Chapter Text
Levi, one of Hunters most loyal patients, was bright and early for his appointment today. He wore a nice sweater as it was around 65 degrees outside and some nice black jeans. Nothing too fancy more like he was going to meet up with friends, except this was his doctor. A doctor he saw almost every week for something different, and every time he made up a new excuse. "Oh, I rolled my ankle", "I jammed my ring finger", and many more. He was starting to run out of excuses.
He comes to check in and looks at the receptionist. She already knew that he was here and checked him in before he could even say anything. "Hi I'm-" "Hun, Hunter already knows you're here for something just sit down and he'll call you back", was her response before Levi could even get a word out.
He got a little embarrassed, but who wouldn't? He got pulled out of his thoughts once he heard, "Levi Minato! Please head back with me!" Dr. Hunters' voice rung in his head like a bad tune you couldn't get out even if you wanted too. He got up and could feel his heart pounding fast. He looked at the doctor and smiled and waited for him to start walking in front of him.
"So! Clara tells me you're here for a sprained wrist, is that right?" Levi nods his head slightly. He was scared he was going to find out he was lying. Not like he ever did before, or at least he had no idea if he did, but he was scared, would he drop him as a patient? What would he do? He just wanted to feel the cold supplies on his back, maybe his arms too.
"Alright follow me into this room and we'll take your weight and height." Dr. Hunter gave Levi a smile and got the scale set up. They finish there and soon go to a room and Dr. Hunter closes the room door behind him. He sits down at the computer and looks over and logins in writing some stuff down. He then looks over at Levi who was swinging his feet from the little hospital bed in the room. "So, Mr. Minato, tell me about your wrist! How long has it been hurting? and why haven't you mentioned it at our last appointment?"
His face got red and he grabbed his wrist. "Well, while I was cleaning today, I fell on it and sprained it I believe."
"Now are you sure? You've been coming to the office a lot and I'm worried you're coming for the wrong reasons. There are mental problems that we could check you for and I don't want to have you admitted for those. That would mean I would have to put in a referral, and you'd have to stay overnight in the impatient hospital. I would continue to see you as I am able to diagnose you with other illnesses not just physical but if it goes deeper than that, I will be worried and we may need to put some more tests in."
Levi nodded his head. He was wondering what it would be like to just be kept in a room being watched by Dr. Hunter. "What mental illness are you thinking I might have, doctor?" The doctor rolled his chair back to his computer and typed up something pulling up a screen that showed a mental disorder called, Factitious disorder. "It is called Factitious disorder, previously known as Munchausen syndrome. It is pretty rare but not unknown. If you have it, I'd rather you be in a safe place like a hospital so I can take care of you. I'm just really worried about you, Levi."
Levi smiled slightly. That was the first that, Dr. Hunter used his name. He was excited and maybe he could use this to his advantage. Maybe he could force himself to act like he had this mental disease, but he would have to do more research on it, or maybe he could ask the doctor about it. "Could you maybe tell me more about this disease? I'm really nervous I might have it and I want to be sure that if I do, staying here in an impatient hospital would be a good choice for me."
Dr. Hunter nodded his head and scrolled through some sites giving Levi some knowledge about the mental illness. Honestly it seemed like something he could get away with just to see his favorite doctor. "You promise you're not just coming to the office to see me?" Dr. Hunter said? Levis face turned so red it was insane and he shook his head.
"No! Absolutely not! That would be so unprofessional of me!" He proceeded to say. He then looked away and Dr. Hunter chuckled quietly and put in a referral for an impatient stay for Levi.
"Now I'm going to have to move you to a room, is there anyone who may be able to bring you any items from your house? I will be looking through everything, but they can bring whatever they want. You can call whoever you want but this hospital is going to be with other patients, but you do get 1 on 1 time with me. This is how we will find out if you have this mental illness. I will ask you a verity of questions and then we will go from there. Would you like to follow me to the ambulance and then we can transport you? I will ride along with you since I have no other patients today, you happen to be my only one today!"
Levi nodded and followed Dr. Hunter while he checked everything out, printing multiple papers, grabbing stuff he needed and then grabbing the last of his things. All Levi brought was his phone and his wandering thoughts that he never thought would go this far. He never thought that his plan would get him this far. He hates that there will be other patients but at least he gets 1 on 1 time.
As they finish up, they hop up into the ambulance and Levi has to get strapped down so he doesn't move around while they're driving and god was he having the best time of his life. He dreamed of his favorite doctor strapping him down to a gurney. He even dreamed of maybe being strapped down and getting an IV. He knew how these things went. He had been in and out of the ER since he was young. Maybe that was why he was the way he was.
"We'll do all of the other things like take your blood and temperature, pulse, stuff like that at the hospital." Dr. Hunter said. Levi could only nod as he admired Dr. Hunters look from where he was laying down. He loved everything about today, who knew that he was going to be watch 24/7 by his favorite doctor. Maybe even have more doctors watch him. He always dreamed of being called someone's patient or just to be put down in a file and having to always be observed. Even having to be called out to because they did something wrong.
"We'll be there soon. Don't you worry, whenever we get there, I'll make sure to get you unstrapped and get your blood taken so you don't have to take it again until later, m'kay?" Dr. Hunter said. Levi nodded and smiled. His pupils were dilated like he was in a manic episode. This was one of the biggest things that he could have ever wanted and he was getting it.
He was having the time of his life...
