The moment Abraham heard Eugene scream was the moment he ran from the kitchen he was searching to the bedroom Eugene was in. When he got there, he found Eugene backed up against a wall in front of a walker that seemed to be stuck under a shelf.
The two had found an abandoned house earlier that day and decided to take their chances to search the place as they were running low on food and supplies. They figured they'd split up and check each room themselves, despite Eugene’s protests against it.
Eugene’s never had to face a walker alone before and seemed to have found the one room a walker was in, to which he froze in the corner as it growled at him from the floor.
Abraham stood by the doorway of the bedroom, not making any kind of attempt to help as Eugene wasn't in any real kind of danger and it wouldn't be able to reach him if he stayed where he was.
"Would you please stop standing there and give me some assistance?" Eugene spoke in a panic.
Abraham chuckled. "You're fine Eugene. Look at it, as helpless as a pile of shit! You can kill this one easy!”
Eugene shook his head, shaking in the corner. "I'm not capable of doing such right now."
"Oh sure you are! Come on, just stab the fucker in the head!”
Eugene shook his head, backing up further against the corner.
Abraham frowned. Obviously his words weren't enough to convince him to kill it, so he walked over to him and slipped in beside him, the walker desperately trying to get to them.
Abraham grabbed the knife from Eugene’s belt and placed it in Eugene’s hand, holding his hand over Eugene’s.
"Don't think, just do it."
Eugene gulped, looking down at the knife and where Abraham’s hand wrapped around his, then to the walker. The walker’s growls and teeth clattering together filled the room and rattled through Eugene's head.
Abraham retracted his hand and Eugene almost tried to chase it, but instead, with his shaky hand wrapped around the knife, he raised it with hesitation and held it above his head for a second.
‘Don’t think, just do it.’ Abraham’s voice played in the back of his head, which was enough to help him stab the knife down into the walkers head and the foul noise it made when it slid into the walkers skull made Eugene grimace.
The walker fell limp and Eugene pulled the knife back.
"There you go! See? Ain't that bad, is it?"
Eugene steadied his breathing. "I very much disagree with that and never want to have to do that again."
Abraham laughed. “Eh, I think you’ll get the hang of it eventually.”
Abraham then walked toward the door. "Come on, I found a few tins of beans in the kitchen!"
Eugene stood in the room alone now, his eyes remaining on the walker in front of him.
The warmth of Abraham’s hand lingered a little longer than it should have.
