It had been weeks since I had left the Devildom, though I missed the brothers with my entire heart, there was someone else who was keeping me exceptionally busy.
“Haha, I didn’t keep you waiting did I?”
The bell on the cafe's door rings, as I see Solomon walking in. There he was, walking towards me as unapologetic as ever. Honestly it would have pissed me off really bad if it was anyone else, but it in fact wasn’t. As much as I hated to admit it, I had ultimately fallen for the charms of this witty sorcerer.
“You asked me to come here at seven. It’s seven thirty.”
“Sorry, sorry. I didn’t mean to come in late. I just got… caught up with something.”
“Do I even wanna ask? My coffee is cold. And so is yours. Why did you even ask me to order ahead if you knew you were gonna be late?”
“Ahaha... no one likes coffee anyways. Come on, let’s get going. We have a lot to do today”
Solomon nudges me to get up as he goes to the counter and pays. Some say he’s shady while others say he has a friendly facade. But spending time with him as his “favorite disciple” as he calls it or his one and only apprentice, we have had our fair share of moments with each other. Seeing sides of him that others possibly haven’t brings me this certain joy that I cannot explain. Maybe that’s just part of his secret charm he uses to bewitch others, but I can’t help be a victim to it. He walks back from the counter, and together we make our way out of the cafe into the alleyway right beside it.
“Now I do hope you haven’t forgotten it, have you?”
“Of course not. Who do you think I am?”
“My adorable apprentice of course.”
“…I was hoping you would say humanities second strongest sorcerer but I guess that works too.”
I mumble to myself before lifting my hand forward and reaching out, closing my eyes, and visualizing our destination.
“I am the magician, Heed my words! Open the way forward and create a path where there is none!”
My voice chants out, as a bright light shines in front of us. I look at Solomon and nod as we walk forwards into the glowing portal.
