Chapter Text
The music hums, a low pulse from the portable speaker on the polished floor. Lida moves, a loose limbed practice that’s more instinct than routine. Her hips sway, the fabric of her light leggings clinging and shifting with each motion. Harmony pretends to stretch, but her gaze is fixed, a magnetic pull she can’t fight. The way Lida’s body rolls through a simple step, the focused tension in her calves, it’s all a mesmerizing rhythm.
Lida doesn’t turn. But her next movement is different. She drops lower, a fluid grind that arches her back, putting on a show only Harmony is watching. A soft smirk plays on Lida’s lips, unseen. She knows. Of course, she knows. She adds a little extra shimmy, a deliberate bounce, a silent invitation. The air grows warm, heavy. Lida executes a slow, deliberate body roll, glancing over her shoulder. Her eyes meet Harmony’s, dark and sparkling with amusement. She winks, then turns away, laughing quietly to herself as the beat continues its steady thrum.
Lida’s laugh hangs in the air, a final nail in the coffin of Harmony’s composure. Heat floods Harmony’s cheeks, a telltale flush she knows Lida can feel from across the room even without seeing it. The pretense of stretching drops. Her arms fall to her sides. There’s no point in hiding anymore.
“Enjoying the view?” Lida’s voice is a low purr, barely cutting through the music. She doesn't stop moving, her body a fluid question mark in the center of the room.
Instead of answering with words, Harmony stands. She crosses the space between them in three long strides, the floor cool under her feet. Her hands find Lida’s hips, warm and firm, stilling the motion just for a second. Lida leans back into her, glad that Harmony’s making her move.
