Watching Birds Fly

Summary:

Langa had forgotten what feeling were.
He hadn't felt anything after his Father had died.
Now, after Reki had entered his life, he knew.
He would have to keep him forever.

If it was as a boyfriend and later husband, trapped in his basement or his head decorating his shelve. He hadn't decided yet

----------------

Reki had always and interest in people watching, he loved seeing people happy, sad, angry.

People were so fun for him, but after meeting Langa he only had one more person he wanted to watch.
He didn't want to pay attention to anyone else anymore

----------

Or in short: Both Boys are stalking each other without realising.

Chapter 1: Langa

Chapter Text

Ever since my father has passed I didn’t feel single emotion. There was no happiness, love or sadness just a void filling my heart.

I didn’t even enjoy snowboarding like I used to.

Things took a turn once I met him. He was weird in a good sense, I mean.

I couldn’t explain what was about him that made me think, feel.

Consider the possibility of life being something different than just nothingness.

I have not decided what to do with him yet.

There are countless possible solutions to my problems however two of them I am mostly intrigued by.

I could make the decision of keeping my cold heart and for that Reki had to go. Vanish from the face of the Earth.

My second solution would be to keep you close forever and keep him away from anyone else.

If I couldn’t keep him, there would be consequences.

I walked through the streets, looking around at all the people.

And elderly couple arguing, or a young couple hand in hand.

I had my eyes on all their interactions and movements.

Something that has been the case for me even before my father passed, was the incapability of human interaction.

I have been keeping an eye on how people around me, studying them closely.

How they talked, reacted to things.

What emotion correlated to what interaction.

When I arrived home, my mother wasn’t there yet. She had worked a lot more to keep up our lives we used to have with a dual income.

Which gave me enough time to get to work.

I made my way to my room, looking around it.

I picked up one off my Biology books that I had since I was younger.

When I was around six I found a dead squirrel on the side of the road.

My parents later saw me poking it with a stick.

As they had gotten worried for some reason, and asked me what was going on, I expressed an interest in looking at the animal closer.

And I couldn’t do that when it was alive, it would run off.

After that they had gotten me countless books based on anatomy, wild life and more of that kind.

They never figure out that the animal died because of me.

I skipped through the the pages landing on a sketch of a human body. I looked at the red lines I had draw all over it. As if strategically planned out where one could possibly cut.

Little notes next it the lines, what the cut could do to a person.

Research purpose only of course.

I closed up the book again and sat at my desk, Opening my Laptop.

On my Hompage was one folder I opened up.

It was locked with two special password and facial recognition.

Inside this folder was every Idea of mine that was too creative for human comprehension hidden.

Also second account on a messenger my friends and I always used.

In this application Reki is saved as ‘Subject’

In my phone was the open account my friends had always access to, however this one.

This was just for Reki.

Anonymous: Hey there~

Subject: I blocked you like 50 times! How are you still able to contact me

I smiled, while keeping the chat open, I opened up the camera folder. Skipping through the different cameras I had placed.

Not only his house, most places he always went to.

Including hijacking the security cameras from dope sketch. That one was an easy job, just telling Oka that I had to fix the cameras.

Anonymous: Ahh you’re at the skate park?

I watched him turn left and right, trying to figure out where I was.

Anonymous: Don’t stress, you won’t find me.

It was a rare occurrence that I texted him, mostly because I was blocked very fast every time but also because my cover could be blown.

And i wasn’t risking that, no matter how fun it was to toy with him.

Subject: Where the fuck are you??

Subject: Show yourself coward

I just smiled, letting my eyes wander from the camera footage to the text messages.

After a bit of no responding Reki put away his phone and made an attempt to leave.

Anonymous: Where are you going?

He took his phone back out to relpy

Subject: Why are you asking? Aren’t you following me anyway?

Anonymous: Yes but it’s more work for me to figure out where to go.

Subject: A friends house

Despite him not wanting to talk to my pseudo he always took his phone when I texted him.

I leaned back in my chair, carefully observing Reki’s steps.

It was possible that Miya was meant with possible Friend, but he could be referring to my place. Which in that case, I had to hide some stuff.

A notification was ringing on my phone. A message from Reki

Reki: Hey, you got time? I am bored heading to your place

Bingo…

Langa: Yeah, but pls take your time. I gotta clean my room a bit.

This was almost too easy. I closed up my Laptop and put it under my Bed. Afterwards I hid the more suspicious looking books in the back of my bookshelves for no one to find.

Most of any other equipment like cameras and microphones were hidden in the basement, where Reki would never go.

Well, until I have decided if he should be trapped in there.

I heard the doorbell ring a few moments later and hurried my way down opening the door

“Hey, are you okay? You never come by this spontaneous,”

He walked inside and I closed the door behind us. I watched his every move in a way, he would not notice.

“That dumb anonymous person texted me again, I am starting to get really creeped out,”

I looked at him, with what I would assume compassion would look like.

“Ah that sounds awful, have you ever gotten the chance to go to the police?” I asked, as if I hadn’t known the answer.

“No, for one he would probably figure it out and two the cops are useless anyway. I mean, they can’t do something until I am actually getting injured or robbed. Can you believe that?”

He dropped on the couch.

“That’s awful to hear, just try to ignore it. He hasn’t done anything bad so far so maybe it’s nothing to worry about. He’ll get bored after a while.”

Reki sat up and looked at me “What makes you think it’s a guy?”

“huh?”

“You said…He hasn’t done anything and He’ll get bored.”

Dammit, that was a terrible slip up. I had to do something about it.

I went to the kitchen and brewed us some tea. “I mean, it’s often men that are this weird. The likelihood of it being a guy is quiet high. From those statistics I made an assumption,”

He nodded and slowly lied back down “Yeah that makes sense.” He closed his eyes to relax.

“What kind of Tea do you want?” I asked, while turning on the boiler, the loud sound of the water boiling would overshadow the sounds off a small pill being crushed.

“Just something sweet,” Reki answered.

I mixed up the medication, Sulpirid, with some sugar and put it into his cup.

I had to make sure he would forget about the small slip up I did.

I poured in the Tea and made myself a cup too.

Placing the mugs so he would instinctively grab the drugged one.

I was lucky that Sulpirid was a medication I was actually getting prescribed with. In the case that Reki took the wrong cup there wouldn’t be too many issues for me.

I never took any antidepressants or antipsychotics in the normal way.

I was supposed to, and I got them by the pharmacy.

But unless I was putting someone to sleep or getting shit faced, I didn’t feel a need to take them.

Reki drank his Tea and made an uncomfortable face.

“It taste kinda weird,”

“It’s a calming tea, with some hit of malatonin. So it might taste a big medical, but it’s good for you,” I explained

He nodded and continued drinking. I waited for him to finish his mug, also taking a sip ever now I then.

“Yeah, I notice the Melatonin. I am getting really tired…” he mumbled

“It’s okay, just take a nap here. I’ll watch over you.” He lied down, slowly closing his eyes. I carefully placed his head on my lap, stroking his hair with my fingers.

I could feel my emotions returning. Something no medication or therapy appointment has managed. Reki does it, by simply existing.

I leaned back, keeping my hand in Reki’s hair.

It was soft and comfortable, I could have him here, like this, forever.

I moved his headband up and stroked his hair out of his face. “You’re save with me,”

Until I decide otherwise that is.

I sighed in disappointment, having to leave Reki for a moment. I got up to clean the cups,

washing out any signs of my medication.

It was too noticeable, they didn’t resolve completely so at the bottom there was still some residue.

Luckily after some testing and Miyas help I knew that people would get affected by the drugging before finishing the mug.

Miya has become my little helper in the Project of getting Reki all to myself.

He is getting little things from me.

Games, snacks, anything he wanted.

He was also allowed to see Reki once I found a way to isolate him from everyone else. Maybe a visiting window of 2 hours for every month.

I hadn’t worked out the details on that one.

After I had finished cleaning, I sat back onto the couch, put Reki’s head back onto my lap and carefully stroked over his arm.

I would do anything, for him to stay here with me forever.

I had never been in love, but I assumed this must be what it felt like.

My Mother came back home a few moments later, Reki was still passed out and even I hadn’t moved from my position.

“Good evening Langa, oh and Reki. Is he okay?”

“Yeah we were just watching a movie and he fell asleep. I didn’t want to wake him up.” I lied.

She nodded “I’ll make us something to eat. Just make sure to wake him or at least tell his mother where he is so she doesn’t worry,”

I sighed and looked back down at my boy.

“But Mom he is so adorable and peaceful when he is asleep, maybe he needs it,”

She smiled, she knew about my emotional and social problems.

After all, she was the one dragging me to all these doctors in the first place.

I had noticed how she always seemed sort of happy or content when Reki was there.

It was clear that she saw through me, knew that he was the only person that could make me feel.

“Sure but he also needs food and his mother should know he is okay, I’ll text her okay,” She made her way to the kitchen.

I carefully shook Reki, trying to wake him up.

He opened his eyes. Squinting at me, as if the light was bothering him.

“Hey, you fell asleep while we were watching a movie.” I lied, he nodded and sat up.

My lap felt empty without him.

I explained how our mother is making food and his mother knew he was gonna stay here. He seemed out of it, possibly because I had woken him up too early.

I had miscalculated, now I had to be careful not to let anything seems suspicious.

“Are you okay?” I asked, as worried as I could.

“Just dizzy and nauseous, I don’t know why,”

I got up and got him a bucket in case he had to throw up.

I stroked his back, trying to calm him.

“I think Reki should probably head home,”

I looked at my mother,

my anger towards her rose. “Mom he,”

“I’ll drive him, he can’t stay here doing this terribly.” She continued cutting out my protest instantly.

I sighed “See you soon Reki,”

He got up and walked too my mother “see ya,” he mumbled.

I watched them walk out the door, and as the door closed.

I felt empty again.

There was nothing, not even sadness or despair.

Reki left, and he took my heart with him.
