Work Text:
It was the afternoon, the wind outside was calm and the hospital was the same as always calm but it was flat and bland of how lifeless it is, like a blank white paper.
Knowing that Asgore had brought some flowers to add some color to Rudy's room, and speaking of Rudy, as soon as Asgore entered, Rudy stopped looking outside and looked at the door and gave a smile.
Rudy: Oh, if it isn't Fluffybuns! Here, take a seat!
Rudy gestured to a chair next to his hospital bed.
Asgore gracefully sat down as he gave the flowers to Rudy.
Rudy: These beauties are for me, Darlin'?
Asgore: Hoho! Of course they are, silly.
Rudy: You know I am married, right? Haw Haw!
Rudy laughed loudly, which made him cough violently.
Asgore: H-Hey, watch out, friend...
Rudy: N-Nah, Fluffybuns, I am fine! Anyway, jokes aside the flowers are nice.
Asgore: Well I just felt that this room was too full of flat colors, I just thought some flowers would make it more colorful.
Rudy: Oh, and you were right, my friend! This hospital is more dead than a funeral!
Asgore: Rudy!
Rudy: What mate? It's a joke... but seriously thanks for the flowers.
Asgore: Oh don't worry! I'm always glad to help an old pal.
Rudy: Speaking of helping an old pal...
Rudy took a breath.
Suddenly the room felt more serious and tense.
Rudy: How is... Noelle... is she ok?
Asgore: Oh, little Noelle? She's an angel, as always. She never changes. Why do you ask?
Rudy: I've been worried sick about her lately... like I can't keep an eye on her, and it doesn't help that she... hell, she just can't say no to save her life!
Rudy looked outside the window with a frown.
Rudy: Especially since she is with that bird freak, I don't like him one bit, always forcing her to do stuff she doesn't want to do.
Rudy looked at Asgore with a serious face.
Rudy: When I'm able to leave this bed, I'm kicking his ass.
Asgore laughed clutching his arms around his belly.
Asgore: Calm down Rudy! Damn, you really hate Berdly THAT much?
Rudy: Yup!
Rudy looked down at himself in that bed.
Rudy: And it doesn't help that Carol doesn't visit... like sure I understand being the mayor isn't easy, but she can't take a minute of her day to say "I love you" or "Morning?", like it pisses me off so much...
Asgore put a hand on Rudy's hand and squeezed it.
Asgore: Hey, it's not your fault... I'm sure that everything will go well, sooner or later you will leave this bed anyway!
Rudy laughed before he coughed again.
Rudy: You are right, Fluffybuns, I am just worried I didn't do enough for Noelle...
Asgore frowned before putting his head on top of Rudy's.
Asgore: Nonsense, Rudy! Nonsense, I assure you, I think Noelle is more than grateful for what you did for her through the years... you and Carol did so much for her... if that is the case, why do you think she visits you so often?
Rudy smiled as he looked down.
Rudy: You are right, mate... thanks, I really needed to hear that.
Asgore smiled as Rudy stared at him before they continued talking.
(The End)
