. Sieun’s whines were a constant rumble, his hands clutching at Seongje as if he couldn’t get close enough.

Seongje’s hands gripped Sieun’s hips, holding him steady as he fucked up into him, the wet slap of their skin meeting filling the room.

They pushed each other higher, harder, neither willing to give an inch. Seongje’s release was ripped from him, his spend spurting hot and thick into the cradle of Sieun’s body as they came together, their pleasure so intertwined it was impossible to tell where one ended and the other began.

For a long moment there was only breathless trembling, the world narrowed to the place where their bodies were joined.

Then, slowly, Seongje pulled out. His cock slick with his own release. The warmth of Sieun’s body clung to him, even as he left him spent and dripping his cum. Sieun’s purr was a broken, contented rumble, his body lax and pliant in Seongje’s arms. He was exhausted, every movement heavy with the weight of their shared pleasure, but there was a undeniable smile plastered on his lips.

Seongje gathered him close, his hands trembling as they smoothed over Sieun’s back. Sieun nuzzled into his neck, his breath warm and steady against Seongje’s skin. The room smelled of sex and sweat, and Seongje couldn’t bring himself to care. Sieun was here, in his arms, and that was all that mattered to him in that moment.

He reached for the blankets, pulling them up to cover them both. Sieun made a soft sound of protest, but Seongje shushed him gently.

“Rest,” he murmured, his voice thick with exhaustion and affection. “I’ve got you.”

Sieun’s purr softened, his body going limp in Seongje’s hold. His tail swished lazily behind him, wrapping on Seongje’s leg.

Seongje pressed a kiss to the top of Sieun’s head, his fingers threading through the soft strands of his hair.

He held Sieun until his breathing evened out, until the tension left his body and he was truly asleep. Only then did Seongje allow himself to drift off, with Sieun’s warmth a constant presence at his side.
