Work Text:
“We have movement!” Izuku called over comms.
“I see it.” Katsuki’s gruff voice replied.
“We moving in?” Shoto asked.
Currently the three of them are on a mission. There were some reports of an attempt at a human trafficking ring, and as third years, and the big three at UA, Izuku, Shoto, and Katsuki were picked to go out and deal with it. It wasn’t too unusual, the three got sent out on solo missions plenty, and it was certainly a great way to pass the time.
“Colors on?” Izuku asked.
“All good.” He could hear the grin in Katsuki’s voice.
“Whoever gets the least buys dinner.” Shoto said.
After a long moment, looking down, watching movement, Izuku made the call.
“Move in.”
Not even two seconds later did Izuku hear Katsuki’s quirk go off, and he could see Shoto’s ice surge from where he was perched in a tree. Izuku jumped from his own spot, higher on a drop off that wasn’t quite a cliff. His feet hit the glass ceiling, breaking through it, though it cut his momentum for half a second, and he almost lost his footing.
“Flashy entrance, nerd!” Katsuki called, hands raised to block a punch aimed at his face, before he returned it with an, admittedly harsh, kick to the gut.
“It was called for!” Izuku laughed, black whip flaring under his skin.
“There are twenty in total, I have four detained.” Shoto said over comms, “I’m making my way inside now.”
“Five here!” Katsuki replied.
Izuku spun, his gloved hands touching the glass-covered ground as he kicked another person in the jaw, “Three.” Izuku called.
Dusting himself off, Katsuki spoke again, “If they aren’t in your color you can’t count them!”
“They are!” Izuku shot back, tightening the green-colored quirk cancelling cuffs.
“Fire!” Shoto shouted, “Fire user, left exit, heading my way.”
“Need backup?” Katsuki asked, taking cover as a gun echoed through the warehouse.
“No.” Shoto said, “Probably not.” He amended shortly after, and even from where Izuku was crouched he could see Shoto’s ice suddenly surge again, overtaking half the building in the process.
“Watch the ice!” Izuku shot back, back slamming into the box he was hiding behind to get out of range of the ice.
“I can’t see in the building!” Shoto argued.
“Just be careful, Sho.” Izuku sighed.
“Izuku, on me?” Katsuki asked, bringing him back to the situation.
“I haven’t been shot in two months, I’m supposed to go out with Eri tomorrow!” Izuku complained.
“Then don’t get shot again!” Katsuki growled, before he jumped over his box, blasting an explosion to the man holding the gun.
Izuku jumped up at the same time, using black whip, and grabbed the man by his legs and pulled. He fell into the explosion and dropped the gun as he landed on his face.
“Whose point is it?” Izuku asks, as black whip climbs up the man’s body to wrap around his wrists.
“Neither.” Shoto answered.
“Fair enough.” Izuku sighed, Katsuki tightening the cuffs as black whip recedes.
“How many left?”
“Six.” Shoto said.
“Points?”
“I have six.”
“Four.”
“Three still.”
Izuku and Katsuki shared a look before splitting off. Izuku got three more, Shoto didn’t manage to get another, and Katsuki got two. Izuku called in on comms shortly after counting them.
“They’re detained, sensei. I don’t see anyone else here.” Izuku reported in.
“Good work. Police are en route, they should only be ten minutes.” Aizawa answered.
“We’re tied.” Katsuki sighed.
“Seems like it.” Shoto confirmed.
“Right, how are we going to settle this?” Izuku asked, tilting his head.
“Is there any way we do settle it? Last time we had a tie Katsuki just blew up the bill and footed it on his mom.” Shoto sat down on the cement ground.
“We can put it on Endevour?” Katsuki suggested.
“Yes.” Izuku pointed at him, “Thats what we should do.”
“I’m down.” Shoto nods.
“Tomorrow night work?” Katsuki asked, pulling out his phone to look at their linked calender.
“Should.” Izuku hums, sitting next to Shoto.
When the police showed up, they didn’t waste too much time doing a proper search of the premises and getting anything that could be used as evidence, including a few hard drives on some of the guys.
“Thanks for the help tonight, boys.” One of the officers said.
“No problem, it's our job after all.” Izuku waved his hand, knowing Katsuki and Shoto won’t answer politely.
“Have a good night, stay safe out there.”
“Mhm!” Izuku hummed, walking out of the building.
“Dorms?” Katsuki suggested, throwing an arm around Izuku’s shoulder.
“Gross, you two.” Shoto pretended to gag.
“Like you don’t get in four eyes’ face after a mission together.” Katsuki shot back, grinning.
“At least we wait to be alone.” Shoto argued, though he was smiling too.
“Alone on the common room couch, maybe.” Izuku chimed in.
“Izuku! It was one time!” Shoto defended, as the three started walking back.
“One time too many, Shoto.” Izuku replied.
