I mean, looking at the case, the most obvious conclusion would be time travel, but I don’t think that sort of technology would be possible in the 40s.

These two siblings, Nico and Bianca. They were born in the 1930s in Venice. Their father/fathers were unknown. When WW2 started, their mom, Maria moved them to Washington DC, where they lived in a hotel for several months. Then Maria was struck by lightning and killed. When an ambulance arrived on the scene, the kids couldn’t be found. Then, in 2011, kids with the exact same names and faces, only a few years older were enrolled in a military boarding school, Westover Hall by a man claiming to be their deceased parents lawyer. The kids would then be kidnapped by the vice principal at a school dance and are still currently missing to this day.

Yes. While it is rare, it’s not entirely out of the possibility for people to have the same names and look similar. You conspiracy theorists need to learn that.
