Work Text:
Birds lazily pecking at the ground
As the sun warms the honeyed fields
Basting rocks and flowing rivers
Booming nature and sound-filled air
The wind passes as the grass yields
All birds depart in a rain of feathers
Cracks coalesce, crows cackle,
Caging skulls of crying doves.
Previous Aves plummet and tremble.
Browning flowers of many woes.
Apollo's orb makes a great return,
But no longer provokes a lasting burn.
The river flows back, proud and gentle,
And so does life, brittle as marble.
