The clock was about to hit 5 pm and the breeze outside in the balcony was already chill, a silent indication that the winter is approaching in country V. The Gao sibilings were just settling into this new apartment with some of unpacking left to do.
It was a modest two bedroom apartment with a minimalist setup but was far better than the one that Gao tu used to be while being in Jiang Hu.
Gao tu was standing by the balcony door staring aimlessly at the now half empty street. Though, he had a calm demeanor, his heart was at war pondering over the incidents that had happened over the last four months, which said to have disrupted his life that he could atleast call as peaceful as when compared to his current scenario. His emotions and pheromones were at complete fluctuation that he could feel a mild pain at the back of his neck . He was out of his inhibitors from the day he got to know that he had been carrying wenlang's baby but that hadn't reduced the impact volume of the inhibitors that he had already fed his system with.
As the temperature was taking a dip and lately the inhibitor abuse has taken a toll on his immune system tu started slowing moving towards his bedroom. There sat a cardboard box that was yet to be unpacked, he had already planned to complete the unpacking by today. Thanks to his secretary job as planning and execution has become a second skin to him. He opened the box and the first thing to welcome him was his photo with wenlang and the lime juice that he had offered before a decade.
The same face that had haunted him for years and the same one he helplessly wants to forget but, he himself knew will never be able to and he will let himself to. A bitter smile crossed his face and he slowly wiped the dust off from it and placed it in the stand close to the hallway .
"Ge, it's time for your pheromone injection sit in the sofa and I will be there in a minute" came Gao qing's voice from the kitchen who was completing her cooking for dinner.
"It's okay A'qing I will take it. Thanks for the reminder though". He started moving towards the medication box set aside the dining table by that time qing was out from the kitchen and got a hold of his forearms and made him face towards her.
" Ge, I known you can manage which I have seen you doing ever since I know but I really want to take care of you so please go to the sofa I will bring the stuff" she got the box from him and made him move towards the sofa.
Many things had changed in this few months but he did never miss to notice the dynamics that has shifted between him and her. The pale looking fragile girl who he had taken care for years had gone and now she has become the sole care taker of him by now. Though, he is grateful that she is finally sound and healthy but he could never forgive himself for dragging her into this mess which he had been completely responsible for. Just a Gao tu thing as always ..
" Ge, I know that you don't wish to hear this again but... why don't you give it a try for any other compatible donor alpha who could ease your pain ? I can't tolerate to see you wince in pain every time after taking this injection." Her voice was full of concern as she knew what his brother would end up saying.
This had been there daily part of their conversation after Gao tu had adamantly ignored to seek an another alpha for the sake of pheromones. His gland would be swollen and nausea was his constant companion as he was acclimatizing to this synthetic pheromones. But he had come to this conclusion only when the doctor confirmed him that the synthetic one not being as effective as the natural one but can give a good needed contribution for the growth of the fetus.
" Qing'er, I have already made it clear about this, I honestly doesnt feel the need to stick onto an alpha when I can make it done with the synthetic one. I will soon overcome this pain just few months of enduring this for our lele." Though his voice was calm all qing could see was his omega brother craving for his alpha's pheromones which in a twisted way was never meant to be his.
All she could do was sigh, as she knew the stubbornness of her brother and his idiocy in love which she doesn't wish to criticize for now. But, she knew she could and would never forgive shen wenlang for wronging her brother.
The dinner was done with a peaceful silence and it was bed time soon as both the sibilings headed towards their respective bedrooms. Gao tu though lay in his bedroom but was shifting uncomfortabley as he heard a door knock from the main door but he was too much sleep dazed that it didn't register in his mind. It was only when he heard a load roar which was probably his sister shouting at someone as she went like..
"Are you really out of your mind to ask my brother to come with you back to Jiang Hu to cure your beloved son who treated my Ge like a shit ...?" Her breath was pacing as she fumed in anger.
"We are grateful for your help but.. but please leave this place before my Ge wakes up."
Gao tu hearing this whole conversation was immediately on his feet but was swaying a bit due to dizziness took a hold of the door knob and opened it after steadying himself only to be welcomed by a surprise.
