Work Text:
Satya was 8 years old when she was recruited into Vishkar. At that time, there was a different high-ranking executive working there. Now, at the older age of twenty two Symmetra was seeing a new hire come in - one directly going into a higher role than her due to her prior experience, though Satya had a lot of experience herself, she was very loyal to the company. It was possible this woman had pulled some strings to get this position, had some dirt on some higher ups. You'd think that the moment you'd meet her. So Satya's feelings about her were at first contempt. She didn't know her face, just a name she was known by - Domina. Even that showed how big her ego was, how she felt like she dominated everyone else. But as Satya was practicing her hardlight technology in came her... she supposed, new boss. She didn't look up from her work. Didn't even hear the doors slide open.
"Satya Vaswani, isn't it?~"
In a sultry... seductive, voice. The architech's eyes would narrow beneath her visor, and she lost her concentration for a brief, fleeting moment before she regained her composure.
"Boss. That is me." She spoke curtly, Domina found it rather fun testing her focus.
"Oh well I've heard many things of course, a child progidy was it?" She was awfully close. Way too close. Eventhough her composure was back you could tell she was faltering a little.
"W-well. Yes." Satya never broke a sweat. Never found a task so difficult that she would begin to do that, this felt like the first time. Her boss could see it.
"So nervous little Satya." Domina pursed her lips, a hand gracefully tracing the architech's working arm all the way up to the top of her hand. "This is the better technique. I would've thought you'd known that." Symmetra stiffens. She would've felt insulted before, had a need to defend herself. Instead she felt embarrassed, submitting under her touch and letting her do it her way. "Good girl. Now."
Her hand releases her. It lets her breathe out in a slight sigh. "I am sure you're aware I'm in charge now." Satya nods stiffly. Any changes in management at Vishkar was made privy to her immediately. "Excellent. I just wanted to meet... our quote unquote, best architech." She had a sly smile on her glistening lips, enjoying belittling the other, knowing it was what she devoted her life to. And she'd heard of her - Satya Vaswani, the best in her field. Never cracked. Never showed emotion. And here she was, red in the face. "I'll be on my way darling. Keep up the... work." She winked, and with a twirl, she swivelled around, her hair flowing as she took leave. Of course she didn't hear her coming, she was levitating above the ground. Immediately, Sym brought a hand up to cover her mouth, ashamed that she hadn't said much of anything that entire interaction. Before, she told herself she was going to start provoking her, asking her how she got that position before she got it herself. Now... for the first time, she felt intimidated. Powerless. Crushing. Not in the negative way. In the 'Crap, my new boss is super hot' way.
She'd always known she was a lesbian. Seeing pretty women dance was the reason she took that up as a hobby. She'd love to practice her dancing alone and have Domina walk in. She was already thinking up dreamy scenarios, she really was screwed. It was breaktime. Usually, Satya still worked during her break. She ate at all her mealtimes of course but outside of that she never gave herself a break. But she would today. Symmetra types on her Vishkar-issued hologram device, typing up the name 'Niran Pruksamanee', contact labelled as 'The Nuisance'. At this time he was still her roommate. Not yet wanted by every known organisation in the world. Symmetra found it difficult to make friends but she would... reluctantly, consider him one. There's a ringing noise until he picks up, he was clearly touching up his makeup when she called.
"Satya! You never call me."
She smiled bitterly. "I know. But I figure you'd know a thing or two about this." Lifeweaver cocked his head to the side, a little confused, and she would continue, "Have you met the new boss?"
"New boss? We have one?" She scoffed. Of course he didn't know. What a scatter brain.
"Yes, idiot. Domina."
"Like dominatrix?" This caught Satya off guard, a tint of blush coming to her face. "Haha, I've never seen you blush before either. Wait a minute..." Niran smirked knowingly. Sym almost shuts off the call instinctively. "Satyaa... Really? I mean the power imbalance is sexy but..."
"It is not like that. It will never be like that." She mutters, but he knows, he was practically Cupid, he knew when someone had the hots for someone else.
"Who knew you had a beating heart afterall?"
"Be quiet. She was just here." She frantically cranks the volume down on the device.
"Isn't she high up? What if she was stalking this call?"
"Do not even." She hisses, finger hovering over the hang up button.
But she relaxes a little. "How do you... tell if someone likes the same gender? You're... pan... Pangender, is it?"
"Pansexual, Satya. A gaydar is just a natural thing I was born with. I'll have to meet her and see what the big deal is."
"Say a word and I'll have four turrets posted outside our dorm."
