Work Text:
Vampires were violent creatures. They were killers by design, every part of them was optimized to lure and hunt down humans for nourishment.
They didn't receive the blessing of being oblivious and mindless like less intelligent predators. Vampires were, at their core, human, in all of their senses, feelings, thoughts and ideas, they were inherently human.
Was it more cruel to be a conscious predator, forced to kill for the eternity of your lifespan, or the conscious prey, forever living in fear of the undefeatable force in the shadows?
Consciousness itself might be cruel, so long as it exists within a world that demands suffering.
Conscious beings, despite their natural instincts, like to bend nature's design and test the limits of their own free will.
Minho was born to humans, to a good, loving people. Even after he turned, he refrained from biting and instead took to animal blood or isolating himself until he could control himself enough to keep living among them. By the curse of his immortality, he was bound to outlive them, but even past their deaths Minho refused to kill.
He was weaker compared to all the others of his kind. No superhuman speed, or strength, or senses, just his own pathetically soft lavender smell and constant fatigue. He slept for days, trying to make up for the energy he wasn't getting through hunting and feeding.
He was defying his very nature, and this was his punishment.
Minho had no trouble being around humans anymore. After the few short decades of an endless life, he was well adjusted and barely ever experienced bloodlust. Even if, it was less the brutal lust and more of a craving that he could shut down quite easily by himself.
Jisung was different.
He had sworn off human blood just a few weeks after getting with Minho, it was difficult. Jisung was strong, he could throw a grown man across yards, compete with top sprinters and scale walls like it was nothing. His dainty figure was a trap, made solely to appeal to human interest and not at all indicative of his real strength. He reeked of sandal wood, completely burying Minho's lavender under it's prowess.
Jisung was willing to stop hunting, but his body wasn't used to it. It was tortuously hard for him to not give into the urge. He would occasionally fall into a blood-lust haze, tearing up their apartment, seething and getting barking up at everyone, namely Minho, stopping him from going out to kill.
Minho was weaker, he knew that if it came down to it he would never be able to contain Jisung, all of his efforts would be futile. A relapse to killing had never happened though, Jisung held himself back, but most of the time he couldn't, and needed an outlet for all the repressed vitriol brewing inside him.
Blood-lust was just that, lust. Feeding from a fresh, live victim was so much more than eating to stay alive. It was an act of absolute domination, taking control of a weaker, helpless creature, relishing in it's suffering. That was part of the haze, needing a shaking, dying out body beneath one to take from, to control.
Minho was the weaker, helpless creature.
In his haze Jisung would pounce him, bite him, throw him around and kiss him absolutely senseless. Minho had agreed, actually, he had proposed it in the first place, because no matter how much Jisung bit him, sucked his veins dry, or choked him out, he wouldn't die from it. Unlike their human flatmate Felix.
Felix was...peculiar. He figured out quickly that he was living with two of a completely different species, predators meticulously engineered to kill his own kind, but strangely he didn't seem to care that much. He helped them get the animal blood they needed and covered their fake human identities.
Still, it was too dangerous when Jisung was like this, he would never want to bite Felix, but the one time Felix was there for his blood-lust Jisung almost did. If Minho hadn't been there to put himself between them.
To make it easier, Minho and Jisung would just leave and go somewhere isolated. Besides, it wasn't like Felix necessarily wanted to hear his two fanged roommates go at it for hours.
Minho was ready to offer himself up completely, to play the weak part that Jisung naturally yearned to control. That included being hauled around like a ragdoll, getting railed into the next best surface for hours, or being Jisung's personal chew toy.
Vampires were proud creatures, and yet, Minho couldn't bring himself to hate any of what should be soul crushing experiences for a creature wired to strive for dominance.
Minho had dragged his boyfriend out with him, far away into the woods where nobody could hear anything and no humans could possibly distract them. Jisung had been angry all day, he was usually a more quiet, reserved person. When he got confrontational like this it was usually withdrawal.
It was the right call. Jisung was wrestling him around like it was nothing, he was play fighting, if anything. He could tear Minho to shreds if he really wanted to, but hunting was never about killing in the first place.
Minho managed to push him off and slam him against a tree. He ran, but despite his head start Jisung was with him in a blink. He tackled him, but Minho managed to snake out from under him, scramble to his feet and keep running.
This was what Jisung needed, a feeling like a real hunt to stimulate that aching desire. Minho could tell he loved every second. Jisung caught up, grabbed his hair and roughly yanked it back while they were mid sprint. They both crashed with the ground, but this time Jisung had him in his claws.
Minho cried in agony as his lover started chowing down on his arm until he hit bone, breaking his legs in two clean strikes, so Minho would have no choice but to crawl, to accept being wrung into compliance.
Vampires may be immortal, but not immune to pain. Minho felt everything, he screamed and cried and growled back, but he didn't want it to end. At first he thought he was just desensitized to it all, but the truth was worse, he was just a depraved freak, otherwise he couldn't explain to himself why he was just as rock hard as Jisung was.
It was always humbling when Jisung switched from toying with him to what he was actually capable of. Minho could do nothing but whine like a pitiful dog as he felt a strong hand press his neck down into the mud, the other rearranging his body in whatever way it wanted.
It was humbling, there on the forest ground, face in down the mud and ass up high.
Minho didn't know how much time passed, he stopped thinking somewhere between getting scalped while sucking cock and breaking his spine in two while taking it from the back.
Wether it was the pleasure or the pain that made him this hazy didn't matter, he would be content being like this forever, floaty, with no worries in the world but when he would get it again.
It was a drug, and Jisung was ripping his head open by the jaws and shoving it down his esophagus.
The younger vampire could live out all his depraved impulses, things he wouldn't even want do to human victims, but there was no dignity to preserve here, Minho laid off any sense of self-respect by agreeing to this.
The sound tearing skin sounded satisfying to Jisung. He could crawl under Minho's skin, literally, rip him apart and go elbow deep into him. He wasn't warm or pulsing, since wasn't alive, but still soft and gooey inside.
Jisung sighed, pleased with the feeling of something squishy in his palms. Minho weakly protested, but that was about all he could do. In a state like this he reverted to primitive behavior, to a thoughtless creature, a black box, no goals or aspirations of his own, only able to react to what Jisung was giving.
To look into the black box...into his lover's thoughts...Jisung wished he could, but as he smashed Minho's head down on a hard stone, splitting his cranium open and watching his mind gush out, all he saw was brain matter. Now Minho wasn't thinking at all, for a second at least. He snapped back together, jerking alive again and looking up at Jisung with heavy eyes.
It wasn't the first time he died, he's died probably a hundred times by now. The first time when he was turned into a vampire, dragged back from the edge of oblivion and reborn into a filthy creature. Then there was a time when he was shot by a couple of terrified humans, and then the many times Jisung had abused him like this.
They stared at each other. No sane being could justify anything they were doing, it was their dirty little secret, nobody would ever know, not even Felix knew the full extent of it.
Jisung bit through his partner's jugular one last time. He had sucked so much of his blood already he felt bloated...but it was just so good. Minho would always have blood for him, even if didn't give any nutrition or tasted extraordinarily good, it was exhilarating to feed without any repercussions. The extent of the damage he did to Minho was irrelevant, as long as his body wasn't fully destroyed, he could heal, infinitly so.
Jisung had tasted his flesh before, the tender meat of his thighs, raw and straight from the living source. His stomach hadn't taken it well, vampires weren't meant to eat meat and he had barely chewed anything. Despite throwing it up on the way home, he would eat it again, always.
To carry a piece of Minho in himself...inside, while he wore his skin like a suit on the outside... still, that didn't seem close enough. Nothing would ever be close enough, not even if Jisung scraped out all of Minho's bone marrow and replaced it with his own, even if he sucked all his spinal fluid out and planted his own inside. He could never be close enough.
The best way to tell the blood-lust was wearing off was seeing Jisung's eyes slowly regain a sense of compassion, pity even.
He would slow down gradually, start realizing himself and what he was doing. Jisung had never been a sadist, he wasn't cruel, not when his instincts didn't make him be.
"I can never understand why you do this for me." Jisung sighed. He had fully calmed down, but there was still a dull afterglow, and the ache in his stomach of having gorged himself on his partner's blood a little to enthusiastically. "Death...over and over. Pain that would be incomprehensible..."
The river water was cool and the moon reflecting off it's surface. It stirred around them, filling the silence with a calming rush of the stream.
Jisung knew Minho's answer, so he took the words out of his mouth before they could be said. "I know you like it, for some reason."
"I'm a real creature right?" Minho said, exhausted. They had washed everything off, but he still felt sticky. Water ran down his sides, dripping from the tips of his hair. "Getting off on dying while I'm not even alive..."
"How comedic." Jisung grinned at him. "You freak."
"Freak? You bit my fingers off." Minho huffed, though he wasn't really offended. The fingers were probably among the least painful things Jisung had done. The crunch as he gobbled them down was petrifying either way.
"I'm sorry." Jisung's playful expression dropped to actual concern. He was really cute...those big round eyes, the worried crease between his eyebrows...cute.
"Don't apologize. I wanted this as much as you did." The older assured him, rising from the shallow riverbed. They should...look into cleaning up the area. There was blood everywhere, along with some body parts and...secretions.
At least their clothes were still in tact, Minho always made sure to just take everything off, if he didn't he would have scraps of fabric left hanging off of him.
"It'll never not be weird to see this." Minho grimaced, picking up his severed arm. It was already in the process of decaying, within a few hours there would be nothing left of it. Since vampires could regenerate as long as there was something left, excess tissue quickly dissolved itself via an extraordinarily fast decay.
Jisung did a grimace too. He honestly didn't recall pulling hard enough to actual rip his boyfriend's arm off...Jesus Christ...
"Maybe it's time to set some ground rules..." Jisung mumbled. "I bashed your head in...and this is literally your arm, your limb. I'm worried hyung, is nothing too much...?"
"I know it's hard to understand." The older said, tossing the arm into a bush. "I don't even understand it, because it does hurt, it hurts good Sungie..." He admitted.
Jisung frowned a little, tilting his head. "You know it won't be like this forever." He said, watching his boyfriend's face for a reaction. "I'll adapt to fasting humans, like you did. I will be weaker and this lust will stop.. and I can't...I can't be this cruel when I'm sober, I just can't do it." He insisted, shaking his head.
Minho could only smile at that. "I know Sung, you don't need to worry about that." He took his partner's hand, intertwining their fingers. He knew how much Jisung adored holding hands. "I love you, I don't care if you're not gonna be this intense forever. I love this not just because it's extreme, I love it because it's you doing it."
So sweet, but Minho couldn't leave it at that.
"You still fuck good outside of your blood-lust jagi, don't worry about it." Minho smirked, receiving an elbow in the side from Jisung, who despite his scold, played it up.
"I know I do. Otherwise you wouldn't be such a die-hard bottom whore." He smirked back, pushing their faces close. Cheeky he was. They were no strangers to rough talking with each other. Words like whore, bitch and slut used to faze Minho, but he'd grown to like them, only in bed that is.
He gave Jisung a little pat on his ass and shuffled around the leaves a little to make this look less like a bloody crime scene with cum stains and more like an animal had been shot here.
They returned home just before sunrise. It had really been hours...
Upon opening the door they were hit with a waft of cinnamon, the stench was all over the apartment. Had Felix been trying himself with new recipes? He did love baking, but in the middle of the night?
Jisung noticed first, seeing as he bolted towards Felix's room. Under the cinnamon was something else, something undoubtedly vampiric.
The younger vampire damn near ripped the door from its hinges as he rushed to their roommate, who just begrudgingly turned on his light and stared at them with bleary eyes. His long blonde hair was everywhere, obscuring his face and sticking out in about every direction.
At first there was relief. Despite the clear signs that another vampire had been in the house, Felix was still alive. Then, blunt panic.
Jisung gagged, quickly going to the living room to save himself from the sight of the bloody bandage around Felix's neck. Minho could only stare at it, as it was clear to what laid beneath. A gaping bite wound.
